No concern here. So my next transaction was some medicine with reg 24 on the script which means the all the repeats can be despensed at once. As i was visiting Maleny for a couple of weeks, I only required enough to cover my stay as I had plenty of my medicine back at home. The Chemist refused to supply the smaller choice, saying that was the rule. Wrong Mr Chemist.... Just google PBS 24 Reg. It shows that it is flexable. We argued... not pleasant. I had to get in touch with my dr who sent me a script omitting the reg24. Later I found the Amcal Chemist at the Riverside Centre next time.

I save thousands of dollars a year shopping here. If it sold some products that Priceline and Big W sell, then I would only shop here. However some items on the website are not in-store and vice versa. p.s The shelves are a little close together making getting around other people a bit annoying.

Once you get inside and can't see the fancy, old fashioned sign that differs greatly from the glaring, distasteful ones often decorating chemist doorways, you would think you were in any other pharmacy. Bath and body products, make up, medicine and all those fun things you find in a chemist inhabit the shelves here as well. There's nothing too exciting about this place, apart from the more neighbourly customer service that often comes with an independently run place.

The fact that JP Davies is…read morean independently owned chemist coupled with the fact that it's in West End's hub of Boundary Street make it a really lovely chemist to visit when you're feeling sick and want to be served promptly by helpful, friendly staff. Boundary street in West End has a very neighbourhood villlage atmosphere, and JP Davies has been around since 1885 so its customers are loyal and JP Davies returns the favour by being reasonably priced, and full of pharmacists and sales assistants who seem to genuinely want to help you. They don't just help you with your purchase or putting your script in, they're also happy to assist you if you have any questions about what medications might be best for your symptoms or if you're after any other advice. They'll even check your blood pressure for you. JP Davies sells a nice range of cosmetics along with their healthcare range and you can get Natio, Revlon, and other brands there at a pretty good price. They often have specials as well. I like to support the few remaining independent chemists and I know that whenever I go into JP Davies I'll be well looked after whether I need over the counter medication, a script filled, or just some sympathy and advice.

They sell kitchen gadgets, beauty products, gourmet foods, home wares, candles, toys, clothes, umbrellas, books, and yet still manage to function as a pharmacy as well. The pharmacists here are very knowledgeable and experienced, thanks in part to being situated in a large medical centre. The same phenomenon, though, means that it can get very busy and the wait for prescriptions can be a while. Their large volume of customers after prescription medicines also means that they run out of things. It doesn't mean you can't get your medicine, just that they have to send someone away to get it from storage or something and that, too, can cause delay. Although it fulfills its requirements as a pharmacy perfectly well, I more often use The Mill Pharmacy as a place to browse or buy random little things while I'm killing time before an appointment. At least if your script is taking a while there's not shortage of things to look at.

The pharmacy does a roaring trade owing to the amount of people constantly going in out of the building, either to see a fertility doctor or ear, nose and throat specialist or for some dreaded orthodontic appointment. This means many come to the pharmacy for scripts or medications, but this isn't what draws me in to this pharmacy. I love my pharmacies. I particularly love pharmacies that sell my favourite brands of make-up at cheap prices, and this is one of them. They get you in by filling the flanks of the store with make-up deals and before I knew it, I came out of here with a new lipstick, foundation and powder - having intended to buy nothing. They weren't my normal brand but a fairly cheap brand the chemist offered - and the colours were fabulous, matching my odd complexion (fair-skinned, dark-eyed) fairly well. (This is a rare win for me.) There's always a lot of bustling about in here but the staff are very friendly and won't keep you waiting if they're in the middle of chatting to someone else. It's like they have a sensor for potentially impatient customers, and are able to be in three places at once. Jolly good job!

The service is very good. Last time I was there, they didn't have the item in stock. They got my phone number, and by that afternoon they rang me and said the item was available. The best thing though is the the word "discount". Just grab one of their business cards, and on top of their competitive price, they give you another 10% discount. How can you beat that? So, if you need anything from a chemist, give them a try. If they were open on weekends, they would have been rated 5 stars.

I am extremely disappointed in the service here. I put 3 garments in to be dry cleaned and was told…read morethey would definitely be back the next afternoon. My partner needed his suit for a business meeting the day after. I went down to collect my dry cleaning and the lady spent 15min looking for them to which I was then told they couldn't find them. They called the dry cleaning company who told them they hadn't been delivered and I was told they would arrive early the next morning. I asked why no one called me to tell me to which they did not answer me. I then had to pay twice the price to get another suit dry cleaned afterhours that night somewhere else so that my partner had it on time. I then went back the next afternoon to collect my dry cleaning and it still was not there. No one even bothered to call me AGAIN. I was told to come back once again later. When I came to collect them finally I told them how disappointed I was and that I had to pay twice the price elsewhere to get another suit dry cleaned because they did not delivered what was promised to which they still charged me full price. AVOID AT ALL COST! POOR SERVICE!
