Don't let the looks of the building put you off. Yes, the outside is pretty tired, but inside it's nicely decorated and clean. Service was very good, friendly and attentive but not intrusive. The food was very good, in fact the chile colorado burro was excellent. Prices were fair and portions were large. Salsa a bit thin for my taste, but flavorful. Another Yelper claimed this to be the swing by place on the trek from California to Utah. They are definitely right! Thoroughly enjoyed dinner here! I have yet to have anything but a great meal here. Owner is wonderful and treats everyone like friends. Food is fresh and lovingly prepared. My daughter loves the carne asada plate and I'm a sucker for their enchiladas mole. So good. Prices are a steal, service is warm and friendly, bathrooms are nice and clean, and while I have not had one myself, I'm told that the margaritas are delicious and the beer extra cold! We stopped in here while we charged our Tesla. The service was outstanding and the food was great. We had the #16 with a chimichanga and an enchilada. I also added a margarita. The food and drinks arrived quickly and hot! Which was perfect since we were charging up the truck too. read more

Taco salad very disappointing. Burnt tortilla and put all the meat in shell and ruined it. Salad itself was not fresh and salsa put on top was watery. I did not eat it. Very gross. I have no complaint about the service and the ambience was about what I would expect. read more

Stopped in Battle Mountain for work and this gem of a restaurant hit the spot! The decor is very lovely and authentic and the service was quick and friendly. We even practiced our Spanish and that was great. I ordered combo 1 with an enchilada, tomal, and taco plus beans and rice. Overall it was very delicious but if you like your enchiladas wet, ask for extra sauce. It did have a lot of shredded cheddar cheese on the top, so if you are bothered by that consider having it on the side instead. I'd go back again! A big plus--we were seated by their heater and that was perfect on this snowy day. The locals say they love it here. read more

I even loved that what appeared to be an elderly homeless woman came in and asked for ice and water (it was hot outside) and he gave it to her with amazing grace. The beef fajitas were delicious. Upon walking in, I could tell this was going to be a great spot. I was seated immediately, and given a menu, chips, salsa and beans then asked what I wanted to drink. They had my favorite (sprite), and into the menu we went. The menu is rather large. GREAT for people driving through that would like some variety, but I tend to stay away from large menus. I ordered the Burrito De Carne Asada, and really the flavor was great. I would have preferred that the Carne Asada was cut up a little more. It's a little annoying to take a bite and half the burrito comes out with it, haha. Either way, a great flavor and not a mess to eat with a fork and knife. The veggies and guacamole on top were a nice touch, but next time I'd ask for more of the onions. Really I need to try more of the menu, but I'd be excited to bring my wife here when (if) we are in Battle Mountain together. read more

This restaurant changed the amount that was charge on my card and entered in a higher tip without my authorization. Will be disputing and making a claim with my bank. They also up charged us for items without our knowledge and didn't come back to the table with items we requested. They seem really friendly but really shady business practices. Super friendly wait staff. Huge menu! I chose the beef Colorado burrito which was really bursting with all the right flavors. Some of the best Mexican rice ever. Hubby had the #1 combo plate with taco, enchiladas and a tamale. He said it was really good. Be careful the plates come out really HOT! There is not much in this town. Fortunately for the locals or folks like us passing through this place is here to serve up the most authentic Mexican fare. We would eat here a lot if we lived near.
