I also knew there were other ice cream shops with cheaper, and just as tasty, if not tastier, creations. Lo and behold, I spotted this shop tucked neatly into a well-kept, thriving neighborhood. Lots of great choices for food within such a small area, and this was the sole shop I saw dedicated to ice cream. The pans were overfilled with such mouthwatering deliciousness that I HAD to get some. The price was €1 per scoop, up to 4. Then there were slight price drops with more scoops for take away (think 10-20 in a box). There were various options with toppings for those with fancier taste as well, but in my opinion great ice cream doesn't need to be dressed up. The flavor choices were great, but the quality is what drew me in. I wasn't wrong either: the smooth texture and strong flavor was superior to the other gelato stands I've been to in Austria and Bavaria. If I make it back to Berlin, I will make it a point to stop back!

The shop offers many different kind of ice creams, you can actually find the menu outside the shop, which is hanging on the wall. It helps to make decision faster. Their ice-creams are really colourful, made people want to try them all. At the moment, one scoop of ice-cream here cost 1,9 euro, quite expensive actually, too luxury for me. So I only ordered one scoop from the Naturally Blue ice-cream to try out. Wow, it was so tasty, not super sweet and it has a unique flavour. The quantity was less than I thought but still enough to make me feel full. I would very likely come back again and try out other flavours as well. If my wallet allows me.

Vanilla & Marille nestled in the middle of Belziger Strasse just off Akazienstraße. You can't miss the wooden shop front accented with pink candy striped cuteness, especially when it seemed to be oozing out a string of happy customers trying to squeeze pass the ever forming queue forming outside. Considering the length of the queue I would say it moved pretty fast, even when the boy in front of me was procrastinating over ever flavour on offer, much to the dismay of his mother... I was secretly okay with this as I was doing the same... at which point my Boyfriend over took me and was served by a second assistant. 22 mouth-watering flavours to choose from, when normally I have problems just choosing between two. Having said that I knew immediately what I wanted, a scoop of the Caramel Buerre Sale... but the second? Time pressure geared me towards the vibrant looking Indian Mango. What can I say? I was a happy bunny. The flavours and textures were really quite excellent. Nothing beats freshly made ice-cream., especially when it's free from artificial flavours, colourings and other enhancements. Flavours on offer included, Sicilian Pistachio, walnut fig, White Mocha, Sesame with caramelised honey, Blueberry cheesecake, Toasted Almond, Strawberries and Mascarpone. Even the chocolate was rich and velvety and the Premium Madagascan Vanilla was buttery and totally yummy. For the quality and choice on offer €1.20 a scoop is a steal. The best part is... They also sell the ice cream in handy tubs to take home... 'Hello little tub of salted caramel ice-cream. Let me take you home with me!' Definitely coming here again! P.S. They even have a cute rubbish bin, just in case the tub of ice cream doesn't make it out the shop!
