They were hired for all air vents and a dryer cleanout on a 2,000 sq. ft. house, and particularly a bad smell coming in the laundry room. On the day of the cleaning Chris and Lee arrived during the agreed upon time window. I showed Lee around the house to the various vents and asked questions about the places I couldn't fully clear a path to the vent. The house's vents hadn't been cleaned during the time I've owned the place so it needed significant work. The same applied for the dryer. The cleaning took roughly 3 hours. I think they did a good job and made sure to take care of cleaning any messes their work caused. The one exception was the dryer blow-out which was left under the outdoor vent. My single gripe was that the final price ended up $100 over the original quote without discussion. However, it was clear that they had a lot of work to do that couldn't have been known without taking a look at things.

I was told they did the location, which was not too far from the previous location. DUSTOUT was a small company of 3 or 4 people, including the owner when I had my parents' ducts cleaned, and there was no answering service back in January. In fact, I spoke with the owner himself, who was helpful and knowledgable. In that they were a small company, I wanted to help them by making a point to give them a good review for good service. Fast forward to now, they have a whole answering service apparatus with a phone tree. Everyone loves an answering service with a phone tree! /s So I left a message with the details of the new job. They said they would call back. They didn't. I called *three more times* over the space of a week. I emailed the owner. Nothing. Crickets. I asked if they had new ownership and they said, "no". I asked for an estimate like last time, and now they tell me that they don't give estimates before they arrive. Now, one is supposed to allow them to come and they will tell you how much the job is after they arrive to do the job. (?) Who would agree to that? Not sure what to believe about DUSTOUT now. I have *still* not received a call back. I have not received an email back. So I hired another small company. I'll keep you guys posted on the job he does. I guess DUSTOUT used to be great, but I have no idea what is going on at this company now. Today on October 18, I decided to have 3 rugs cleaned by dropping them off for a BOGO special. This location is easy to find in a strip shopping plaza near the Utica Post Office and yes the building is purple as well and noticeable when driving in the lot. (See photo) I was greeted with a welcome smile by Nick Lloyd, rug care consultant (in a purple shirt). He was very helpful and knowledgeable to answer my questions about my 3 multi-color braided rugs. I was concerned about the material, soiled areas to be cleaned without damage because they were rolled up in my garage for 3 years. After examining the rugs while unrolled and laid out in the showroom area to view, he assured me no problems and they will be cleaned to look new again. Also, Since I did not have a 4th rug for the BOGO special he was kind enough to work out a half price on the smaller rug to complete my cleaning order. My cleaning order was totaled up, no extra charges since no major stains or damages to fix. He then informed to pay half of the full bill to start the cleaning process. FYI: They accept cash, credit cards or checks. The rugs were to be shipped out from this location to their main office and warehouse in Oak Park, Michigan for cleaning in 2 weeks or less. I was called in 10 days (less than 2 weeks) to inform me that my 3 rugs were cleaned and shipped back to this location and ready for pick up along with remaining balance due to pay. I picked them up on Nov. 6 and was very satisfied and pleased with the whole process and results along with how they were specially rolled and wrapped up in a professional way. Thank you Nick also for loading the rugs into my SUV after payment. I highly recommend this company for this type of service. They also offer "In- home" cleaning of wall to wall carpets, hardwood, cork, bamboo flooring. They have a Carpet Cleaning Special of 3 Rooms for $89.99 which can be scheduled either by phone or on-line with an appointment to assist one's schedule before the holidays ahead.
