Every time we turned around it seemed we would run into some really great people volunteering in one of Autumn Ridge's different volunteer programs. They must have had hundreds of programs at the time. When we drove past their campus back then, the parking lot was FULL... every night of the week. Sundays were so big they required Rochester Police Department officers to manage the traffic flow entering and exiting their campus... every week. Even had a garden just off the entrance to the church that distributed more than a ton of food to the Channel One food bank we read about once and would see the volunteers out there all summer working in that garden. Recently, we attended a half full Sunday and now we understand... not a great experience.

The serve lunch every Saturday...supposedly…read more I visited them 3-4 times for this purpose, and each time I've been as polite, endearing and gracious as I possibly can. And each time they ignore the table I sit at, no matter where it happens to be situated. Most recently (today), I sat for about 30 minutes without any food or beverage, after which point I felt discouraged and left. I didn't feel very welcome at all. I get that I shouldn't be critical of free food. It's not a restaurant. I don't think it's ungrateful though if you travel somewhere for lunch and walk away with an empty stomach. If one time I was forgotten about by one person, I'd of course be understanding and forgiving, but each time to be forgotten by multiple people. It's obvious that it's personal, and it hurts. I don't think these parishioners are good people.

This church is active in the community and has outreach to several organizations. There is a teriffic childrens program and the leaders are knowlegable, entertaining, and are proud of their positions. Lastly, besides the high quality personnel and programs, are the amazing pastors. The message is clear and they deliver it in a memorable way. They are always happy to see you, are conversational and are interested in YOU. No handshake, no typical "have a nice day" than next please. They're warm and invite you to stay, mingle and have a cup of coffee.
