I have to give a shout out to Ed Pawlack tile, and specifically Peter who helped me when I came in trying to buy just a few replacement tiles for two showers in my home. I'm a past customer of Ed Pawlack tile, so he was able to look up my information to find out more details, but he also identified some tile from my photo of an older bathroom shower because of his extensive knowledge of tiles. He said they were discontinued and I should try to buy them online at eBay or other sites that sell discontinued tiles - which is what I did. He also gave me a couple pieces of an edging tile gratis that he had in stock that should work for our other bathroom. Customer service? Not here. My wife and I went over to check out thier tiles on a Saturday afternoon cause we're going to replace our kitchen and bathroom with tile. We walked in saw a lot of tile that we liked, had a couple of questions but nobody came to see if we needed help. We did see a lady and gentleman sitting doing nothing not even a greeting. So I went here to buy coping for my pool and was given pricing on a card. I am a chef not a contractor or in the tile business so when I see a price of tile 12x24 And the sales person tells me 21.92 I assume that means per piece! Not per square foot! Rule of advice a square with a line through it means nothing to me. Sqft actually makes sense to me. I am not a dumb person and I am also one to recommend all of my clients somewhere when we are taken care of. My fiancé and I were also looking at tile for our house ... obviously we will continue to look somewhere else because there sales ppl don't understand how to communicate with the general public. I get there is a cost to a product and a price you can sell it for but this kind of game is stupid and we keep me from ever using your company for any of our home improvement needs! I am an interior designer in Los Angles, and I will often make a special trip here, as the showroom is four times bigger than anything in my area, including the 'trade' showrooms in the Pacific Design Center. The staff knows what they are talking about, and you can pretty much find anything that's available in the U.S. Ease of getting samples, and efficiency in handling orders is a big plus. Its such a relief to find a place that knows their product and had the ability to design what I needed. They even recommended a contractor to help with the install if needed. Just leaving this place and I must say the experience was absolutely horrible. There are so many options for tile/stone/flooring places in OC that I am shocked on the lack of customer service here. We came in, browsed for about 10 minutes with absolutely no help. Finally we found a gal sitting behind a desk and only after making jokes about the lack of service did she get up and come over. She looked annoyed that we were even in the store. I asked if there was a sample of a floor tile I could purchase and she came back empty from the warehouse. So then I picked out another option, which also came back with no samples. She did not offer to order a sample or to help me out with any other options either. So then we just left. Disappointed! Excitingly went in to look for over the stove backsplash and or mural. The showroom is beautiful with endless options. A young girl greeted me and directed me to Mark. Well, I guess I was not up to his standard of a customer with my questions, so he told me to check Pininterest and return when I know what I wanted. I totally shocked! Why is he there then! I guess he noticed my expression and then said to look around. I immediately found two options, but did not have the measurements. He referred to a website to get more ideas. I had a very bad experience working with this store, the owner and staff. The staff is too busy to help, not that there was a ton of people shopping when I went. I was ignored for too long and had to go in search of someone to help me choose colors for some very expensive custom tiles. Because the sales person did not take the time to ensure I would get the product I wanted I ended up receiving tiles I refuse to use in my newly remodeled kitchen. He just had to copy the sample board they had, ask for a tile sample or take a picture and send it to the manufacturer to confirm colors. None of these things were done. This lazy short cut delayed my completion, costing money and time for me and my contractor. I placed another order at Forever Tile in Whittier. The owners took the time with me, are so down to earth, know design and are passionate and knowledgeable about tile besides being awesome to work with. I DO NOT recommend going to Ed Pawlack Tiles for any custom orders. They are not equipped to help with design and color. They have a HUGE selection and you'll find what you are looking for but only if you want plain tiles. I would not recommend custom ordering of any kind. read more

One of the BEST tile showrooms in the North OC area, even surpassing most of those along tile mile (State College) in Anaheim. With over 10,000 sf of showroom space, you will definitely find what you are looking for. And in the rare instance you don't, they can order it for you. They can do custom etched tiles too! My clients are always overwhelmed yet exuberantly happy that I brought them here because they always find what they want and need here. Friendly customer service too! ***I WISH I HAD ORDERED ELSEWHERE*** I'm giving Ed Pawlack tile an extra star because there tile selection is actually pretty, but the customer service and delivery time estimates, need much improvement. I've ordered approx. $7k in tile and was told that one tile would be delivered in the same week and ended up taking 8 weeks and the other one is still not here 4 months later. That tile ran out on the first one and had to be ordered from Italy, so I understand the extra time, but it would have been amazing to have been told initially that it wasn't local and the tile that was available in 2-3 days was only for 1/3 of the amount I needed. The second tile, from ENCORE, is ridiculously late. I was told 2-3 weeks. The first sample took 4 weeks and was wrong. Second sample was another 4 weeks. I put in my order and almost 8 weeks later, they are just now starting on my order and who knows when I'll be graced with my tile. You might think this is a supplier issue and not a retailer issue, but I've had to babysit this entire process with regular phone calls to my sales rep asking them to please call with an update. "Please please please call with an update". Nothing. I have to keep calling and calling. Customer service is awful. Not sure how I can expect the sales reps to be any better though when the owner doesn't even call customers back. Lead by example. If you have infinity time to complete your project, go ahead and order from them, but if you have any reasonable timeline, I would pick somewhere else because you won't have someone on your side making sure you get your material in time. read more

We visited Ed Pawlack which researching quartz countertops for our kitchen remodel. The first 2 visits service was lackluster and we always had to ask for help, no one greeted us or approached us. However, our third and final visit was a bit bizarre. By that time we knew exactly what we wanted and came equipped with our kitchen layout drawings and exact measurements. Again, we had to ask someone who was just sitting behind the counter for help. Then it got weird. While going over the measurements with the salesman another older gentleman came out from behind the counter, stood about 10 feet away and just stared at us. No smile, no nod of the head, nothing. Just a dead stare, even when I looked straight at him. Were we not dressed right or something? It was very unnerving! His dress and manner led me to believe he was a manager or possibly the owner. We got everything done with the saleman pretty quickly since we knew what we wanted and had all the measurements and information. He promised us an estimate in a couple of hours. This was the first week of April. When we didn't hear back from them after several days we moved on. Our beautiful quartz countertops were installed last week. Different company that provided great service, suggested other options in our price range and did a very professional installation - all within the time frame we required. Been about 6 weeks now since we were promised an estimate from Ed Pawlack - nothing, nada. Showroom is beautiful and they have lots of options but service and commitment follow thru is non existent. We went elsewhere for kitchen backsplash tile and will go elsewhere for the complete bathroom remodel that's coming up next month. We won't ever go to or refer anyone to Ed Pawlack again. read more

I have been to Ed Pawlack tile multiple times, mostly a few years ago when we were doing an extensive remodel of my home. They have beautiful tiles, but the service was horrible then and is the same now. No one greets you, if the people who work there are busy with a customer they do not even acknowledge you (when it is obvious that I am needing assistance). I was ready to purchase tiles today, but because of the lack of attention, we left and went to Bedrosians in Fullerton (much further away) and got amazing service, quality and price. I read the reviews but wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt. Although I appreciate the fact that the salespeople do not hover over you, a simple greeting would have been nice. It was all salesmen on the floor and they were all hanging out in the middle console area. Not a single one of the men approached us to assist. I finally approached a young sales gal and although she seemed to lack product knowledge, she was friendly enough. I am in interior designer, and potentially have the "power" to bring vendor's quite a bit of business. I also know that I have a choice in where I take my clients' to spend their money. Many people like to look around and don't want to be bothered, there are hundreds of tiles to look at here and you won't find a better selection than at this store. Many other tile stores are either really high end or super low end, but Ed's store carries all price points, so no matter what my clients budget is, we can always find options.
