The fruit was great. Too bad you don't have anything but plastic to hold the fruit together.

Sparetime is a somewhat unique shop that primarily specializes in 3D puzzles and construction type…read morecrafts based on The Little Prince, Studio Ghibli, and Bandai brands. I was really happy to come across this store in Hillcrest Mall. In terms of Totoro merchandise, there were colour variations I don't normally see, especially green. Of course, there are many sizes and colours of plushies to choose from, but also tote bags, figurines, and some neat in-store art decor that were all different from what I normally find. The really neat section for me is The Little Prince merchandise, which you don't tend to find much of elsewhere. Here, it rivals the extent of the Ghibli selection, with books, clothing, mugs, plushies, and puzzles. I was really eyeing the $45 Fox plushie, which was really nicely made, but I turned to one of their wooden 3D laser cutting puzzles instead, along with a mug that actually is from France. There were several books to choose from that went from toddler to adult level, including an absolutely gorgeous pop-up that really was more like a work of art for the coffee table. It's not a large space, but the amount of stock is still pretty good. The staff were polite and efficient in ringing up my purchases. When I saw the payment terminal I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get a paper receipt, but thankfully, it was provided without a hitch. This store is good enough to make Hillcrest Mall a return destination for me. If you're into Studio Ghible, The Little Prince, or Bandai, I would highly recommend checking them out. If you're into wooden puzzles and unusually themed puzzles as well, same. You can also check out their their website first to see what kind of merchandise they carry. As for me, I will definitely be returning.

I found Broadcast Fantasia by accident. It's near Best Buy and the washrooms at CF Markville Mall…read more To make a long story a lot shorter, in early August, I wanted to hit the food court to use the washroom and grab dinner. I wasn't intending to shop. I hit the food court. It was under construction. The washrooms were closed. The next set of washrooms were by this store and Best Buy. Luckily, I wasn't in emergency bladder mode. By the time I walked over here, I felt like I was close. My bladder was grateful to have made it. Me, too! Afterwards, I checked out this store. It had a lot of merchandise that I liked. The housewares section had Sanrio plates, cups, water bottles, and more. I found a cute Hello Kitty acrylic coaster. I was shocked to find out that a single coaster was going for $30. What?! I realize that a lot of the merchandise in this store is cute and imported. It's also overpriced, especially during this Civic Holiday weekend. There was a sale on selected items. Sadly, this coaster wasn't a part of it. If you like plushies, this store has a decent variety. Again, prices are on the expensive side. I recommend saving up before you shop here. If you love K-pop, this store is for you. There was a new releases section. I liked it. It was a throwback to hitting a record store and getting that album that you're dying to listen to. I found a Keroppi change purse. However, it was fuzzy and I can see it getting dirty quickly. How do you wash it? Likely with care and by hand. It was nice to browse. I hope that this store endures. The prices are pretty steep for what you are getting. (347)

This is my go-to KPOP store as it has the most up to date stock (about 2-3 weeks after release) The staff there are super knowledgeable and friendly! Fans just like us and are willing to help on any way, especially if they have deals or promos, they will tell you about it. The prices are fair (basically like Amazon+shipping) so totally worth it. And most times, with new releases, they have pre-order bonuses (you can also pre-order online and pick up in store)

I have been to this post office twice in my lifetime. My most recent visit was odd…read more My home post office isn't here. It's at the Shoppers Drug Mart. I do FlexDelivery often. I work late and it's best that I stop by the post office to pick up parcels. I had a parcel shipped to my FlexDelivery address. This instance was the first time in which my delivery was sent incorrectly to another post office. In this case, it went to the one at Town Gifts. I received a call on my cell phone last Tuesday afternoon. I was in a meeting. The person didn't leave a message. Less than a minute later, my phone rang again. This time, a message was left. Ten minutes later, when my meeting was over, my phone rang again. I was able to answer the call. It was a woman on the phone indicating that I had a parcel. I was thrilled that my parcel had arrived, but this location is a ten-minute drive further north from my home. She gave me the parcel number and I jotted it down. An hour later, I was driving home from work. My phone rang. The woman called back to indicate that my parcel number had changed. I indicated that I was driving and did not have a pen to jot down the new number. Four phone calls in a day from the post office is excessive, no? The normal FlexDelivery procedure is to get an e-mail with the parcel number and the address of my local post office. Needless to day, this delivery was out of the ordinary. The post office closes at 7 pm on weeknights. I knew that I would not make it on Tuesday night. It's another reason why I like my home post office, which stays open until 9 pm. On Wednesday morning, I drove up to this post office to fetch my parcel. The post office section of the store is crazy busy compared to the gift side of the business. I waited ten minutes to speak to someone at the counter. Naturally, no one here knows who I am at Town Gifts. I am like Norm (Normette?) at my home post office. I walk in and everyone knows who I am. I don't have to present ID. Not at Town Gifts. I presented my mugshot of a driver's licence and got my parcel. I am hoping that I do not have to pick up a parcel at this location. I prefer my home one for many reasons, including a sense of community and no phone calls! (226)
