My husband and I were super excited to visit Edgewater as our first trip out to eat since COVID-19 started! There was outdoor sitting which was awesome, but, we were seated in the grass which was wet, odorous, and muddy. It was not the best location to be sat and I thought I was going to slip as we were walked to the table! For appetizers we ordered the calamari and the crab cakes. Both of these appetizers were SO delicious and we would happily eat them again. But, we were unfortunately disappointed with our entrees. I ordered the lobster pasta (which seems to be the most popular dish on Yelp) and my husband got the chicken parmigiana. The lobster in my pasta was pretty sub par and the mushrooms were really not good. Even the pasta sauce itself was lacking good flavor, I definitely would not order this dish again. The chicken parmigiana was better than the lobster pasta, but we have definitely had better. We were a little disappointed in the atmosphere and the entrees we ate at Edgewater, but I will say, the appetizers were great! read more

This is my favorite place to eat in the area. I make the drive from Center Moriches quite a bit for my Edgewater fix. Relaxed atmosphere and always a great crowd. Great and scenic restaurant to either grab a few drinks (with great bartenders) or a sit down for a classy dinner (with great service). I've tried every App/Entree and a few of the pastas. I went here for my anniversary dinner and It was absolutely amazing! The food is to die for, the bruschetta as an app I could eat every single day. Great drinks and bartenders. Went there for my bf's birthday with some friends. Loved it! For appetizers we got the meatballs with mozzarella , crab cakes, risotto with shrimp, and calamari. My favorite app were the meatballs and mozz. The fresh mozz had ricotta in it too I think....soooooo good! I normally would never get meatballs as an appetizer. I'm Italian and only eat my moms meatballs as a rule! We will def get it next time we are there, they were THAT good! For dinner I got the seared tuna with risotto. Absolutely excellent. My one and only complaint (and I've eaten here many times with zero complaints) is I ordered my filet mignon medium--sadly, it came absolutely rare. So we went out to Hanks pumpkin picking and we are always in the mood for a great meal. The woman who works at Hanks threw us your way, That was after we were discussing Karl Ehmer German deli. So she said the place to go was here. Fast forward. we came we ate we were happy. The service was outstanding, fast to the point and friendly. A must visit to this Hampton Bays elevated restaurant on Montauk Highway across from Shinnecock Bay. Enjoy the sunset and view and while the place is known for Italian it has plenty of delicious options. The staff is engaging and is always happy to see people enjoying their food and restaurant. Not only is this place a Hampton Bays classic, they are civically involved with sponsoring a spaghetti lunch/dinner fundraiser. The food was tasty. The server seemed tired and frustrated that we were there. That was unfortunate since it was a special family dinner for my parents' 53rd wedding anniversary. The only reservation we could get was 8:30pm. I wouldn't recommend going this late if you want good service. read more

This really should be a 3.5 star review. For starters this is a great find, the price is right and the food and service is solid. Unlike other Hamptons spots this place doesn't try to be more than it is. The result is it's always jumping with a good crowd. The service was solid for how busy it was. I highly recommend the broiled oysters they are out of this world!!! Pasta and salad were good as well. Unfortunately, the veal saltimbiocca we had was largely unedible. It was chewy like gum and tasted like gum. They served it in some sugary syrup base that tasted gross. That being said I would go back here and hope it was just a miss on the veal. Things I liked: The calamari with spicy tomato and basil aioli dipping sauces The crab bisque The burrata with meatballs My only critique was the eggplant caponata on the Burrata & Bresaola salad - it tasted sweet like they'd used sugar or perhaps it was past its prime. One would think that a dish that is primarily made up of olives would be somewhat salty...it wasn't but instead had a sickening sweet flavor. I know they wouldn't intentionally serve soured food but the caponata was inedible - not wanting to be a fussy diner I just pushed it to the side of my plate and ate the rest of the plate which was delicious! A reliable, bit more formal dinner spot. The deck offers a nice view of the Bay across the street, but the interior seating is very comfortable as well. The bartender does not skimp on the drinks. The place has the feel of an established restaurant, which I'm sure has a regular following. The fried ravioli was simple, but good. Crab and corn salad was a little heavy on the corn and just a hair light on the crab, but still delish. The Lobster Pasta was the best dish and well stocked with big succulent claw meat. After a fabulous day at a Hampton ocean beach, what could be better? Well the Edgewater restaurant surely rivaled the day at the beach. After not being able to secure a reservation at several other local eateries, we tried this bayside restaurant. Our party of 5 was warmly greeted by the hostess and was told she could accommodate us in 20 minutes. So we ordered a bottle of wine and sat on the deck to watch the sun set over the shinnecock bay. True to form 20 minutes later we were seated al fresco. My guest dinned on expertly prepared cuisine. Two of the dishes were gnocchi w pistachio sauce and grilled local tuna. The Edgewater definitely exceeded all my expectations on this very busy evening. The staff was knowledgable and courteous.
