This well-deserved review has been sitting in my drafts long enough! This place serves some really impressive ice cream. I've been here twice and plan to return many times. I've also had most of the other ice cream shops in a 1.5mile radius and Eighty7sweets knocks them all out of the park. Patronizing this quaint little ice cream shop does require a bit of patience, but it's worth it y'all. I'm not vegan at all and I can wholeheartedly say that Eighty7sweets exceeds expectations for every dietary journey (except for maybe the low-carb folks LOL). The environment is tiny and can only serve one party at a time, but it's calming compared to the chaos of Broad St and has a naturally warm, tiki aesthetic. You really can't go wrong with any flavor. It's so darn good, and not shockingly sweet either. Dare I say, this might actually be a health conscious treat. The cookie bowl is a must from here on out. Just do it. The Oreo option has legit pieces of cookie in it. You can do half and half on a single scoop but it's basically two scoops. The servings SERVE and are more than enough. I'm a lil basic so I never get any extra toppings, but the ice cream speaks for itself. Excellently crafted and presented in a clean, minimalist way. KP, the team member I normally encounter, is phenomenal with her service. She's the perfect balance of friendly without doing too much. She has a calm vibe even when they have a line forming out the door. She'll never rush you, but I usually try to be mindful of the folks possibly waiting behind me. I wish the menu was a bit more visible from the outside -- it is for the most part but there are sections that are hard to see unless you're inside the door. The last time we came in around 20min to close and the bins were *rightfully* empty, but she was more than willing to grab more from the back. I have really only one area of improvement. The guy helping in the back my second time coming in was very talkative (yet friendly) and lowkey begged for a review after I had already discussed my intentions to do so with KP... it wasn't a great look from a customer's perspective. I get it as I've worked in this industry, too. But others might not be so chill about that and it might turn people off from actually leaving a review! I couldn't decide so the worker suggested the Atlanta Braves Grand Slam with Cookie Bowl and three scoops. So I tried Buckhead Mocha, West End Wakanda, and Sweet Auburn Butter Pecan. All were delicious, creamy, and flavorful. The chocolate cookie was also semi soft, which I love. Great combo of ice cream and cookie. It comes with 2 toppings but I opted not to so I can enjoy the ice cream fully. Note: Small cute shop for ice cream and milkshakes. I came on a weekend afternoon when the downtown streets were empty but this shop was open. There was a group of kids in front of me so I waited about 10ish mins since it's only one worker. She was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. She also opened the indoor plaza for the kids to sit down inside and enjoy, which I thought was great service. Eighty 7 Sweets has officially made it onto my "will definitely be back" list. First things first--everything here is vegan. That includes the ice cream and even the cookie bowls. The space itself is tiny but super cute. It's so small that they only allow two people inside at a time, which actually makes the experience feel more personal. KP was incredibly sweet and took the time to walk me through all the flavors and the different ways I could remix my ice cream experience. I went with the Sweet Auburn Butter Pecan and Edgewood Oreo in a cookie bowl--and I loved that she offered to warm the cookie. Because honestly, who doesn't love a warm cookie paired with ice cream? Of course, me being my greedy self , I added a little extra on top--sprinkles, chocolate syrup, and a Biscoff cookie. It tasted so good, and I genuinely could not tell that everything was dairy-free. For anyone unfamiliar with the area, it's located downtown, and parking can be a bit tricky. If you're meeting friends, I'd recommend carpooling or giving yourself extra time since you may have to circle a bit to find a spot. Since I was staying nearby, I decided to try this vegan ice cream spot. The ice cream here is all coconut milk based. It's a small space where you just go up to order but there are some chairs and tables set up outside. The ice scooper helping was super friendly and even gave us Atlanta recommendations. I got two scoops which came out to be just under $8. Spelman strawberry & mango - more icey than creamy with chunks of mango. The strawberry flavor was subtle and I wish the flavor came through more. I think the money that could be spent on square footage is better spent on creating high-quality ice cream. I'm always bringing someone new when I go to this shop. If this ice cream shop was in Douglasville we would be regulars on a weekly basis. There's usually a line but it is absolutely worth the wait! The service was phenomenal. They have a pretty good variety of options/flavors; all with cute names that represent Atlanta. The prices are about average for a ice cream shop. The Wakanda Black Mystery flavor was good...tasted like a mix of butter pecan and/or homemade vanilla. The Spelman strawberry mango wasn't good in my opinion. The flavor profile/combo was just way off. Got the mango slightly but no strawberry; plus it had a weird chemically aftertaste. So I wouldn't recommend that one. read more
