Clotilde operates out of Napiers Clinic, Bristo Square as well as SOMA Osteopathy down in Leith…read more She is fantastic. She makes you feel very comfortable while she works, communicating with you about what she's finding and what is often the cause for that particular imbalance/etc. I've been seeing Clotilde on and off for years. I first went to her about a specific problem in relation to my neck. She gently worked with my joints/muscles/spine/pelvis and gave me a few stretches and exercises to work on. After only just a couple of sessions with her, I've been fine ever since. I saw her recently about pregnancy related pain. She has quite a lot of experience working with pregnant women and made sure the whole time that the bump and I were comfortable and supported while she worked. I left feeling quite a bit better with with firm instructions to NOT CROSS MY LEGS. I love practitioners who give you advice and exercises to ensure that the pain doesn't come back - in doing so they're actually creating a situation where you don't need to visit them repeatedly and it means that they're more interested in helping you to get better than making money.

Harmonic was recommended by a colleague, and after the initial consultation, it was clear that this was something different. My back is as good as new, and I haven't been troubled for some time. Robbie recommended monthly appointments, and to be free from pain, this is a price worth paying. Sore back...? Give this guy a go.

I thankfully evaded it, but around October time this place was swarming with red-nosed, pale-faced students and the doctors coped with it well. I did have to come here when I hurt my shoulder playing rugby. I was seen to by a particularly attractive and young GP who was very attentive. She also gave me plenty of helpful advice on how to recover and avoid future injury. The secretarial staff are also really friendly and there are plenty of informative pamphlets to read through as you wait. Definitely worth being signed up to them if you're a local student or resident.

I have only been for one massage here but it was fine. I would have gone back if I hadn't happened to have found one that suited me needs a lot more (see my FASIC review). It was a fairly standard affair. All I can say is that it was relaxing and acted as pain relief, although I didn't feel it was as satisfying long term form my problem as other physios I've had in Edinburgh. An 45 minute physio appointment costs £40 (slightly above average), an hour massage costs around £40 (unfortunately that's about average). I get he impression that Lippstreu is quiet a new centre, and is possibly still establishing itself. We will need to wait and see if it becomes successful. So far, no complaints, but it doesn't stand out as the best.

I'm an avid cyclist and the prospect of an extended period off the bike was daunting. I chose it purely on the basis that it was close to my place of work but would now recommend it on the basis of service received. The problem with my knee was diagnosed quickly and without fuss and then a very effective treatment was proposed and carried out. After two visits my knee has seen a fantastic recovery. I don't normally write reviews, in fact this is my first, but I'm so pleased I felt compelled.

The girl at reception was lovely and friendly and very accomodating when I was booking an appointment, and the facilities were clean and well set-up. The stand out though, was Isla, my masseuse. She took time to go through my form (I'm used to that never being looked at when I've had other massages!) and ask me a few additional questions about my back pain, causes, etc. She was incredibly aware of the back/body/muscles on me as an individual and tailored the massage for my own aches and pains rather than just running through a routine. She practices a number of different types of massage and clearly enjoys what she does, resulting in what sounds like quite a few regulars who she enjoys working with because she enjoys freeing people from their pain and generally making them feel better. I absolutely didn't want my session to end. Deep Tissue is not generally known as being relaxing but she managed to get deep into my muscles without causing pain and making it a wonderful and relaxing experience. She finished by showing me a few stretches which would help to open up my muscles and help to alleviate desk-job related aches and pains. I was so impressed. I've been to a few masseuses and I've never before been so impresed with someone's skill. I definitely plan to return (though, when they're having a sale... it's a bit on the pricey side!).

Good wife tries to fix hubby - calls round all her athlete friends for recommendations - one name comes out on top: Guy Van Herp. It was quite easy to get an appointment, so we made our way into the basement rooms of Meadowbank. Very basic surroundings for such a prestigious, experienced Doctor of Physiotherapy but based on the raving recommendations we don't let that put us off. After all - a sports centre is a logical place for a physiotherapist who specialises in sports (working with world class athletes) and there is free parking in a central location. My husband was very nervous so wanted me there the whole time. As soon as we meet Dr. Van Herp we are put at ease. Very kind, friendly and knowledgeable. One of the reasons we choose him was his reputation for making quick, accurate diagnoses. Within minutes we had our answer - torn meniscus - but not too bad, possible to heal with care and determination. Not wanting surgery, my hubby agreed to be a model patient and do everything to the letter. So far we have had 2 appointments which included assessment, stretches, exercises, ultrasound and laser light therapy. the knee is getting better and my husband feels better having a diagnosis and a programme to follow. Dr. Van Herp was excellent at explaining what was wrong, what each part of the programme is going to do and how to execute the plan. It's early days but we feel like we are in very good hands.
