We both ordered the soup and sandwich special. The Tomato soup was wonderful. It reminded me of a Tomato Bisque that we enjoyed in Jasper a couple of years ago. This soup did not come out of a can. The sandwich was delicious. I knew it would be special when she gave us four choices for the bread type. I had a multigrain rye. My wife had regular multigrain. We were both very pleased with our choices. The coffee was average but there were unlimited refills which I needed more than the finest blends. The service was beyond excellent. If you find yourself in the Forestburg area I highly recommend this delightful cafe for breakfast or lunch. They are not open late.

The food is great, portions are generous, prices - fair, and the staff is welcoming. It's a dated building that requires a lot of work, but considering you are located in a ghost town, it's more than acceptable. If you are passing through Viking, definitely stop by for delicious pizza or donair. If you feel like going on adventure, make sure to use their washroom. It's clean and bright, and everything, but getting there is quite an interesting feat in itself. Not for the faint of heart. :)

We chatted with the owner as he was very friendly and interesting. The ambiance is casual and comfortable. They are licensed to sell alcohol as well as the food and coffee. The establishment is much larger than it looks as there is another section in the back that is not readily apparent when you first walk in. Talk to the owner about motorcycles and you'll make a friend. I'm sure that we'll be back. After all, Tofield is only 45 minutes from Edmonton.
