They have an extensive range of items. I stopped in here to pick up some garlic and red chilli poppadums. They are so great to serve with Lentil beans. In addition, you can sample their small deli, homemade lassi and and check out their cold beverages. Also if your interested in enhancing your cooking skills, then you can sign up for one of their cooking lessons on Sundays.

Honestly I could shop here for hours but it's kind of tight (even though it's huge for Amsterdam) and during Corona-times, I keep it a bit short even wearing a mask. But geeze, I wish I could eat and cook more because everything is so good in there. What a gem to have in the buurt! Lot's of help if you need it. They are always stocking shelves. The frozen food is probably the same high QUALITY stuff the restaurants sell (but warmed up or cooked). I worked in Hong Kong for almost a year so I was hesitant when I saw the name "Hong Kong Superstore"...I don't know if it's more Hong Kong or mainland China, but who cares, it's great. The cashier could be a little more friendly but maybe it's because I don't speak Dutch and/or Cantonese! Prices are great. Not the kind of place you would visit as a tourist, but they do have non-food items which you would only find in a "Chinatown" type area. Keep in mind, this is not the Chinatown in Amsterdam, so it's quite unique. If you're staying here in a place with a kitchen, go for it and make some Asian food for dinner!

Also they are one of the very few shops in the Netherlands which accept foreign debit/credit cards :) I went to this location about once or twice a week for a month, and the staff were quite friendly and helpful in my opinion.

This is a cool local market that indeed had a lot of Asian groceries. They are also part of Jumbo - very confusing and that's why some stores closed or swapped brands. I rarely shop here - only stop in for specific things. Generally satisfied and the friendly service is worth an extra star.

Let me take you along a stroll through this luxury grocery store and the internal dialogue going on...... Oew Wijs & Zonen Java mocha coffee..."You hardly drink coffee, don't need coffee". Some of their Indian chai blend tea would be nice though.... Sweet, Gavottes Crepe Dantelle...."No, don't go there!" Walkers short bread cookies??...."You know what will happen, you're gonna eat them all in 1 go till you're nauseous" Kings' crown jewel # 109 Grisbi Lemon cream cookies then?? "Fine, just 1 package though and don't finish them all that same night!" Soup from the Soep Fabriek is always good to have as an emergency meal. Get some pure tomato soup ala Johannes van Dam. I headed here with some specific stuff in my and even though I did not find it I left this place with lots of goodies and if I had followed my stomach's advise, and not my wallet's, I would have left with much more. If you live in Amsterdam you probably would not go to this place all the time, so it is handy to come with money and maybe a car because you will probably buy lot's of stuff here. It is nearly impossible to walk through this store without spending to much money on delicious stuff (also because stuff here is pretty expensive). Even though it is a pricey store I will definitely be back for some things that are not available at my nearest Albert Heijn. Nice extra; they had Halloween themed candies! Trick or treat! Nice!

It was so convenient and we stopped by multiple times to pick up snacks and beverages. There's a great selection of beers and other soft drinks available by the bottle. Unfortunately, on both of our visits, the refrigerated cases were out of order so there wasn't anything cold. I highly recommend visiting the cheese counter. Everyone needs some gouda in their life while in the Netherlands! I was also excited to find containers of a crispy snack called emping melindjo, which we'd had for the first time at a bar while we were in town. It was only because of marqt that I was able to find out the name of said snack! I purchased a container, along with some chutney, which we enjoyed on the boat. Marqt takes credit cards only. They have great reusable bags available for a small fee if you don't have your own. Overall, an excellent city grocery!
