I made a point to always use Eco Taxi when in Umeå, despite them being a bit more expensive than the competition. I liked their Prius fleet and always found the drivers friendly and helpful. However, I booked a taxi to pick my family up from the airport earlier this year. The flight arrived late in the night and being winter it was very cold out. We were first out to the pick up point but no one came to pick us up. Other Eco Taxi cars picked fellow passengers up but we were left standing in the freezing cold (a little contrast to our sunny vacation temps and a shock to the system). When we called, the reception was also frosty and decidedly unapologetic. Apparently one should have had their phone on throughout the five hour flight so the cab firm could text with info. Screw in flight safety. There is by the way no record of a call or text having ever been sent. We finally got a cab driver to promise to return for us which he eventually did and he was genuinely sorry and embarrassed this had happened to us. At no point did Eco Taxi bother to take contact after this incident. They had all the details they needed to do so. No apology, other than that of the driver's, and certainly no kind of compensation.
