We all had soft ice cream dipped in different toppings: - dark chocolate and brownie - cotton candy - salted caramel All were sooooo damned good! Our lattes were alright, but not amazing (it's an ice cream/dessert shop, so that's what I'm evaluating them for, after all). Enjoyed our visit, will be back.

Gotta pick and choose your battles and I say ice cream wins this battle. After a nice night with my best friend we took off for a nice night stroll with ice cream on our minds. At the half way mark we stoped in to get a drink because we already hit the half way point so why not celebrate. Arriving for our much anticipated ice cream cone we were lucky to see no lines and the whole place to ourselves. I took my time trying flavours like blueberry which was cool but not willing to dip my entire ice cream in that flavour. That takes a load of commitment. Instead got my go to the salted caramel. We grabbed a seat outside and sat down and cheers out small dipped vanilla cones. One of the best chocolates I've ever had, it's so rich and creamy and does not taste at all like the cheap plastic hollow Easter bunnies that most places use. If you can't make it here which it's a little Tricky to get to I suggest going to any

Came last year for my birthday, asking for the same cake but a smaller size. Was a different person on the phone than whom I spoke to many years ago. I mentioned that I only like it when all the ingredients were freshly made within days and I was expecting to pay extra and even gave them over a week and let them select their own pick up time for me to come get it, so they'd not have to rush themselves. It looked nice but it was tasteless, very bland, I don't think the sponge was fresh at all, I think they make their sponge cake bases in large batches and store in the freezer or something, so they can take them out and cut to order to increase their speed and productivity. That's probably why the first time I ordered this cake it tasted so different because it was such a large size (for 200 people) that they could use an entire baking tray freshly made just for that order. I don't appreciate being lied to. Had I known that they could not make my cake completely fresh, I would not have selected a recipe that required all the attention to be on the sponge. For their prices, I might as well of have had fun selecting something much more intricate instead of a simple strawberry shortcake they couldn't even get right due to their process not their skill. My birthday is coming again and I'm not confident to try them out again just because they lied. I didn't even like the layer of marzipan almond paste icing they used. It tasted to dull compared to being my favorite part many years ago when I first ordered. I'm positive that was also pre-made and not days fresh. I expect recipes to taste different when it's a different person making it, but this is not a flavor change, this felt like I was scammed. I'm trying to imagine that maybe it's because Montrealers are getting more use to bland foods that strong flavors are no longer trending, so this place was expecting that so they purposely made it very bland and low sugar. If that's the case, then that's really not fair of them to not ask how sweet we like something and just to assume what our pallet is. I purposely avoid most places because they follow this crappy Montrealer bland pallet trend... and I had liked this place specifically because I thought they were not following that. I guess over the years they changed owners and along with that, changed their identities.

We purchased quite a few random items like saucissons and beverage mixers. Our friends also found some boxed cookies and biscuits. La Diperie on the West Island is a "cool" and lovely addition to what they've been missing out on…read more As most of their locations are quite far for West Islanders. I'm glad and happy for the growing success of La Diperie. As the original owner once told me. We grew mainly because of social media(Mostly Instagram) and our loyal customers. The location on the West Island has the same tasty flavours and variety as the others. Which is lovely! However.. The ambiance, cleanliness, and staff is simply quite disappointing. The floors are dirty, I stepped on many sprinkles, globs of melted ice cream and a good layer of dust. The ambiance feels far too big and messy. Random things on the counter, again a small layer of dust, poor quality pain and dirty windows. Arrows out of light blue masking tape on the floor, which are slightly peeling off. Napkin dispenser almost empty, owner dragging a leaky trash bag across the store.. Yes, they've been open since July 1st, which is only a few days. Having said all this, details related to organization and cleanliness I think are very important! The location is around the corner from a poor looking strip mall, hard to find! Enjoying your ice cream outside becomes a unattractive challenge. Only four very uncomfortable chairs, facing a parking lot. As for the staff, they are kind and polite. Can't say much more. Overall, I do hope they succeed within time.

Heading over, I spoke to Maximo who was the staff member who answered the phone. He helped answer a few questions and upon arriving continued with excellent and respectful service. Needless to say the surprise gift given to my friends (only at dessert time) went over tastily, as the cookies were slightly warmed before serving. Only enough remained for a few in each school lunches. Now that's one way to make the other kids jealous. Can you tell, I'm quite excited about this ultra clean and modern store opening. It's located fairly centrally with respect to the West Island, but worth making a special trip for what we grew up craving as kids... so now the tradition continues. Merci & Thanks to the cookie chefs and founder of Félix & Norton. I look forward to giving much deserved kudos to him in-person after all these long years.
