This small museum was actually where Einstein lived at the time he formulated his famous Theory of Relativity. The entry fee is 6 CHF (4.5 if you have the Swiss Travel Pass or if you're a student or senior.) It's a bit small though quite informative if you're into Einstein and his works. There's also a biographical movie on Einstein that's playing on a loop (it was in English at the time I was there although there are options for French or German.)

Thoroughly enjoyed this museum. Be sure to watch the 20 min video as it supplements the rear of the exhibits. Then there's a lot of reading - but it is fascinating. If you like history and historic people, you'll love this museum. Its 3 levels. First is a cafe. The 2nd and 3rd are the museum. The video is on The third floor. Also if you need to know more after this go to the History museum across the river and there's more on Einstein there (3rd floor +) Enjoy!

Well, this is where Einstein lived, but he lived in 6 places in Bern, and this place is just the longest one (2 years). There are two floors. The first floor is the recreation of their living room, the second floor is a mini museum of then events that took place in Bern when Einstein lived here. If you are a big Einstein fan, It is a nice museum. But is it worth the 6 CHF? Meh

When walking through the door, I instantly felt my IQ begin to rise. Then I contemplated quantum physics. Located along the main stretch in Berne, Einsteinhaus features the living quarters of the famous scientist as well as some of his inventions. Living here from 1903-1905, the house is where some of Einstein's greatest theories were developed and written. You'll get to see Einstein's furnuture, baby crib, as well as a commemorative bust. Several physics-motion devices are on display as well. Although it is a small museum, this part of history is definitely worth a look. After all, how often do you cross paths with Einstein? Price per person: CHF 6.00 Viewing Time: 45 minutes

Definitely worth going. The grounds and the building itself are quite beautiful. We had less than…read moretwo hours, I think 2-3 hours would have been more than enough time. The Paul Klee collection is inspiring. We also saw the collection of Brazilian art, which was encouragingly diverse across many dimensions. The gift shop had several things I would've loved to buy if I'd had room in my bag.

When I purchased my ticket the staff explained that the collection is constantly rotating so I may not be able to see my favorite works by Paul Klee, but I definitely discovered new artwork by him and also other artists in circle. There was an incredible collection of drawings by Paul Klee and an audio visual display. They do have guided tours and they even have one in English. There are free documetary films playing, usually on either Klee or one of his contemporaries. The museum is beautifully situated and you can take some wonderful photographs of the surrounding mountains and also see a great view of Bern. I walked to the museum and it's a bit of a hike uphill but it's so pretty because you pass by various rivers and residential area. I learned a lot about Klee's life, his contemporaries and also his struggles during the 1930s. Definitely a must see if you want to visit the best museum in Bern. My only gripe is that if you don't read German It is difficult to decipher all the information on the walls but you can rent an audio guide and listen to it in English and other languages. I wish that there had been free information on the walls regarding the artwork in French or Italian (2 other official Swiss languages) because I do speak those languages. There's a wonderful children's center in the museum which looks really fun. Also some colorful seating areas and a very good café.
