I really love the Edina Creamery. In the past I have always recommended this place to family and friends, but recently it has seemed to be pretty expensive for what it is. This place has nice location in the 50th and France district. They offer a large selection of flavors and freshly made waffles cones which smell delicious right as you walk through the door. The ice cream itself was ok. I had the triple chocolate which was just plain chocolate ice cream with hard chocolate pieces. The waffle cones were very light and airy and reminded me of a regular cone and weren't very crispy and crunchy like I would want my waffle cone to be. I think the quality and flavor of the ice cream wasn't as good as other places, especially compared to the price. If your in the area and want ice cream it's a nice place to stop, but it is a little expensive for what you get. read more

The smells of waffle cones here are heavenly! They come in various sizes and even dipped in chocolate and sprinkles if you prefer. I also tasted the butter chocolate almond crunch ice cream and it was delish. They have 2 freezer cases with a total of 24 ice cream flavors to choose from. You probably won't notice the second freezer case unless you know it's there. Just know that there is a case in the center and on the end of the counter. I also ordered a cold cut banh mi sandwich which was unfortunately plain and bland. The interior theme was fun and the staff were friendly. Parking is available in the back. I went here with a large group during a hot day of shopping on the France strip. Most of us had a double scoop dish since there were so many flavors to choose from. I remember 2 freezer cases, which was about 24 flavors for that day. I had a praline crunch and mint chocolate chip. I was slightly disappointed that there was also no vegetarian options (I would have loved to bring one home for my mom). The server, however, was super sweet and gave me many recommendations. I do admit some other Minneapolis creameries and banh mi stores are far superior-- but if I don't want to drive all the way there to get my fix, I can count on Edina Creamery. Right after looking at the luxury garage sale, my wife treated me to ice cream for me. I ended up picking the green tea since it was her favorite. As soon as I heard after our dinner in cute little Edina, that they have a real Creamery, our little group made a beeline there immediately. I've been craving a hot fudge sundae for months now...and my wish was fulfilled here...their rich and thick ice cream was amazing. One scoop of mint chocolate chip that tasted unlike any fakey mint choco chip I'd ever had...this was the real deal mint and it was almost SPICY. A scoop of malted milk ball...because I'd never really had an ice cream that was malted anything (I didn't even know what a malt was til recently!)...oodles of hot fudge and whipped cream and nuts. The service is great and the ice cream is excellent though the place could use some cleaning up. there are boxes and storage items clogging the back hallway. with a bit of a make over it would fit in better with the surrounding businesses. Toffee Coffee was my favorite! nice coffee flavor with some little bits of chocolate and salty toffee crunches. The green tea ice cream is really smooth but has a soft flavor. The mint chip is so-so, a little too artificial mint taste. We got a few 1/2 pints to take home and share among our group. It gets pretty busy in the summer but the service is pretty quick.
