Was here for a birthday and was also Sunday brunch. The menu is à la carte but has an option for unlimited champagne. I really enjoyed the carnitas plate which is served on a hot cast iron skillet, which I love because I prefer my carnitas crispy on the edges. Do note that they can overcook as well if you don't take them off the hot plate. Beans and rice were very good as well. GF ordered the enchiladas which she enjoyed, but has had better. Service was hit and miss, but we were a party of 12+ and the World Cup final was on the big screens. Order the churro cart for dessert, especially for a birthday. Made for great pics! Churro was just ok though :( good thing there was ice cream :) Biggest complaint has to be the salsas. The one with chips had no kick or flavor. I asked for spicier sauce which they do have, but was just ok flavor wise. Too many great Mexican and Mexican American restaurants with good food and better salsas to re-visit, so not sure I would be back. If in the area, it's worth a try and they do have big screens for games and the bar was pretty packed, so maybe worth the trip back for that and bring my own salsa :) read more

I made a reservation for 3 PM today specifically to enjoy happy hour, which is clearly advertised on the restaurant's website with listed times and prices. I come here regularly--about twice a month--and have even celebrated my birthday here, so I felt confident in what to expect. When my husband and I arrived and asked for the happy hour menu, we were told it was not being offered "because it's Cinco de Mayo." While I obviously knew the date, there was absolutely no indication anywhere online or during booking that happy hour would be canceled. That was really frustrating and felt misleading. If there are exceptions to regular specials, especially on a day that might bring in more customers, that should be clearly communicated ahead of time. It doesn't make sense to remove happy hour entirely without offering any alternative promotions--if anything, I would expect more incentives on a day like this. We ended up leaving without ordering because the experience started off on the wrong foot. Disappointing, especially since this has been a go-to spot for us in the past. read more

Came here for Happy Hour and i'm glad I did after looking at the regular prices on a normal day.. Yikes! Aside from that the QUESO BIRRIA TACOS were actually good and the consome as well. We came hear on a Sunday afternoon at around 1:00 PM, parking was available but limited spots available. As we went in we were greeted by a hostess and were seated right away at the bar area as requested. The bar was not busy but there were people there also eating, the dining area was pretty busy and the service was pretty quick. The restaurant has a nice modern Mexican style look, they were playing bad bunny and other similar Spanish music and the sound system was good and not too loud. I order the black aquachiles which were pretty bomb and not too spicy, it was served with onions, avocado, black hot sauce and tostadas. My wife ordered the tacos gobernador and they were served in a wooden board and a side of some really good spicy Serrano chile. We had beer as well. Pretty good restaurant, they have definitely improved since the last few times I've been there in the past during covid. I would recommend this restaurant. Next we will try the micheladas, they have been good in the past and I'm sure they are better now. read more

Who knew I had a small gem of a spot a few minutes from home. The only reason why I came was because of the happy hour menu. In these times you want to enjoy some good drinks and food. The food? I came here to get a bite to eat after a long day at work, and it was close to my house. The ambiance was lovely, with good music and TVs showing sports of all kinds. Customer service at the bar was excellent, always asking if I needed anything. I decided to order their classic michelada and their Camarones Zarandeados. The michelada was really good. I don't know what they put inside their michelada mix, but whatever it is, it's really excellent. The camarones were terrific with delicious flavor and a good hint of spiciness. Anyway, I should've checked the receipt, so I guess it's kind of my fault. But still, adding items that were never asked for to an order is a bit shady. Maybe it was a goof up. Idk. But as a customer, I expect the bill to be accurate. The food was good. I recommend the al pastor fries. I don't think the business should be punished for a mistake, so I would recommend people try it out. The girl that came to drop off our food was more worried about going to talk to her coworker that was on lunch break than us. She literally rushed to give us our food. I visited this Mexican restaurant for Taco Tuesday with a friend. We arrived around 5:30 pm and found the parking situation to be quite frustrating. The restaurant has a small parking lot that can probably fit around 20 cars, and there was no parking available. There's a small taco stand next door with its own private parking, but I didn't want to risk it, so I ended up parking down the street. Based on this alone, I won't be returning. We waited over 10 minutes for a server to come to our table. When they didn't, my friend had to go ask the hostess to send our waitress. She wasn't apologetic or gave a reason for the delayed service. She seemed very irratated when she approached our table. For drinks, I ordered a strawberry margarita and a mango margarita. They were good and didn't give me a headache like most sugary drinks, so that was a plus. I ordered two steak tacos, which came plain, and you have to add your own toppings from the taco bar. The music was VERY loud, making it difficult to hear my friend, who was sitting directly across from me. I couldn't wait to leave because the music was so loud, I felt like I needed earplugs. For an unlimited buffet and mimosas this was a nice place for brunch. El Baja bar & Grill is located close to us and we have seen them advertise their brunch on social media but have never had a free Sunday to go. We finally did and I'm glad we came to check it out. We arrived around 11AM and were seated right away. There were only about 4 other parties seated so it wasn't too busy. I will say maybe an hour or so after we arrived there were tons more people who arrived. The waitresses are nice and very attentive. They ask you what you want to drink and mimosas are included with the price and are bottomless. They come back pretty quickly to refill your glass once it's empty which is always a good thing. As far as the food it's really good quality for a buffet. Since this is a Mexican restaurant the focus is on Mexican food so you will find Enchiladas, Birria, Tacos Dorados, Quesedillas, Ceveiche, Sopes, Posole, Menudo, Concha's, even sushi and I known I'm missing a few things. They even have a person making fresh chilaquiles and omelettes. Every thing we ate was really good and didn't taste like just some ordinary buffet food that's just been sitting there. It all tastes fresh and would be a great stand alone dish if ordered on their own. The fact that you can keep coming back to grab more just makes it that much better. One thing to note is the music is kind of loud and has sort of a party vibe as there is a DJ playing the music. For us it was not a party and once you get a few mimosas in your in the partying mood. Just thought I would mention this if it isn't your vibe. I feel like it is a good value at $37.99 even if you don't drink. If you do partake in the mimosas I feel like it's an even better value. If you have been hesitant to try this place out for brunch I really think you should consider this for your next Sunday brunch outing. read more

Super friendly and can mix up almost any drink you're looking for. I have tried a number of the food options they offer and it is all very flavorful and freshly cooked. It comes to your table so hot that you have to wait for it to cool down. Taco Tuesdays are always a hit, great selection of meats and plenty of fixings to pile your taco as high as you want. I had Mole enchiladas but with cheese only & their Mole was super yummy! It's hard to find a good quality Mole and this place has it. Their rice & beans were super tasty too. My friend had the burger & said it was good, I guess he wasn't feeling like good Mexican food, lol! We had very friendly service and they were very attentive. I would have given it 5 stars but they didn't have a Watermelon Margarita! This is summer, it's almost a must to have in a Mexican restaurant. Today might've put a thorn in me, Sundays they offer a brunch menu, which is excellent. There was an issue when we wanted to order 2 scrambled eggs with bacon for our toddler (I would've paid for them al a cart or for the inconvenience) The server said she would ask the kitchen, came back and told us that the kitchen cannot and will not because of their brunch menu, even though they have the product. This our 4th time here. Never wrote a review until now. Food is consistently great! So far we have tried many things on the menu and We still have yet to complain about any dish we have ordered. All delicious. Even their happy hour appetizers are delicious and better quality than your average happy hour food. All there wait staff we've ever had have been very sweet and efficient. The prices are reasonable. The music can be a little loud and hard to hear each other talk but it adds to the festive atmosphere. There's a separate bar for people who just want drinks.
