Every time I've gone we've gotten less back. The first lamb we sent a couple years ago came back as 3 boxes. The last time we sent 3 lambs and got back 1 box each, and one box was 1/4 soup bones. One of my sister in laws sent a lamb after being warned and got the box back with no shoulders. read more

I recently purchased 10 pounds of ground beef (individually wrapped) from Edes Meat located on Hillside. I have used 3 pounds of it at different meals. Just maybe I got a bad batch, but we found the meat to be substandard. I'm not sure what filler they use if any or whether they are just throwing in every scrap piece of meat consisting of gristle, tendon, connective tissue, fat, etc. but eating this meat was just plain gross. I could actually feel all these gross pieces of meat as I attempted to chew it. We ended up throwing out the meal. We wasted the ingredients to include our time and effort. As a young man, I worked in a meat market. We also added filler to our hamburger meat. The amount of filler/scrap pieces of this meat seem to be excessive in this situation. Considering how costly food is these days; this should have never happened. read more

Great quality of meat. We love buying our Thanksgiving turkey and ham here. They are amazing and all you do is warm them up. Also the sausage that is made here is great with lots of flavor. It's a little pricey but well worth it. read more

If I could eat, Edes meats for breakfast lunch and dinner, without sacrificing an unbalanced diet I would. I choose to eat Edes, because it is the most succulent meat known to man... Literally, these guys are so good, they would have impressed the cave man... The hot beef jerky, whenever a bag is bought, it's gone within 30 min because everyone grabs piece after piece out of the bag... It impressed me on all avenues. read more

You can also get it at most Pak-a-Sak convenient stores around Amarillo without having to drive all the way to McCormick road. Eades is also a great butcher. I had 2-3 different people go check on my order and they couldn't find it. Then an younger lady asked an older red head lady if she had taken an order matching my orders description. She said very rudely she hadn't taken an order like that. Then the younger lady said the name it was under and the older red headed lady said yes it's in the cooler. Then the older red headed lady said we didn't think y'all were going to come get pick this order up. I explained to her my wife called in the original day we were suppose to pick them up and moved it to today. She was extremely rude to one of my friends who asked about the old owner. This might be a good place to pick up meat but the customer service was awful. I will never spend another dime in this place. I hope if you're reading this you won't either. I will tell anyone who ask me about edes the terrible experience I had. read more

I'd stand in line for a week to order from this butcher shop. Holy Moly best meat I ever had! Dry aged. Can't find that anywhere anymore. Steaks are fantastic. Tenderloin to die for. read more

Best place in town to get steaks, port chops, breakfast sausage. You want it....they prob have it.
