After hearing and seeing all the hype , the girls decided we will give this famous breakfast spot a try. We first went to another location closer to the resort and the host was so rude , we walked away and found this location on Yelp. I was able to use Yelp to get on the waitlist which helped shaved 29 mins off ( thankssss) Everyone at this location was friendly and engaging. I loved that this one was 2 stories with an open balcony . We ordered coffee , teas and brunch and everything was incredibly delicious that we took a to go order as well ! Mahea was our server and was such a good vibe ! We loved her !!! 10/10 all around !

Unreal! Best loco moco I've had. Their sauce mixed with fresh mushrooms was so good! There's always going to be a wait so prepare for that.

Breakfast food is delicious!!! Staff friendly. Ordered French toast and pancakes. Serving size is huge worth to share. However, you need to be really early cause long wait if you're not there prior to doors opening. Worth the place to have bfast in Waikiki.

Fried rice - lots of yummy stuff inside.

This is a "must eat here" when in Waikiki! We were here 10 years ago and couldn't wait to return. It was just as wonderful!!! When you go ask for Jin. His personality is the best! Tye place is small and your neighbor sits close. In the Aloha spirit; just embrace it and enjoy.

This location is not my favorite; I prefer Ala Moana, but today they were closed because their power was out. The Saratoga location is smaller and parking is more difficult. I end up having to pay at the post office nearby, and the smallest number of hours you can pay for is 2 hours at over $11, so it's a ridiculous charge for parking in my opinion--and Ala Moana has free parking in their lot. Strike two: there's not only a 3% kitchen surcharge but also a 3% credit card surcharge. Why not just charge more for your food items and then pay the kitchen staff more/give them a raise? Ultimately it would be the same price but I will feel less like I am being nickel-and-dimed. Having multiple surcharges just feels different to me as a customer than paying more for my meal. I guess it's hidden costs versus up-front costs. In any case, you might not know about the kitchen surcharge until you get your receipt to check out. Ultimately, I always enjoy the food at Eggs 'n Things. The fresh fruit rainbow pancakes are some of my favorites, and the waffles are great too. The fruit is fresh and the whipped cream is a huge amount. But when I check out and not only am I paying $21.99 for my pancakes, $17.99 for my partner's waffle, nearly $10 for two coffees, and then 3% for kitchen staff, 3% for credit card surcharge, 4.712% Hawai'i sales tax, and now my meal is near $70, plus the parking next door for $11, a meal out for two people is getting dangerously close to a hundred bucks. I live in Waikiki and there are cheaper places for me to eat that are just as delicious. Eggs 'n Things, I've been coming here for years and I love you, but you are getting close to pricing me out for breakfast at your place.

We have been to the Eggs 'n Things in the Ko Olina location so many times (over the last 3 times we have been to Oahu); this was the first time at this location since we were staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Service: The service was great. Ambiance: The ambiance was nice and clean. Food: We all got our favorites and they were great: * Pancakes with strawberries and blueberries: My younger son and wife shared this and it was delicious...very VERY generous helping of the whipped cream. * Veggie Omelette: You guessed it...I got my old favorite here (with egg whites)...it was OK (I have had better but it was a generous portion!) * Eggs and bacon: My older son got the eggs and bacon and it was tasty (per him) but the portion as you will see from the pic was small. I would recommend this location but we all preferred the Ko Olina location much more. I will give it 4 stars...you should go if you are thinking about it!

Took my parents here for lunch since we haven't tried this location yet. Food: Decent but expected better from such a popular spot. Salmon Benedict was okay, sauce was a bit bland. Using taro bread was a nice touch! Omelette was good. Not too salty. Pancakes were not as fluffy as we would've liked. I've always raved about their coconut syrup. It's so good and definitely elevated the pancakes. Even my picky parents enjoyed it, which says a lot! Service: Our server was friendly & the food came out fairly quickly. We were seated on the 2nd floor on a hot day. Not ideal for open-air seating (no AC). Parking: There's no dedicated lot. They suggested parking at the post office across the street ($10 for 2 hrs); we managed to find a metered spot nearby.

Waited over our wait time and there was a lot of empty tables but we understand that there could be understaffing. Ask for countertop if you want to wait less we weren't aware you can do that. We got the macadamia nut pancakes which were regular pancakes which were a little dry plus macadamia nuts on top powered sugar we added whipped cream, these needed syrup and wish we liked them more but they were simple. The kalbi was a small portion, the eggs and rice were good. The marinated meat was flavorful but was a little touch and not as tender as others I'd had on the island. Overall we wouldn't wait for this place luckily we got on the yelp waitlist but still ended up waiting a lot longer than expected. It's a cute little spot with a lot of souvenirs you can take home which we did take home for some friends. I like the shop a lot.

    Downstairs entrance

Wait time was extremely long. Checking in the wait list early made no difference. Not child friendly if you have infants in strollers.

If you are over 10 you can order off the kids menu but there is a $2.00 surcharge....

Our experience wasn't the best, but it had some positives. We were dining in downtown Waikiki, so it wasn't surprising that several breakfast menu items featured pineapple--yet the kitchen was completely out of pineapples that day and this was 8am. That felt like a miss given the location. That said, the food itself was quite good. The fried rice with eggs, French toast special, coconut crepes, and chocolate chip pancakes were all well-portioned for the price and tasted great. No complaints on flavor or serving size. Where things became frustrating was the bill. There was a 3% surcharge for using a credit card, plus an additional fee supposedly to support the kitchen staff. On top of that, they recommend a 20% tip. All the extra charges made the experience feel a bit nickel-and-dimed, which took away from an otherwise solid meal. Overall, good food and fair portions, but the missing ingredients and added fees left a sour note.

There was a line but didn't have to wait that long. We went from #9 on the waitlist to #2 in about 5 minutes. I didn't realize how small and outdated the place was. It needs a total makeover! Esp the single seating, they were basically facing an empty boring wall Staff super friendly. Food came fast but it was just ok. Nothing to write home about. The hyped up fried rice I read about on the other reviews was nothing to hype about ‍ We deconstructed the rainbow pancakes bec we wanted to taste the macadamia nut pancakes on its own. A little disappointing but we still ate it :) 4 stars for the staff. 3 stars for the Food and 1 star for the ambiance.

Monday morning breakfast - check in downstairs- self serve and put your name on the list(through the yelp app) Unfortunately the app or the store went down at the exact moment I entered my name - saw I was 7 on the list then all disappeared- technical glitch When you head upstairs to eat it is very old school diner Hawaii vibes - the coffee is hot and strong (if you like that sort of thing - and I do) our server was lovely (sorry I don't remember your name but the blue and gold nail polish modeled from your daughters prom dress were fire) I had the loco moco- I was not expecting it to be as wonderful as it was - the sautéed onions that were intentional were the difference maker for me - gravy didn't steal the show and the eggs were prepared to perfection! My friend had the French toast with blueberries - I'm not sure her description but I know she didn't leave any on her plate:) Thanks again for the best loco moco and making the morning. Delish

Food: 3/5 The omelet was really good! Packed with veggies and cheese and done really well! The side of potatoes were tasty and crispy! The only reason I dinged the food rating was because of the loco moco. Unfortunately the meat patty tasted sour and rubbery. Hard to explain what the flavor is but it honestly tasted spoiled. My partner couldn't digest it. Everything was good though. Service: 5/5 The waitress took care of us nicely. Checked in with us a few times despite it being crowded. We really appreciated the gentleman who offered us a discount for the loco moco. Overall: 4.5 Location is great, the service was great, and the food was good for the most part. I'd come again :)

Do they still serve mochi waffles, or mochi pancakes?

Yes, we do. At all 4 Oahu locations.

    Do they serve oatmeal?

Unfortunately they don’t serve oatmeal. But they do have a great variety of other breakfast options!

Do they still have gluten-free waffles? Somebody wrote a review about their gluten-free waffles? And does anyone know if they serve oatmeal?

Yes to oatmeal no to gluten free

Is all the seating upstairs? What if someone is in a wheelchair?

We have two tables on the first floor designated as ADA seating.

Do they do grubhub or DoorDash?

Yes, they do. As well as other delivery options.

Can you make reservations or is it waitlist/walk-in only?

Waitlist walk-in only! But you can add yourself to the waitlist on yelp to help save time before you get there

Dear Eggs & Things: If you have a reservation do you have to wait in line?…

If you're not a fan of seafood, don't let the squid deter you as it is a minimal part of the dish and added more of a crunchy textural component rather than actual flavor. This was my wife and my favorite dish. The luau pork was also very good though I liked the version we had at Toa Luau better. We also liked the haupia which was a very refreshing coconut pudding though for some reason our boys didn't like it. We also tried pipikaula which are thinly sliced dry-aged beef short ribs marinated in soy sauce and something else that made it sweet. If you know Korean barbeque, you'll instantly get the sensation that these are close cousins to galbi, though the pipikaula are much less sweet in comparison. The dry aging process also makes them a bit more dryer than galbi. On to more difficult stuff. I was enthusiastic about the fried butterfish collar but once I got a waft of the dish, I knew I was in trouble. I'm very sensitive when it comes to fish so the smell (more than the taste) was off putting. My wife was fine with it and enjoyed the dish, but if you aren't a fan of fishy fish, then I would skip it. The lomi salmon looked very much like pico de gallo with the addition of salt-cured salmon. My boys loved this dish because they love salmon but again I would steer clear if you are a seafood weakling like me. Alas, we come to poi. Had my hopes up since I love taro but the texture and a bit of sourness from fermentation deterred me from trying too much of it. I'm glad we tried it but not sure that we would get it again.

The staff was super nice about it and was able to accommodate us, with only a small request that we be out by 8pm since there was another big party with a reservation coming in. Absolutely reasonable. They sat us right away at three large tables, which gave us plenty of space for food and didn't force us to sit super close together. Menus, waters, plates, napkins, and forks were all brought out immediately, and our waiter was quick to take our order. We started with the prix fixe menu for 8-10 guests and were going to add other items à la carte, but a handful of our group accidentally went to the other Side Street location (make sure your group is all on the same page), so what we ordered ended up being more than enough. We left stuffed and with 5 boxes of food still. Edamame was nice and steamy, and large enough to easily pop the beans out with your mouth. Wish there was a bit more salt though. The farmer's salad had everything going on from citrusy to salty to crispy. Avocado had a little bit of oxidation but the capers, dressing and potato curls provided plenty of reasons to overlook it. The fried rice came in a hefty portion, with sizable pieces of bacon and sausage. The chicken I didn't realize was boneless based on the shape of the deep fry, but it was nice to freely bite into it without worrying about hitting anything with my teeth. Probably a bit too much on fried bits but still good. Pork chops had a better meat to crisp ratio in my opinion, as well as juiciness. They even came with ketchup on the side, which I love as a pairing but don't see much of at restaurants. My favorite meat item was definitely the sizzling boneless kalbi. The presentation on the sizzling plate with a side of kimchi was spectacular, and the meat was full of flavor. We also ordered yakisoba, which wasn't part of the prix fixe. Tasted good but nothing past standard expectations. We let the waiter know we had a 30th birthday at the table, and they brought a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream with a candle, and did a decent job getting the whole room to participate in the singing. It could also be the type of crowd this place attracts, since it seemed that everyone was so friendly and approachable. Thanks to the quick and consistent service, we were out in a little over an hour with no complaints.

DO NOT FRET! this is a touristy area i understand their goal is to make bank. this is located in downtown waikiki where all my wonderful tourists (including me) like to walk and see uhh fellow tourists. service is fast cause everything is premade! the spicy tuna onigiri is good but not great. i wish it was mixed better since sometimes i got plain tuna and others a whole mouthful of sriracha. the shrimp avocado spam musubi was pretty good except the shrimp tempura was soggy. make sure you get a musubi with a fresh looking cut of avocado. they use great fluffy thick rice here! yum yum. overall a good pricey snack while walking around!

I loved it here. Truly a hole in the wall. Parking is really tough so street parking is usually…read moregonna be the norm unless you get lucky in their tiny shared parking lot. The guava bar was delicious and flavorful and just crumbles in your mouth! Definitely one of the better guava bars I've tried. Love how crumbly it is. The salmon belly was delicious OMFG. It looks so simple and straightforward but that sht is so flavorful. It is crispy and yet soft on the inside. The salmon belly is cut into bite-sized pieces so I didn't have to worry about using a knife to cut it. I usually try salmon belly where it is usually seasoned lightly to bring out the natural flavor of the salmon, but Guava Smoked's salmon belly is just grilled in a way that makes the salmon sweet/crispy and still get traces of the salmon taste as well. It's definitely not your traditional Japanese-style way of cooking salmon belly but really just their own. I'd go back and get this again. Another thing too. I'd get this with beer. This would hit very hard with alcohol but because I don't drink I need a kombucha. The grilled salmon belly would go perfect with it. Cheers! Uncle was very helpful and kind when serving and if you dine-in he brings it to your table.

The guy at the counter wasn't the most people person ever, but he also got the job done. Didn't get a photo of the guava cake brownie thing they have, but it was really yummy.

3.5 stars We wanted…read moreto try authentic Hawaiian food and came across this spot. The owner was very friendly and took the time to recommend dishes for us, including the laulau and lechon kawali. We also ordered the BBQ short ribs. Overall, it was a good experience trying Hawaiian food, but it's just not really our type of cuisine. The laulau was quite dry, and the preparation felt more like meat that had been boiled or cooked in liquid, which isn't something I usually enjoy. The lechon kawali had a crispy pork belly texture, topped with something similar to a salsa, but it didn't suit our taste either. Unfortunately, the cabbage served with it also had some black spots, which was off-putting. The BBQ short ribs were the highlight of the meal and the dish we enjoyed the most. We appreciate the experience and the hospitality, but the flavors just didn't quite match our personal preferences.

Then someone wanted to change from rice to poi. I tried many times and no one answered. Their voice mailbox was full. We e ended going there to make the change. He gentleman looked like he was working be himself. We bads to wait almost a half hour for him to finish the order. 2. Price - the prices were higher than expected. All the plates were $26.00 and up. 3. Food - The poi was very tasty and fresh, although a bit watery. The lau lau had a lot of lean pork filling, not a lot of leaves. The long rice didn't have much chicken and was a bit watery too. We enjoyed the sweet potato. There was also lomi salmon, haupia onion and chili pepper water. 4. As mentioned before there isn't much parking. The restaurant wasn't busy when we got there. Overall the food and service was OK. The price was a bit high.
