I worked with EWG to obtain a quote via request by EWG to send numerous measurements along with pictures for a quote. They do not come and see the actual job, nor will you get to speak to someone in the know for specific questions about your job in person. It is recommended to send numerous emails with your questions. I complied with all EWG's requirements to obtain a quote.
Once I received the quote, I signed the required proposal paperwork and had 3 questions about the disclosure they require signature on prior to scheduling a job. I was told I needed to speak with "Tiffany" in the office for these questions. My first call with Tiffany was immediately obvious customer service was not her strength. Tiffany seemed extremely put out that I had any questions at all? I quickly got off the call and tried to find my answers elsewhere, by contacting the original field rep I spoke to initially. I let him know that Tiffany seemed put out about my question so could he help me? He apologized and stated that I would have to work through the office staff on proposal paperwork. Tiffany communicated via email that she would pass my questions on to the owner whom she said name was "Don Weld" to get back to me. When a few days passed, I followed up via email and phone to see if I could get resolution and clarity on my questions. This call unfortunately was also answered by "Tiffany." Thinking she may have just been having a bad day the first time, I again tried to ask her my first question. After my first question that she did not seem to know the answer to she started to sigh very heavily into the phone... I let her know that I heard her heavy sighs and that she seemed like she was frustrated? She proceeded to tell me that I am the only person that has ever asked EWG any questions on their disclosure statement? She continued to berate me, by saying "Most people just sign it!" I was very perplexed? 1. Even if this were true, is this a problem for EWG to answer questions on their own Disclosure? 2. What company in any industry says this to a customer who has a legitimate inquiry? 3. What is EWG or Tiffany hiding, by suggesting a customer should sign a disclosure without reading it?
I then asked again to speak with someone who could help me? Tiffany stated again she would have the owner contact me. I did tell her I wanted to provide the owner "Don" feedback on my experience with EWG. Tiffany was the person who originally suggested that I speak to the owner... I did not request this, however I agreed to do so. The next day I followed up again after Tiffany sent another email stating information that again was mis-represented due to the fact they will only communicate in email once you submit your approval in writing to EWG. If you have one question on the paperwork you as the customer are required to sign, they will make you feel like you are putting them out.
I am fortunate I was able to see this unprofessional behavior "prior" to any work commencing.
Just know that you will spend extensive time providing EWG emails, measurements, pictures, signed documents, signed letters they request from your home owner associations that you must obtain.... to only then... after all the time you as the customer spends getting EWG what THEY need, to provide you a quote so they do not have to come on site. They will then make YOU feel like you are putting them out if you want to ask 3 questions on their disclosure statement.. that you are by the way... "Required" to sign.
Egress Window Guy erroneously required I pay them a large fee to pull a permit for this work. After contacting my city, a permit is not required for the replacement of an existing "window well." Many other companies that do this same work confirmed this, since it is not changing the structure internally or externally to your home or dwelling. Again... customers "beware" of companies such as (Egress Window Guy) inflating proposals and costs that are not needed or required.
Most of the inconvenience was on the part of an extremely unprofessional employee named Tiffany. However never at any time did the owner "Don Weld" try to understand or contact me after numerous requests by his staff as well as myself via email. Tiffany most likely did not pass on to him any of her unprofessional actions.
Or, EWG's owner has no interest in following the statements they claim to adhere to on their website. Either way, with many other companies out there that offer this same service, why would one risk the time spent providing the company all they have requested to then be subjected to unprofessional sighs and tone that goes against everything you will read on their website.
I hope I can save another busy home-owner or busy business customer valuable time by taking the time to write this review. Who has time for unprofessional professionals? read more
