I thought the quality inn I stayed at in Orlando was the worst, this one beat it with no problem! Apparently Choice Hotel group is just terrible all around. This horrible stay all started the day of check in, I got a call saying they are overbooked on double bed rooms and will need to cancel my reservation unless I change to to a 1 queen bed room. It was just my son and I traveling so I said that shouldn't be a problem. It was all of $4 less of a charge. When we arrived it was about 1145. The lobby reeked of marijuana. The front desk guy was very friendly so I just looked past that. Once I got to the floor, the hallways smelled even worse of weed. We got into the room and could still smell it very strong. First thing in the room I noticed was it was dirty. The vent was falling off of the ceiling in the bathroom, the smoke alarm was just completely gone from the room, the can lights looked to have zero effort in install, bathroom filthy, no lid for the toilet, and whoever is the maintenance guy clearly lied on his resume. My son tried to shower but the water had a smell to it and it would get only warm. Both decided to just not shower and deal with it. Brushed our teeth with a water bottle, just afraid of the water. After falling asleep we were both woken up by the people in the room on the other side of us having sex. Do your thing! No shame! But we Could hear it through the wall and apparently the walls are very thin because the knocking of their headboard against the wall was actually moving our bed as well. Embarrassing. While sleeping I kept feeling like something was crawling on me. Maybe bed bugs here too? Also no breakfast is provided, even though it is advertised. All things aside, the most worrying part was the missing smoke detector. This is a safety issue and in a commercial building I'm sure is a violation in some way. After all this being said, spend the extra $20 on a room and go somewhere else. You will be glad you did. read more

I booked a double room for 2 people, not for myself. My check-in process took several minutes because the male and female at the front desk were continually whispering to each other. Then I went to the room to leave bottled water, etc. for my friends. First, neither switch inside the room turned on a light. Only 1 of the 2 lights over the beds worked. Even worse, the small stains on one of the top sheets looked like blood. All of this was reported to the same 2 people at the front desk. Well, NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT IT!!! When my friends checked in 4-5 hours later, the room was still in the same condition!! I got the room at a bargain price but it should AT LEAST be clean and functional!!!!! read more

I wish I could give negative stars. I would love to say I stayed here, but upon checking in and seeing our two rooms, immediately checked out. To say the least, this place needs to be raided by police. They had only half of my reservation booked for some reason, even though my confirmation number showed both rooms (this in itself was a whole fiasco, don't even get me started). Customer service was lacking to say the least. The man upfront ended up saving me a room and matching my original price thankfully, but that was only after about 5 calls and him talking over EVERY.. WORD.. I said, and then asking me stupid questions which he would have had the answer to if he wouldn't have interrupted me. Proceed to us walking up to the room - past the delirious, yelling hooker and circle of homeless individuals openly cooking meth on the stairwell, AND after the front desk worker took down my card number while allowing his "homies" behind the front desk (here's to hoping none of them stole my card information - LIVID about this part) - the first room, the door was completely open and it was clear that someone had been in there (trash, beds disturbed, etc.). So we go to the second room, this one had semen on the couch, bugs in ceiling corners, blood stains on the sheets, and I'm sure there was more but we instantly left. As we were leaving we saw a woman walking the opposite way towards our first room, so we quickly were able to tell what our room had been used for... When we told the front desk man this (who was still just kicking it with his homies behind the counter) he claimed it was the cleaning staff - mind you we were checking in at approximately 11:00pm.... weird, I wasn't aware cleaning staff worked that late? Or left the rooms dirty and unlocked? He declined to give us a full refund and began talking to his friend in another language. Although this is just a hunch, I got the vibe they were talking crap about us. Some professionals. Luckily we got half of our money back and got out of there ASAP. Look, I get it's a cheap hotel, we just needed a cheap one night stay after moving 16 hours from Arizona. But THIS place, should not even be allowed to be open. Steer clear. read more

Where do I begin...pulling up to Econolodge, the view is nice and presentable. The minute I entered the building to go to my room, the smell hits you. That should have been my first deterrent but I decided to give this place the benefit of the doubt. There was a huge cigarette hole In the sheets, the microwave was rusted to the point to where I was afraid to use it. There was a huge hole in the ceiling which must have been a vent or something at some point. The bed made more noise than the dog barking next door. If it were not for the fact that I taxied a ride in addition to it being almost 11:00 p.m., I would have immediately left . I did attempt to find another hotel in the proximity, to no avail. I had booked a nonsmoking room. Upon arrival we were informed that we were not going to be receiving that room due to AC being broken. We were informed that our room was given to other guests that I imagine arrived some time before us. This resulted in us being downgraded to a smoking room that looked as shown below and was absolutely uninhabitable. We were advised that we would be refunded for the night and given a stay at a sister hotel across the way called the Check inn, seeing as they had better conditions and it was non smoking. After staying at the sister hotel which still smelled of smoke, we decided that we were not going to be able to get any rest at these facilities due to the conditions as well as yelling guest in the in the hall ways. In following up with the manager Derek, after offering us this "free room" as a result of not giving us the room we reserved. I told him we could not stay the remainder of the nights in the hotel due to the very poor conditions and health reasons. This resulted in our refund for all the nights (since we didn't stay there a single day), or so we were told. After NOT seeing a refund in my account after a week, I contacted the front desk to check on the status. The receptionist told me to please hold (she didn't place me on hold so i was able to hear the entire conversation). Turns out Derek, the manager whom I had asked to speak with, and the one who offered us the "free" room was in fact there and as they recollected who was calling he had told her to charge me for the "free" room HE had given us after telling me that we were going to be staying there at no additional costs due to the inconvenience. He literally told her to charge me after telling me it was for free.. It reeked of smoke. Burn marks on wall and sheets. Lord knows what fluids (appeared to be blood) on the carpet. Ive never experienced such poor service and such terrible conditions. Please think twice about making a reservation here. read more

Stayed here for the night. The front desk man was very nice. However the room is a bit rundown and smells. The bed was comfy that was a plus. I think it could use a lot of upgrades from paint, floor, bathroom and door. The sink looked like it was cracked and superglued back together. If you focus on the comfy bed it's not too bad. But if you're looking for more than just a comfy bed, this isn't it. read more

Upon check-in: the toilet seat was missing; several missing light bulbs; a bolt was used to attach tub faucet handle; cable was removed from TV(no TV channels); smoke detector was removed/missing from ceiling; a bobby pin was used to keep curtains closed(missing curtain pin hangers); and the worst discovery of all - BEDBUGS! I slept with the light on. The "free breakfast" in the morning consisted of 2 pieces of toast and a weak cup of coffee. No fruit/juice/cereal/eggs/milk. There was a waffle maker, with an empty batter container. 2 of the 4-slice toaster slots did not work. The hotel staff delivered 3 frozen packaged sausage biscuits as I prepared my toast and coffee. GROSS!!!!! This place is a dump!!! The floors were dirty. There was no telephone to call the front desk, the window leaked when it rained, the smoke detector was laying on a shelf with no batteries (fire hazard), you have to prepay when you check in, no bulbs in the bathroom light fixture, walls were thin and you could hear every move in the hall and on the second floor. Oh yeah...did I mention it was a dump? The price was sort of cheap, but not worth what we paid. Never again will I ever stay at an Econo Lodge. Great place to stay if on a medium sized budget (per diem allowance). Check in was easy, cable worked, bed was clean, room was clean, bathroom was recently cleaned thoroughly. I thought the room was a bit cramped, but for its size, laid out well. The tv was clear and had decent channels on it, which has been an issue at other (m)otels in the area. I have stayed here four nights now and I'm happy with it. Could use paint here and there, but hey, what place is perfect...? I'd stay here again read more

I wanted to take a shower but the shower head was broken and it pointed to the ceiling and wetting it gross. The "free breakfast" in the morning consisted frozen sausages.
