This was a wonderful experience! Our family recommends Captain Clay! He was very knowledgeable and funny. His jokes were pretty bad, which was perfectly funny. He was also a smooth boat driver. The mangrove was beautiful and relaxing. We were worried about bug bites, but none of us got bit. On a small island beach, we found a couple of beautiful shells. There were prettier ones available in the Eco Endeavor store than what we found on the beach. We saw several dolphins, and Clay got a dolphin to ride our wake. That was fun. Everyone at Eco E. was friendly. You can bring your own snacks on the boat, but they provide water. You are supposed to bring your own towels, too, but we didn't get wet. We had a very enjoyable trip with Eco Endeavors on a Dolphin and Shell collecting trip (about 2 hours). We booked through Tripadvisor and the process was smooth and easy. Our original booking was cancelled as some stronger winds and cooler temperatures came in, and the trip would not have been pleasant. Disappointing of course, but preferable to a bad trip. Thankfully, we were able to find another day to venture out and everything was well organized, professional, and Captain Wes showed us a good time on the water. We noted that the crew put safety first. We first saw some dolphins, and Wes pointed out different behaviors, including hunting. He was knowledgeable about both the wildlife we were seeing and the areas we visited. The water was a little choppy this day and so we stayed in the back waters mostly, and could not go out to the dome houses at Cape Romano. We were told that the hurricane has largely submerged them at this point anyway. Shelling on Dickmans island was good, not the best we've done, but there were more shells than you could carry. Remember to bring your own net shell bag. The highlight was on the return with many dolphins, and some surfing the wake of the neighboring EcoEndeavors boat. I would recommend this tour to young and old. It's the perfect length of time and they packed in quite a bit of wildlife into this short trip. read more

My wife booked this tour towards the tail end of our trip visiting our grandson, daughter and son in law. We met at the Eco Endeavor's office,shuttled to the Pier where we met Captain Robert our tour guide. I have to say that captain Robert went above and way beyond to ensure we had a great experience. Extremely knowledgeable with the history of the Thousand Islands, the wildlife and demonstrated excellence in navigating through the waters at low tide which could be dangerous or even fatal at times. We were taken to a small island were we were able to do some shelling and swimming in the Gulf. An hour or so later we met back at the boat where on our way back we saw a couple of dolphins. We also experienced two other dolphins that were following us Jumping out of the water and swimming along side of our boat for quite some time. I would highly recommend this tour. read more

We wanted to book a tour to see dolphins, some of the area sights and do some shelling. We found Eco Endeavors on the internet and we're able to book a private tour for the 10 of us. The tour started at a storefront in the larger Publix shopping center. It is a brand new store with restrooms and merchandise to purchase. In order to combat the parking situation at the dock area they shuttled us over in a brand new van. This was so very convenient for sure. The van driver was a great guy. Upon arrival to the docks were greeted by Chris our captain. He was a really great guy and we also had a local woman who is a marine biologist as part of the crew. Our 4 grandchildren were treated so well. On the way out to the gulf we were treated to a spectacular dolphin show as they come into the wake of the boat continuously. Everyone enjoyed how playful they were. Then out to the dome houses to see them. All the time we were get a great education on the marine biology and the surrounding area. We then went shelling and found a lot of very cool shells. Chris then took us into a small Bay Area and we were able to find many manatees in the water. Truly a spectacular morning It is apparent that the Eco Endeavor team love what they do and respect the environment. We learned s lot from them. We took the dolphin and shelling tour of the Thousand Islands today and had a great time! There was plenty of seating on the boat, a canopy shelter and a cooler full of iced water for everyone. Captain Jeff, and first mate Tonya were informative and engaging. Jeff did a great job of getting us close to the dolphins and getting the dolphins to follow the wake of the boat where they would leap! We stopped at a little outlying island to do some shelling and got larger shells than we could find on the mainland as well as a few sand dollars. I highly recommend this tour! read more

MISLEADING AND DISAPPOINTING Captains were nice and somewhat educational . We got to see dolphins. However, the tour is misleading. It is advertised as having snorkeling. When we reached the island where we were supposed to snorkel, the captains gave us 40 minutes to walk around and collect shells. I asked about snorkeling and they said that it was windy so we wouldn't see anything. They didn't even offer an option to snorkel nor give snorkeling equipment. They never mentioned this at the beginning of the tour or on the boat. I basically paid a lot of money to sail to a small island and look for shells on the beach. read more

We were able to see some dolphins, and an army of beautiful birds...the stop at Shell island was not rushed and we were able to collect a diverse amount of shells...we even found the diamond in the ruff..a beautiful sand dollar! A Must See When You Are Visiting Marco Island Or Naples! Extraordinary Boat Tour. Captain Dave was Amazing. My husband and I scheduled a tour which was supposed to leave at 4 pm for 3 hours. When I requested the option to extend to see the sunset from the water, my suggestion was immediately approved. The scheduling was easy, and Captain Dave was awesome? He said so much knowledge about the ten thousand islands area, the wildlife, and life on Marco Island. We saw dolphins, many different species of birds and the Cape Romano Dome House. The boat had a total of 6 on my tour. My husband and myself and a family with a 7 & 8-year-old. Everyone was engaged with Captain Dave's information, and how he got the dolphins to play in the wake from the boat. The boat was very comfortable, not at all crowded and made for a great trip. I moved to central Florida from Virginia a little over a year ago for a job . It's been challenging starting over , being in a new place since I lived in Virginia for 33 years and loved it . My mom insisted we visit Marco Island and also insisted we go on the Eco Endeavors boat tour. I must say , this is by far the best most exciting thing I've experienced in Florida yet . It truly made me see the beauty of Florida! Captain Dave and First Mate Wes were so nice and truly down to Earth . Captain Dave was a great host and shared an incredible amount of knowledge in the sites and sights we got to see . There was so much nature to include different birds , dolphins , the different coves, mangroves , of course the water and beach ! We got to see the historic site of the Cape Romano Dome House . That was a really neat site to see . My favorite was picking up sea shells on the beach - we stopped there for a certain amount of time and it certainly was beautiful. All together, it was the best 3 hours I've ever experienced in my time in Florida. I recommend this activity if you decide to visit Marco Island. I promise you won't regret it . Attentive, knowledgeable and everything that this kind of trip should be.
