I just came from my first meeting with Mr. Magauran and I have to say that after speaking with Mr. Magauran on the phone, I felt very comfortable setting up an appt. to meet with him. I brought all my debt information and my social security disability insurance information and we discussed everything in detail before he entered the relevant information onto the necessary paperwork. Throughout the whole meeting there was a lot of paperwork that needed my signature and everything was explained thoroughly to me so that I knew what I was signing and we proceeded through the meeting at my pace. I never felt rushed or talked down to like another attorney I used for different reasons. He gave me a pile of papers and told me to sign where ever he highlighted the line in yellow. I had no idea what any of it was. He also made me feel like he set aside 15 minutes for me and he rushed through our meeting to keep it down to 15 minutes. With Mr. Magauran, anything that needed my signature he handed to me 1 paper at a time and explained what each paper I signed was. He was so thorough and understanding and made me feel like I was an important client of his. I can't imagine anyone using any other bankruptcy lawyer. If you decide bankruptcy is your only option, you should call Ed Magauran first and don't even bother with other attorneys. There just is no need, when you can just call the best and have everything taken care of for you along with you understanding your part in the bankruptcy proceedings. I looked over some of the reviews. To respond, yes, I am a real person. Here I am, 4 years later, and life is good. I don't use credit cards, only a debit card. To explain, it took 1 visit to Ed Magauran's office. My husband and I sat there for 4 hours as Ed typed our info into bankruptcy forms. He then filed the forms electronically to the bankruptcy court and we got our case number right then and there. He charged us $300/hour x 4 hours plus the fee to file the case in bankruptcy court. Total cost was $1506 but it would be more now because his hourly rate went up. Thankfully, Mr. Magauran provided the required debt education so we did not have to go hunting for it. His office was paperless with not one piece of paper. So the remarks about clothes and bachelor's pad seem unlike Mr. Magauran. He had a pic of his wife and child. He said he went to high schools to provide debt education. Maybe he has changed but I remember him as cordial and efficient. It does take work on the client's part. I brought my file box of 1 year of receipts, neatly organized by month. The bankruptcy judge, Elizabeth A. Kane, didn't approve some cases because they did not provide the required receipts. We did not sit in court too long, Mr. Magauran accompanied us and the cases before us went quickly. The bankruptcy took 3 months from filing to the time we received our bankruptcy letter in the mail.
