They had some nice signage directing us straight to the to floor. The room is huge and boxy with plenty of large windows that overview the city. Now I know they have a caterer that does the food, but it deserves a shout out. I'm sure it's off a preferred list but they had some very nice BBQ dishes prepared. Because they space is predominately shades of white, you can pretty much decorate it however you'd like. TL;DR The Bauer is a banging event space in KC. Use it.

This gallery is open on First Fridays and is one of our favorites. Almost all the art in the main…read moreroom is painted and created by the woman who rents the establishment. You can find her pouring wine from behind a make-shift bar most First Fridays and she loves to talk to people. There is almost always live music on a stage against one of the walls and you will find someone from every walk of life hanging out, drinking a beverage, buying art, and enjoying music. The side room of this gallery has rotating artists and it's always super fascinating. We love this place because the art is cool and moderately priced. We bought two prints just this past First Fridays and love them! It is not a large space and gets pretty crowded, but we still always stop by. If you're out in the East Crossroads next month, come stop in and check it out. Totally worth it!

Kansas City Cabaret was hosting their Beginning Burlesque Recital, of five fresh ladies that just graduated a burlesque class taught my the lovely Ms. Mary Magdelene (the dancing queen.) Besides the girls doing so well for their first burlesque show, the gallery space was really nice too. They had a really good sound system and wonderful video projections playing trippy spliced Betty Page videos. All of the artwork in the gallery is for sale, too! I guess the owner rents the space out for basically any event (wedding receptions, parties, burlesque recitals, art shows, art performances, you name it...) I think it's really cool that you can host basically any event in a space filled with amazing local art!

The inner gallery changes less but still has a good variety of pieces and mediums. I've bought more art from this gallery than any other in the Crossroads and I always make sure to hit it up for my Christmas shopping. If you want photography, paintings, ceramics, jewelry or sculpture, this gallery has it all. They ship if you are traveling or if you are shopping on a Frist Fridays and can't carry it around all night, they'll hold it for you. The people who own and run this place are always super friendly and helpful. There is a reason I always come back!
