    Cinnamon Roll Basket

Stopped by Eight4Nine on a Saturday morning for brunch. The service was attentive, and all the food we ordered was fantastic. Highly recommend ordering the cinnamon roll basket for the table to share, the chiffon frosting was light, airy, and delicious. The gentleman at the hostess stand at the entrance was super sweet and took multiple pictures for us.

Surprised this place doesn't have 5.0 rating. When we went we had a cute weekend with our daughter so we were pleased that they had mocktails. Then we found out our server Debbie (who was amazing by the way) was sober. She told us her sobriety date which was exact same as my moms! Just thought that was so neat. Love the inside decor and the fact that it is in the dessert makes it even better. We love palm springs and visit every year from San Diego. Can't wait to come here later this year and see what's new with 849!

Had brunch here for my bday with a friend as part of my desert bday weekend. Found the place on Yelp. Cool place - totally perfect for a bachelorette or girls bday. Food and drinks were great. Service was good. Parking was easy on the street.

Eight4Nine is located right in downtown Palm Springs and has a large outdoor patio that's heated, dog-friendly, and able to accommodate larger groups. We had our dogs with us and were seated outside right away by the GM (possibly the owner), who was welcoming and attentive. When our heater didn't work, he quickly replaced it and checked back in when it looked like our server hadn't arrived yet (he had and was just grabbing our drinks). There's also an indoor dining option upstairs that feels quiet and removed from the street. Service here is on the slower side, which we noticed throughout the patio, not just at our table. It didn't feel inattentive so much as unhurried, like the restaurant encourages you to settle in and enjoy the evening rather than rush through a meal. Our server was friendly, made a few jokes, and kept things light, even if we didn't see him often. We started with the corn and crab chowder, though the menu description was confusing regarding the crab. The entree is where things fell a bit flat for me. I ordered the bucatini and found the fennel overpowering. I only ate about a quarter of it, which was disappointing since this was my birthday dinner. My husband agreed (and that's saying something since he's a human garbage disposal). His skirt steak was well seasoned, and the corn pudding was the standout - smooth, lightly sweet, and well balanced. Overall, a pleasant atmosphere and smooth teamwork from the staff. Wonderfully presented birthday dessert.

This is a 5+++++ review! I rented one of the rooms for a corporate function, and the entire experience was exceptional from start to finish. The team was incredibly easy to work with and completely accommodating throughout the planning process. When we arrived, the tables were beautifully decorated and everything was perfectly set up. The staff was absolutely wonderful and professional. Lynn and Delia were hands down the best servers -- they truly made the evening special for both me and my guests. They went above and beyond in every way. When we were running out of time, they even helped us stuff gift boxes. They rearranged the room multiple times without hesitation and tracked down a USB cord for us -- none of which was technically their responsibility, but they did whatever we needed with a smile. The food was outstanding. The ahi appetizer was my personal favorite, though many of my guests raved about the Reuben (not usually my thing). The fried bacon with maple syrup was pure perfection. The Chicken Milanese was absolutely to die for -- the beurre blanc cream sauce was rich and flavorful, and the capers added the perfect finishing touch. And dessert... the 849 caramel macchiato cake was incredible -- light, airy, and completely delicious. We attend this conference every year, and after this experience, we will absolutely be back. My guests were blown away by the venue, the food, and especially the service. Lynn and Delia -- we'll see you next time!

I had been waiting to go to this restaurant for months. The price point is high so I wanted to save it for a special occasion so we waited to go for my birthday this year. I will say the ambience is amazing sitting outside. It was very nice and the service was great as well as our server was very friendly and professional. Also having the lights around outside, made it very calming. Although the service and ambience was great the food was lacking. There isn't a lot of options on the menu so it was hard to make a choice, but we went with the Carne Asada plate and the ravioli. Both my boyfriend and I once we ate our food, we were not satisfied and we actually had to go get more food because of the portion was so small for him. He needed extra. I was also not happy with the ravioli. It had an odd taste and was not very impressed. I don't think we'll be back here again, but it was good to try it out, but I'll stick with some of my other favorite restaurants in Palm Springs such as sand fish.

I chose this spot specifically for their Thanksgiving menu--I was really excited to have duck for the holiday. The restaurant was packed, and it's a pretty large place, so even though we arrived right on time, we still waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Service felt off from the start. Our server was MIA for long stretches, and there were unusually long gaps between courses. Once we finished our meal, we waited at least 30 minutes before he checked on us, and then even longer to receive the bill. For the price of the fixed menu, it just didn't feel worth it. The flavors were decent but nothing memorable, and the dishes didn't taste particularly fresh. Overall, it was an okay meal, but it left us feeling underwhelmed.

Chill outdoor vibe. Great for mu friend and pup. Loved the cocktail "California Water", guacamole, arugula beet salad, and poke bowl. Service was good and friendly. Great location in Palm Springs.

"Amazing experience from start to finish! The food, the atmosphere, and every member of the team. From the host to the servers and even the owner John and his sister Ruby were all top-notch. Professional, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. I can't say enough about this elegantly casual yet eclectic eatery. Truly a standout spot." We will be back !!!

Food: It was interesting. I had the salmon and it was well seasoned and cooked just right. The plate had peaches and peach juice all over it. It did not work with the fish. I tried the peached and spit them out. Service: it was good. I came here for my birthday and I was treated like a queen. The ambiance: it gave me an art studio vibe. It was chic.

What an elegant restaurant! Inside was amazing design, the details of everything, the chairs , the tables, the pictures, everything spot on! The service was quick and polite. The food was fresh and very flavorful. I loved my cappuccino and my chocolate cake . I also had a rib sandwich, was pretty great too. I totally see how great this place is to hang out! We were just passing by and very glad that stopped by here. Totally recommend!

Chilaquiles, short rib hash, and lobster roll
    Allison C.

This is such a cute place! We loved the art work on the walls and the fact that they had purse trees/hangers to place your purse during your visit. The Chilaquiles were delicious. I loved the flavor, but there was not enough spice for me. They were not soggy, but not crunchy either. I guess a good place in the middle. Short rib hash was absolutely delicious. Great flavor. Kind of sweet. Perfectly poached egg. This place has generous portions when it comes to their food. Even the labneh was huge and filling. The mimosa came with two refills which was also an amazing deal. I'd definitely recommend this place for a fun little brunch

The two-top table near the bar, with mustard-fabric lounge chairs on low spindled "moon-lander" inspired supports seem to have jumped right out of a 60's time machine, matching the retro vibe in the whole place. Our server was delightful, regaling us with her informative descriptions of her favorite dishes... it's fabulous when a server knows the menu so well that they can describe not only what's in the dish, but why it's so good. Cocktails were an obvious strength, and after my first choice, the pear-inspired Akita was regrettably "out of stock" (she informed us that they had run out of the fresh pear syrup they make by hand each day), I was steered to the It's Giving Julius. This boozy take on the classic Orange Julius, with a mouth-watering egg-white-textured foam floating on rum-infused a citrus blast. For Gayle, it was a moment to savor the non-alcoholic "Clutch Your Pearls," complete with boba pearls atop an icy lime-green concoction. The entire restaurant is themed on "American comfort food with an Asian twist." And let me say, they nailed it in every aspect. My bowl of Tteokbokk was a brilliant spin on a classic Rigatoni bowl, subbing Korean rice cakes for pasta and gochujang spiked tomato sauce for marinara, but keeping the rich parmesan/mozzerella cheese. At the server's suggestion, I topped it with fried pork belly, well executed and delicious, the entire bowl was light with an arrabiatta-like kick. My wife had the Garlic Noodles... imagine a creamy bowl of chicken noodle casserole straight out of the 60's, but without a can of Campbell's Cream of Chicken in sight. Velvety sauce glazed perfectly cooked Ramen noodles with vegetables and chicken... took her right back to her mother's kitchen where the same dish was the perfect remedy for the flu - comforting and scrumptuous without being too heavy. And finally having not overstuffed ourselves on this trip, we opted for the "poor life choice" of dessert. And after asking for the "simple plate of milk and cookies," the server corrected me and stated - rightly so - that this was anything but simple. Three stuffed cookies: Red Velvet with cheesecake cream, S'mores with marshmellow, and cinnamon filled Churro - nuggets from Heaven's bakery, with a glass of cold milk. We managed to finish it and roll on out full of some of the best food we've had this year. The only minor hiccup was when trying to buy merch on our way out, the front stand didn't have a terminal to let us pay, so we had to seek out a bartender to run our credit card (and they were super busy). A minor complaint in the grand scheme... get those hosts a card reader! Note: We didn't see a single dog in the place... but they clearly are welcome to 4-legged clientele. Such a fun spot.

Four of us came to Boozehounds for dinner on Sunday, and we had a bit of an odd experience. When we…read morearrived, we were told they were running behind but would be seated shortly. We were taken to our table roughly 10-15 minutes after our reservation, which was perfectly fine. When we were seated, we decided on appetizers to order. Our waiter came over and we put in our appetizer order, but said we'd like more time to decide on main courses. The appetizers came out very slowly, and we were then told that one of the orders (the ube focaccia) had run out, so we could get regular focaccia instead, which we did not want to do. Two orders of tuna tacos were brought to our table but we had only ordered one, and on the receipt they made it look as though they "comped" the second order (which was taken back once they realized we hadn't ordered it). We didn't get to order our main dishes for quite some time, and then it took ages for the dishes to come out. They were tasty, but we were getting to the point that we were ready to go home if the food didn't come out within the next few minutes. Once the mains did arrive, my friend asked if there is any rice we could order, and our waiter said yes, but they had just run out. We found this very odd - ube focaccia is one thing, but who runs out of rice? My husband ordered a beer which was never brought to him, and upon getting the bill, my friend said that we didn't receive one of our drinks. The waiter then said "yeah, I forgot about it. But don't worry, it's not on the receipt." Again, strange. Our waiter seemed very disengaged and unapologetic, which I found odd. I can understand that he was busy, but to not apologize for forgetting the drink, running out of one of our appetizers, running out of rice, and waiting a very long time for our dinner seemed strange. Plus, the food was quite expensive (and the portions were relatively small), so it felt especially bizarre that the service was so off. I wouldn't come back because of the service and the price for the portions, but the food did taste very good. I'm disappointed because I wanted to love it here!

Our server Ciera made our time Bar Cecil everything I wish every restaurant experience was like. From the jump she made us feel so welcomed and special. You can tell Ciera cares about her customers. From the way she confidently answered our questions about menu items and recommendations, her sweet and personable chat, the perfect amount of sincere check ins, the list goes on. To top it off she went above and beyond to acknowledge that I was celebrating a birthday. The night got even better when Ciera helped us get a table next door at Beatons, walked us over herself and even came to check on us as we were wrapping up there. She really is a gem and I'm so grateful to her for making our time at Bar Cecil one I will never forget.

If you can't get a reservation, bar seats are first come, first served, and I can see why people line up for them. This was probably the most expensive meal of our trip, and at times you definitely feel it. A Belvedere martini with no vermouth for $27 made me laugh a little. This isn't Vegas. That said, much of the food was excellent. The Duck Liver Pâté was incredible, and the Red Thai Curry Mussels were unique without overwhelming heat. The Cacio e Pepe was one of the standout dishes of the week. Those thick noodles were fantastic. We also ordered the Steak Frites and upgraded to filet. Unfortunately, it came out overcooked, and I asked for it to be removed from the check. On the other hand, the Smoked Bone-In Duroc Pork Chop was perfectly prepared and incredibly moist. Dessert finished strong. The Aniston's Pavlova was excellent, especially the Chantilly cream. The warm chocolate chip cookies were delicious too, although $15 for cookies is definitely a Palm Springs moment. Pricey? Very. Worth experiencing? Absolutely.

Doesn't really feel like a "gay bar" much anymore. Used to come here a lot when we would visit PS. Had a lot of fun dancing. Seemed to be more of a mixed age crowd than some other places on the street. Upon arrival, we walked the premises checking out the large front bar, and then into the back area which had the dance floor and a smaller bar. The three of us opted for a table out on the patio which provided the inside music as a background, so having a conversation was possible. The drinks were good and a little more reasonably priced than at our first stop. They had male go-go dancers around the main bar area, providing a little extra visual stimulation over all of the regular customers dancing in the back. All-male bar and wait staff the night of our visit. Overall, I enjoyed myself more than at our first stop, Hunters, which was across the street. I would definitely come back here again.
