    Shrimp and Chips

My Husband and I have been trying new restaurants all over the West Valley. Tonight we tried Ed's Fish and Chips and we were so impressed! You can literally smell the food cooking when you walk in and the restaurant is very clean. We ordered the 10 piece and 7 piece shrimp and chips. We also tried the fried zucchini which was fresh and delicious! The owner Mark told us that the shrimp is breaded fresh daily. Mark also told us that the restaurant has been there for 40 years but that he just took it over last July. The shrimp had great flavor and it tasted fresh not frozen. The french fries were cooked perfectly. The staff is very friendly and the owner Mark was very welcoming. We usually eat everything on site but tonight we came home with some food. The portions are generous. Well worth the drive from Glendale or anywhere in the valley. We cannot wait to go back next Friday. We will be trying the catfish next. We highly recommend this place. Follow them on Instagram.

    This is the dinner.

So the fish is square frozen patties like Pete's but only tough and chewy. The shrimp is terrible. Just mostly over cooked and no taste or resemblance of fish. The lady at the front was very nice and she came and asked how it was and when explained she just replied I am Not the owner or anything. The family setting is nice. It's extremely overpriced. The portions are a good size if it was edible.

We used to like eating here but not anymore. This was our last time coming to this place. Where is the fish? We spent $30 for deep fried burnt breading.

This is a burger from Ed's. They serve perfect diner-style burgers, and I don't know what that means but I know that I love it.

We came back here and it was just as good as before. The same family has owned this joint for like 40 years, and I hope they keep it going for generations to come. It's quiant, unpretentious, friendly, and just downright perfect.

Good food! Prices are a lil high but over all enjoyed the food more than I do at petes.

Definitely better than the Pete's in Tolleson, especially the burgers and chicken sandwich

Really good hangover/comfort food. Veggie combo my favorite . Plus can't go wrong with the fish.

I left to make an appointment at the nearby nail salon and came back and they were still back there frying my fish - which, as mentioned, was chef's kiss otherwise. I loved my blue pineapple/coconut milk drink. This place is known for its beverages. Can't complain.

The waitress was attentive the whole time, bathrooms were clean, and I really appreciated how mindful the staff was with my deaf friend. That always stands out to me. The calamari was okay. I liked it, but my friend said she's definitely had better. I also had to ask for lemon with the calamari. Last time I came with a friend they were completely out of lemons, so I was glad that wasn't an issue this time. I'd probably try something different instead of the calamari next visit though. We got the Pier 88 combo crab boil with the "All of the Above" seasoning in mild. It came out super quick and was very well seasoned. I personally thought it leaned a little salty, but I also saw other tables adding extra salt to their food, so I guess it just depends on your taste. Portions were good and everything tasted delicious. Very kid-friendly spot, pretty loud and lively inside, and honestly a great place for hosting bigger groups, family get-togethers, or even just catching up with a friend over drinks and seafood. I've been here before and would definitely come back again.

We started with the clam chowder, which was extremely watered down and completely lacking in flavor. It tasted more like soup that had been diluted than a proper chowder. We also ordered shrimp with the Pier 88 seasoning, but the spices were barely noticeable--there was almost no seasoning at all, which is pretty disappointing for a place that markets itself around bold flavors. The service was just okay--nothing terrible, but nothing that made up for the food. Overall, the experience didn't live up to the hype, and we won't be returning.

I would say the "hot" for Cajun tastebuds would be mild it's always nice to know what fits they're oysters are purged and delicious as far as I can tell it's an all year option. Prices here are fair as the quality is good. Heard one person mention the sauce is good at pier 88 but everything else is better here...I'd take cooked to perfection than a little better sauce.
