    Cinnamon Roll Basket
    Becca S.

Stopped by Eight4Nine on a Saturday morning for brunch. The service was attentive, and all the food we ordered was fantastic. Highly recommend ordering the cinnamon roll basket for the table to share, the chiffon frosting was light, airy, and delicious. The gentleman at the hostess stand at the entrance was super sweet and took multiple pictures for us.

Surprised this place doesn't have 5.0 rating. When we went we had a cute weekend with our daughter so we were pleased that they had mocktails. Then we found out our server Debbie (who was amazing by the way) was sober. She told us her sobriety date which was exact same as my moms! Just thought that was so neat. Love the inside decor and the fact that it is in the dessert makes it even better. We love palm springs and visit every year from San Diego. Can't wait to come here later this year and see what's new with 849!

Eight4Nine is located right in downtown Palm Springs and has a large outdoor patio that's heated, dog-friendly, and able to accommodate larger groups. We had our dogs with us and were seated outside right away by the GM (possibly the owner), who was welcoming and attentive. When our heater didn't work, he quickly replaced it and checked back in when it looked like our server hadn't arrived yet (he had and was just grabbing our drinks). There's also an indoor dining option upstairs that feels quiet and removed from the street. Service here is on the slower side, which we noticed throughout the patio, not just at our table. It didn't feel inattentive so much as unhurried, like the restaurant encourages you to settle in and enjoy the evening rather than rush through a meal. Our server was friendly, made a few jokes, and kept things light, even if we didn't see him often. We started with the corn and crab chowder, though the menu description was confusing regarding the crab. The entree is where things fell a bit flat for me. I ordered the bucatini and found the fennel overpowering. I only ate about a quarter of it, which was disappointing since this was my birthday dinner. My husband agreed (and that's saying something since he's a human garbage disposal). His skirt steak was well seasoned, and the corn pudding was the standout - smooth, lightly sweet, and well balanced. Overall, a pleasant atmosphere and smooth teamwork from the staff. Wonderfully presented birthday dessert.

I chose this spot specifically for their Thanksgiving menu--I was really excited to have duck for the holiday. The restaurant was packed, and it's a pretty large place, so even though we arrived right on time, we still waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Service felt off from the start. Our server was MIA for long stretches, and there were unusually long gaps between courses. Once we finished our meal, we waited at least 30 minutes before he checked on us, and then even longer to receive the bill. For the price of the fixed menu, it just didn't feel worth it. The flavors were decent but nothing memorable, and the dishes didn't taste particularly fresh. Overall, it was an okay meal, but it left us feeling underwhelmed.

Had brunch here for my bday with a friend as part of my desert bday weekend. Found the place on Yelp. Cool place - totally perfect for a bachelorette or girls bday. Food and drinks were great. Service was good. Parking was easy on the street.

This is a 5+++++ review! I rented one of the rooms for a corporate function, and the entire experience was exceptional from start to finish. The team was incredibly easy to work with and completely accommodating throughout the planning process. When we arrived, the tables were beautifully decorated and everything was perfectly set up. The staff was absolutely wonderful and professional. Lynn and Delia were hands down the best servers -- they truly made the evening special for both me and my guests. They went above and beyond in every way. When we were running out of time, they even helped us stuff gift boxes. They rearranged the room multiple times without hesitation and tracked down a USB cord for us -- none of which was technically their responsibility, but they did whatever we needed with a smile. The food was outstanding. The ahi appetizer was my personal favorite, though many of my guests raved about the Reuben (not usually my thing). The fried bacon with maple syrup was pure perfection. The Chicken Milanese was absolutely to die for -- the beurre blanc cream sauce was rich and flavorful, and the capers added the perfect finishing touch. And dessert... the 849 caramel macchiato cake was incredible -- light, airy, and completely delicious. We attend this conference every year, and after this experience, we will absolutely be back. My guests were blown away by the venue, the food, and especially the service. Lynn and Delia -- we'll see you next time!

Chill outdoor vibe. Great for mu friend and pup. Loved the cocktail "California Water", guacamole, arugula beet salad, and poke bowl. Service was good and friendly. Great location in Palm Springs.

What an elegant restaurant! Inside was amazing design, the details of everything, the chairs , the tables, the pictures, everything spot on! The service was quick and polite. The food was fresh and very flavorful. I loved my cappuccino and my chocolate cake . I also had a rib sandwich, was pretty great too. I totally see how great this place is to hang out! We were just passing by and very glad that stopped by here. Totally recommend!

Great place for our wedding welcome party!

Loved having our wedding welcome party at one of my favorite restaurants in Palm Springs, Eight4Nine, and wanted to share the same wonderful experience with my guests that we have when we dine there! First of all , Josh Calderon, the manager/events coordinator. is amazing to work with; providing several options for me even when my date and headcount seemed to constantly change. He was very responsive, always accommodating and just the best to communicate with. The front patio was perfect for our event of just over 40 people; easy to find for our guests and provided just enough space for us to mingle as well as sit and chat. Coming from our rehearsal, our space was ready on arrival and we were greeted warmly by the staff. The service was impeccable, extremely attentive and still warm and friendly. It was unusually hot that evening (yes, even hotter than expected for Palm Springs!) so the overhead misters spaced throughout were lovely and gave our guests that just arrived from a long drive down from the Bay Area, a nice welcome and a reprieve from the heat. And, as expected, the passed hors d' oeuvres were fantastic and there always seemed to be a server there to offer my guests with a new treat! We felt very attended to and were never in need of anything. Sadly, Josh was not there during our welcome party and I wanted to say thank you to him in person. When back in town, I'll plan to stop in again to see him as well as have another amazing meal and cocktail!

I had been waiting to go to this restaurant for months. The price point is high so I wanted to save it for a special occasion so we waited to go for my birthday this year. I will say the ambience is amazing sitting outside. It was very nice and the service was great as well as our server was very friendly and professional. Also having the lights around outside, made it very calming. Although the service and ambience was great the food was lacking. There isn't a lot of options on the menu so it was hard to make a choice, but we went with the Carne Asada plate and the ravioli. Both my boyfriend and I once we ate our food, we were not satisfied and we actually had to go get more food because of the portion was so small for him. He needed extra. I was also not happy with the ravioli. It had an odd taste and was not very impressed. I don't think we'll be back here again, but it was good to try it out, but I'll stick with some of my other favorite restaurants in Palm Springs such as sand fish.

Chilaquiles, short rib hash, and lobster roll
    Allison C.

This is such a cute place! We loved the art work on the walls and the fact that they had purse trees/hangers to place your purse during your visit. The Chilaquiles were delicious. I loved the flavor, but there was not enough spice for me. They were not soggy, but not crunchy either. I guess a good place in the middle. Short rib hash was absolutely delicious. Great flavor. Kind of sweet. Perfectly poached egg. This place has generous portions when it comes to their food. Even the labneh was huge and filling. The mimosa came with two refills which was also an amazing deal. I'd definitely recommend this place for a fun little brunch

Short rib hash was sweet and savory

Set up a bachelorette brunch here in a private room and I was so happy with the space, service, and food! We enjoyed cocktails and mocktails with generously portioned options including French toast, chilaquiles, burger, short rib hash and a Cobb salad. They also allowed an order form the dinner menu - lobster roll. It was so nice and to chat in private and enjoy our meals, which were all tasty and beautifully presented. I can't wait to go back!

I Was in Palm Springs for a late lunch and I wanted a good steak . My wife and I ordered the Steak Frites off the lunch menu and had a couple drinks !!!! Cooked to perfection with lots of Flavor! My wife had the lemon Martini and their mock Ginger spritzer but added a Vodka We will be back. Cool vibe and good service. They have a cool bar area and outside seating as well !

We sat on the patio, which was surprisingly cool and comfortable, so don't let the Palm Springs heat scare you away. The whole restaurant has such a sexy, colorful, candlelit vibe that somehow feels both lively and intimate. We kept the drinks simple and ordered Hugo Spritzes, which were refreshing and perfectly made for a hot afternoon. What we ordered: * Caramelized Onion Tart (Puff pastry, chive, Comté) - This was recommended by our server and I can see why. It reminded me of French onion soup wrapped in a flaky puff pastry. Rich, savory, and definitely shareable since it is a bit on the heavier side. * Red Thai Curry Mussels (PEI mussels, ginger, garlic, lemongrass, red chile, coconut milk) - WOW. This was hands down my favorite dish. The broth was incredible, rich and packed with flavor without feeling too heavy. I was worried the lemongrass might overpower everything, but it was perfectly balanced. It comes with toasted bread and trust me, you'll want every last drop of that broth. I'd honestly come back just for this dish. * Steak Frites - The steak was cooked perfectly medium and was delicious. The fries were crispy and seasoned well, making it a classic done right. * Broccolini - Simple but really good with a nice char that added great flavor. Overall, we had a great experience. The atmosphere is one of the best parts..beautiful, moody, and full of personality..but the food absolutely held its own. Service was friendly, the patio was comfortable, and now I completely understand why it's one of Palm Springs' hardest reservations to get. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

Bold choice, Chill Bar…read more The good stuff first & there are many good things: strong drinks, a genuinely fun and friendly crowd, and a patio that's beautiful under the string lights at night. No complaints on vibe or service. But we need to talk about the furniture. I sat down on a booth that crackled like it was held together by a single roll of duct tape and sheer optimism. The patio chairs are in the same boat; wobbly stools held together by a prayer, and what looks like clearance-rack lawn furniture. This is Palm Springs, a town famous for its mid-century modern design, and the seating currently looks like it lost a fight with a garage sale. I'll absolutely keep coming back and recommending this place. The atmosphere and people are worth it, but the furniture needs an upgrade to match everything else this place has going for it. Would come back, might bring a cushion just in case.

And I think there's only two places that's somewhat a club. This place and Hunters as they have a dance floor. I could be wrong with the others nearby but they seemed more like bars. The last few times I've been here, sometimes the back bar area is either open or closed. Could be that they're only open during the weekend for dancing and special event. Regardless, it's a fun little spot for a drink. Obviously, depending on when you visit determines the crowd. Mid week is mellow with locals there's for a drink. Weekend tends to bring loads of weekender out for a night of drinking and dancing. Bachelorette party's having the time of their lives. That's when the back bar area is open which they also have another bar there. Dancers are normally on stages shaking their money maker as well. They have two patio with the main one being right along the side of the bar. Back bar patio is smaller and I feel like it's where you would smoke. Decent size bar right when you walk in. Sometimes it's slow grabbing a drink but it's still a nice place. It's always a night out whenever we're here.
