First off the good: outside seating is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. Steak and burger was good and cooked perfectly. Salad dressing was good and BBQ sauce was also surprisingly smokey and wonderful. Now the disappointments. Staff, although friendly, seemed really unprofessional and didn't really care that our food took FOREVER. We sat there for long extended periods with empty drinks and growling stomachs. Both our tartars (beef and Asian) were bland beyond compare. Lime mayo was nothing special at all. The worst part was when we got cold and moved inside and they were blasting the most cheesy, awful elevator music. I kid you not, Marvin Gaye covers for saxophone. I asked them repeatedly to turn it down but it was still louder than we could talk. I left extremely disappointed.

Unfortunately, I was very unimpressed by the quality of ice cream we had there yesterday. This location is fairly large with a couple seats outside. I found the inside to be a bit disorganized and kind of dirty. Staff was also a bit disorganized. Not necessarily unfriendly but not really helpful. Finally, the worst part is that I found the ice cream to be bland. I had two scoops and neither really tasted of what it was supposed to be. I've had significantly better ice cream in standard locations. It's a shame as I'd love to like a local chain but I probably won't be going back to any of the Eis Schmidt locations in Hamburg.
