My German was from a long time ago and not very fluent, so wading through the menu yielded us a dinner of sorts. Wife had Kasespatzle ( a cheesy noodle dish) at 14.30 euros, I had a nine piece plate of Nurnberger bratwurst at 15 euros. Our wines were at 6.20 and 7.50 euros. We were our of place and basically ignored, so left when we finished our meals.

He seated us right away in the restaurant, as I mentioned how hungry I was. I wanted a true Bavarian experience & this did not disappoint! A true farm to table as you read in the menu about where their meat comes from (down the road) and how it was raised (open air free range). We started with a seasonal salad, so light & refreshing then we ordered the #10 sirloin steak with fried onions and potatoes in the most mouth watering brown gravy! We splurged & tried a local flare of "schnapps" called Williams (a hint of pear) and quickly learned why the Germans can be sometimes considered a harsh people! Deciding to stick with wine, I ordered the Montepulciano from Italy and quickly realized that wine drinking in the Styes will never be the same again. Absolutely amazing and completely different from anything I've tasted before! After deciding on the apple dumpling dessert, my husband and pray the rest of the food on our trip is this great! Actually apples, breaded and rolled in cinnamon and sugar and served with the most vibrant vanilla ice cream, I can't wait to see what's in store for breakfast. So if you're ever outside of Munich and need a drink or a bite or a warm bed and a clean room- don't miss this place!

Something that impressed me so much was that there was a group of folks that came in late from the airport that missed the dinner service. Therefore, they made a big platter of sandwiches for them to eat when they arrived. What service!!! Highly recommend!!

I've had involuntary layovers before but this was definitely one of those experiences that lightens the mood. Erik, his lovely family, and amazing staff run a surprisingly modern hotel in a small village just 30 minutes north of Munich. The restaurant was good and the staff and service were even better. Just be warned that there isn't really any walkable convenience stores nearby but they do have vending machines across the road for drinks beverages and more. However, they require German IDs so you will need to have to ask the friendly staff to get some for you.
