This excellent Supermarket is surprisingly located on the arrivals level in terminal 2 of Munich international airport. On our recent layover while having dinner at a restaurant around the corner I located this supermarket. On one of my Frankfurt airport transits I had a discovered a similar market so it looks like have a supermarket in German airports for the convenience of the passengers is an excellent idea. The most surprising factor though is that the pricing at this supermarket is extremely reasonable and they are not scamming passengers out of cash by charging double and triple pricing which most businesses associated with an airport do. We were able to buy excellent chocolates at reasonable prices compared to the same chocolates selling a few hundred feet away in duty free at triple the price. 5 stars all the way wish other airports adopted a similar concept. read more

Edeka is one of the premium convenience chains in Germany (which means it's not the cheapest shop around), but there seems to be no premium for its location. Okay...arriving early morning from the states. First thing I do is go to the Supermarket at the airport, the EDEKA store. They have all sorts of sweets, breads, meats, cakes and goodies at normal prices. I go straight to the meat counter and order " 1 Semmel mit Leberkas". You'll get a bread/kaiser roll that was baked that morning and a thick slice of warm veal loaf (called Leberkaes) fresh from the oven, maybe with mustard. You go to the cashier and pay...... 1,80 up to 2,00 Euros....and you'll have some of the freshest and juiciest Leberkas with Semmel. I know another guy who does the same thing and it helps you get the day started. I don't eat breakfast on the plane before landing, because of this fresh and genuine Bavarian sandwich. Convinient shop just as you get out of the baggage claim area in Munich. It is open seven days a week and this is quite important if you happen to arrive in Munich on a Sunday as all the stores in the city are closed on that day. They have most day to day things including a nice bakery that has a decent selection of bread. The prices are higher as you would expect at an airport but not over the top either. I usually stop here and pick up a thing or two on my way out. read more

An awesome place to shop for some random snacks! Staying at the airport hotel, we wandered in here for some snacky foods that would be much cheaper than anything the hotel would have. We wondered the aisles for a while. I had a blast looking all the different products they had. But as a store, they really had a really good variety of different foods. The only thing is that their produce was a bit on the weak side, but at the same time its a the friggin airport it's amazing they had such a variety in the first place!!! read more

This is a great place to shop with regular prices, believe it or not. And the selection of items is pretty big. Staff is nice as well. They also operate a food stand outside with all different sandwiches and a small coffee bar. read more

This supermarket is so much better than any supermarket in the middle of a large city. You can find a lot of everything and of outstanding quality. We have heard that the restaurant in our hotel was not very good so we made some shopping of "delicatessen" to drink and eat, brought it to our hotel and had a inexpensive "pic-nic-in-our-room" in stead of visiting the hotel restaurant. read more
