I chose Kay's as they had a really nice selection of sympathy planters. I love flowers, but for sympathy occasions I do prefer planters. I can't say enough good things about the beautiful "The FTD® Peace & Serenity™ Dishgarden" that I had chosen. The plants and flowers looked so beautiful, and the quality of the basket was lovely! Flowers and planters are not cheap- but I am so pleased what they had delivered to my friend, and she was completely blown away also. Thank you Kay Penny Florists for a beautiful delivery! The staff and owner are so hands on and all services are personalized to your individual needs. We even ordered additional flowers last minute and she was able to deliver without a hitch and even sold it to us, wholesale price. I shop at this food basics location VERY regularly. Last week, I bought a single clove of garlic,…read moreit looked ok from the outside, when I got it home and opened it, it was BLUE and ROTTEN on the inside. Disgusting. WORSE than that, this week I went in to pick up a few things, chestnuts being one of them, and there were LIVE MAGGOTS crawling around in the tray of them. It was fkng disgusting as well. I'm not sure which was more gross, the garlic or the maggots. I asked for the owner but only a manager was in, one of two brothers that manage this store I believe. When I asked him to come and see what I had to show him, he was so uninterested in coming to see, slowly followed me from 10 feet behind, and then was so rude about it. He didn't even have the decency to apologize about it, or say that is unacceptable. Instead, he said "I don't want to get close to you". I showed him the maggoty chestnuts, and he basically grabbed the tray and walked away. What absolutely terrible customer relations. For someone "not wanting to get close to me" he certainly came right up beside me to grab the tray. It appears he was just not wanting to get close to me because he didn't want to deal with anything I was going to show him, until he saw the maggots, that is. I would attach pictures if I could. I mentioned to him that the store is too busy raising their prices every week to look at the garbage they are selling people, and that maybe if they are going to raise the prices everyday that they should sell some groceries that aren't shit, for a lack of a better word (not that I was looking for one). His response to that was, "well they'll be going up more in the new year even more!" like a complete and total jackass. All they clearly care about is money and not about selling decent food to people. What a way to talk to one of your most loyal customers. I spend THOUSANDS of dollars here a year, maybe even a month. I shop here because it is the closest grocery store to my house. From now on, I will drive a little further to shop at a store with decent groceries to offer, such as fortinos or metro, where they care about the quality of the food they sell, even if I have to pay a little more. Not to mention this store claims not to be doing refunds for anything, blaming covid of course, while other stores happily return and exchange right now. So not only will they sell you rotten or maggoty food, they also wont give you a refund for it apparently, apologize, or even barely acknowledge you. Absolutely disgusting, can't say it enough.

Perfectly seasoned rich creamy soup loaded with large chunks of yummy sausage. Was good to the last drop. The sandwich of the day was Toasted Western which was egg, cheese, ham with onions and peppers. I am a total egg person and I like it quite a bit. I paired that with a side salad which was loaded with nicely chopped fresh crispy veggies and leafy greens which as anyone who is a side salad over fries person will tell you should be an easy thing to make but usually turns out crappy, not this time. The chef spent time beautifully chopping up nice fresh veggies there was not a crappy wilted or mushy veggie to be found. Salad win. My husband got the same thing but with fries instead of salad. Although I don't like fries I did try some because he got this amazing little dish of gravy to go with. Well that gravy was the most rich, perfectly seasoned and sumptuous gravy I have had. It was knock your your socks off delicious. All and all my comment to my husband was "It's like you went over to someone's house who makes everything from scratch and is really good at cooking". Picard Peanuts is part candy shoppe, part pre-packaged Bulk Barn featuring mainly peanut/nut based snacks, e.g. beer nuts, praline covered nuts, chocolate covered nuts, raw pecans, walnuts, etc. They also have wild bird feed, gummy worms, and stuff like that. They are known for their "Chip Nuts" which are peanuts with a potato-based coating in tons of flavours. A 310g bag is $3.49, so not bad at all! If it's your first time, I'd definitely pick up a bag of those! In addition to the "Chip Nuts", they also had "Cookie Nuts" which are nuts coated in a cookie batter which I did not try. A 170g bag of cornuts for $1.99 and they were super fresh! Lady who was there was super friendly!
