Instead he wanted to move everything around (except the toilet, because of drain location), and create a massive bathroom that would have made the bedroom, where it was expanding into, not even big enough to put a single bed. He left not even offering to provide other options in layouts or saying he would think about other options. I felt it was all about them making as much money as possible ($40-50,000) was stated. I should just have lit a match to the $50.00 consultation fee because it was the worst money I ever spent.

Terrible experience with Tom from TNT Home Renovations in Windsor, Ontario. Hired him in February…read more2023 to do a bathroom and kitchen renovation which I was told would take 6 weeks, but then dragged on for 6 months and is still not finished. He asked for most of the money in advance and I gave it to him willingly because he kept saying the job is 'almost done' and I was assuming he was paying subcontractors and purchasing the finishings that he had asked me to pick out. In June, on the day before my cabinets were to be delivered Tom informed me that he had run out of money and that I had to pay the supplier directly or else not receive my kitchen. I was without a kitchen for 3.5 months at this point, so I was put on the spot and felt I had no choice but to pay twice for the cabinets. This eliminated the 10% holdback of funds which I was counting on to ensure the job was finished to my satisfaction. As far as Tom's workmanship, it might look good in the photos he posts, but if you look closely, much of the work is sloppy and doesn't line up, for example tile and door trim. If you ask for it to be redone he complains incessantly and acts like he is the victim somehow. He actually installed a shower curb the wrong way so the water would run outside onto the floor rather than towards the drain and then complained when I expected him to fix it (he tried to fix it and it was so poorly done that I had to hire someone else on the third attempt to repair it properly.) He doesn't clean up at the end of the day, leaving hardened mud drips and sawdust everywhere. When he was sanding the kitchen he did not put plastic up to prevent drywall dust from going into every centimeter of the rest of the house. He dumped paint? grout water? into my front yard garden beds. It's still there, hasn't washed off despite all the rain we've had this summer. Tom laughed when I complained about this, like it's no big deal that I have a grey white substance permanently splattered across my front sidewalk and garden rocks that I can't wash off. In mid-July he started a new job without finishing mine, so I am currently going through Better Business Bureau to file a complaint and will likely have to go to small claims court to resolve this further. His response, by the way, to my complaint was 'I had a really good laugh reading your complaint'. He does not care about his clients, does not stand by his work, can't manage his money, is barely ever at the work site and will cause you tons of frustration. I'm not surprised that he hides his Google reviews and Facebook reviews. I can't imagine they are very good. Avoid at all costs!
