In the past year, I have bought a refrigerator, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, oven, ice maker, warming drawer and wine cooler from Ed Kellum. I am currently on my 4th repair to the new refrigerator, the new dishwasher has been repaired twice, the new microwave was repaired twice and then replaced by Whirlpool, not Ed Kellum. I am not pleased with the quality of the products I have purchased. No success so far on getting a new refrigerator, despite it needing 4 repairs and losing a lot of food the first time it went out. read more

If you are looking to spend more money on appliances and then get the same inferior service as you get with the Big Box Stores then Ed Kellum & Son is your place. We have had a new Maytag Washer & Dryer set for right at (2) months and the dryer has made extremely loud noises since the day we've had it. They have sent Guinco their appliance repair company out twice, actually three times as the first time he came out the technician realized he didn't have the part on his truck so he had to make another trip the next day. So, they have attempted to fix it twice and the second attempt was made today and they said it was fixed. My wife started doing laundry tonight and it is still making a lot of noise, our 15 year old Maytag Neptune Dryer that we just got rid of was very quiet but not this rattle trap. They also didn't bring the correct hoses out on the initial delivery to make the steam function work and here we are still today waiting on that. The salesperson (Mark Pritchard) we dealt with that is also one of the managers, he is about as helpful as a basic staff member at Best Buy and he doesn't seem to think our issue is that big of a deal. I think we will take our complaint up to Maytag as this company is interested in one thing and one thing only...your money. They could care less that you spent over $2k on a washer & dryer as long as they get their money then that's the end game for them. read more

As someone who grew up in the Dallas Metroplex, Ed Kellum & Son's reputation is what persuaded me to shop there. When my existing propane gas range was deemed unfixable, I opted to start my purchase with a phone call as I live on the outside fringes of the metroplex. Brent Underwood was very happy to talk with me and asked me many detailed questions about the size of my existing range, how I cooked, what I like to cook as well as the types of ranges I had cooked on previously and what I did or did not like about them. We were quickly able to narrow my options down to two brands. Rather than keeping me on the phone or having me drive the 1.5 hours down to their store, Brent was nice enough to do additional research that allowed me to make a confident decision quickly. And had the home warranty company not decided to try to fix the unrepairable range, I would have had it installed within 3-4 days at the beginning of the following week. Brent was very patient with us over the next 5 months of dealing with the home warranty company and would answer any questions I had regarding my existing range. Never did I feel pressured to make a decision on the range I had put a deposit on. I was finally able to finalize the order for the new range shortly before the store closed on the Friday before Thanksgiving and it was delivered on Monday morning! The delivery and installation process only solidified the good experience of my purchase. The delivery arrived just as the installer had uninstalled the old appliance. They were in and out quickly and were very careful of not damaging my floors, walls, or cabinetry. The installer and crew was on time, courteous, answered any and all questions we had, meticulous throughout the installation process, and even moved the placement of the gas hookup to allow the new range to be pushed all the way to the wall. It was an absolute joy to have my new range in time for holiday cooking. Brent reached out a few days later to make sure that I was happy with both the delivery and the range. I will be definitely be calling Kellum & Son the next time I'm in the market for an appliance. Great experience with this business from phone call to installation to followup. read more

June, 2015 - Earlier this month, I bought a washer/dryer from Ed Kellum plus I was charged $100 delivery. When I questioned the delivery charge, salesman said, "Oh, you can't get anything in Dallas with free delivery." 3 wks later I found the exact same models for about $100 less plus free shipping. The law requires them to price match within the first 30 days. I went to the store & requested a refund for the difference which I'm told has to be approved from higher sales personnel. Promised calls have not been returned. I am very displeased with the service of this company. I have asked them to pick up the washer/dryer. The washer tub is so deep I literally have to get a ladder to remove clothes from washer. "Oh they're all like that". Really? I have found washers where I can actually reach the bottom without standing on a ladder. If you have another option, don't waste your time with Kellum. Virginia S. read more

They sold me a defective appliance for my kitchen and refused to exchange it for a new one. When their installers came to install appliance (a pop-up vent), it didn't work. It wouldn't even turn on, not even once. When I let Ed Kellum know about the problem, they refused to exchange it. Instead, the referred me to the manufacturer for repairs. Personally, when I pay full price for a brand new, expensive appliance, I want an appliance that doesn't need repairs to in order to function in the first instance. Please do not buy any appliances here---if they deliver you a defective unit, they will not exchange it. And they will be rude and condescending about it to boot. Best customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Andrew Owen went above and beyond to help me with my coffee and I did not even purchase it from Ed Kellum & Sons. Here is my story, I had a Miele coffee machine that broke and I was calling around to have it serviced. I called Miele directly and they said that no one in the DFW area services them and that it would need to be shipped to them. They were going to send me a box, over 1 week later noting showed up. I called local Miele dealers and ended up talking to Andrew at Ed Kellum. Even though I did not purchase it from them he offered to call Miele on my behalf. I was surprised that he would do that, there was nothing in it for him. He called me back and said that a Miele representative would call me shortly, they did and gave me reference number for another box. Another week pasted and still no box. Andrew himself called me to follow up if I received the box, I told him no. He then said that he would call Miele and try to resolve this for me. The next day he called back and said Miele will be sending me a brand new coffee machine. I was beyond happy with his news, and at the same time in disbelieve that he did that, he truly cared and wanted to help me without any selfish agendas. Today the new coffee machine came in, and once again I was floored. In the box was the latest top of the line model. Even though I did not purchase the machine from them originally, I most definitely will in the future. read more

My wife and I have been purchasing items from Ed Kellum and Sons for over 15 years. The first person we ever purchased anything from there was Scott Rains. Over the years and through our owning 3 different homes in two different states at different times, Scott helped us with our evaluations, selections and purchases of at least 10-15 major appliances (refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, microwaves, warming drawers, ranges, ovens, washers and dryers and a few other various items). During that time, we have also purchased a number of TVs and associated audio components. We have called him many, many times just to talk through choices we were considering and his counsel has consistently been invaluable. He has helped us easily get the few warranty replacements we needed and also helped guide us to where we could find reliable moving and installation services.
