My family and I came here for dinner on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was lively and exciting. Walking in, I immediately noticed a large Hispanic crowd, which made it clear that this place had to be authentic. The loud music, bold decor, and cool aquatic-themed artwork on the walls made me feel like I was at sea. The staff was very nice and gave me great recommendations. Since it was my first time here and the menu was in Spanish, I really needed the help. The portions were insanely huge, making it a great spot for larger groups who like to share. There were so many ceviche options, and while seafood was their specialty, they also had pork and beef dishes available. From food, service, and ambiance, everything was a 10/10! They even had a mariachi band performing occasionally for birthdays and other celebrations.

The size of my food and me. Not pictured was my friend's ceviche negro which was really good.

This place consistently has great seafood, friendly service, and good vibes. I used to eat here a lot in my college years with my friends. After living out of state for 11 years, I recently had dinner with my bestie here, and the food still hits the same! Our favorites are the Ceviche Negro, the Campechana, the Guachinango frito (red snapper), and the Robalo frito (snook) if snapper is not available. I loved the spicy sauce used in the Ceviche Negro and will order that for myself next time. All the portions are sharable, but that didn't stop us from ordering it all.

To begin.theres plenty of parking.but if your disabled.or injured.theres a 12 inch curb and a giant dip in the road.so bring a team to help you over this mountain.theambiance was ok.seems like the seafood places in corpus.but it's cool.because the place was very clean.except the smell in the bathroom.could use an air freshener.every employee was very nice.and said hello welcome and thank you as we left.all I saw was employees working or attending to guest.not sitting around on their phones.as other places.a very colorful place.with led colored lights.pictures of menue items.everywhere.nice.our server was very nice.informative and patient.as I haven't brushed on my spanish.then she started talking english.the prices are about the same.just slightly higher.buuuut.i noticed everything on the menue seemed authentic Mexican recipe.my family has relatives in mexicalli.so I grew up with real Mexican meals for years.so this was nice.well I was very surprised to see the complimentary.large bowl of fidelo with plenty of cilantro.o.m.g. was so flavorful.i bought one to go.real red enchiladas.made the correct way with red tortillas.wow.the menue was basically mainly sea food.but I saw burgers.carne guisadas.tortas.i mean a little of everthing.they have plenty of room.so the family would be perfectly situated here.the brought our food with 3 different salsas.kethup and mayo.all on the table.hey the food was awsome.very hot.fresh and delicious.they have a good lunch menue.and margaritas.beer ritas.pina cold as in a real pinapple.and lots of other alcohol choices..not fancy but nice.

Brought a couple of friends for lunch and the food was fresh and did not disappoint. This place offers too many menu offers to mention.

As close as you can get to actual Mexico's beach front seafoods. Fresh, savory and mouthwatering Ceviche, seafood tostada. Great portions to share. This place is always busy so be paciente, the service is good and attentive. Must try!

The food was amazing. The temperature was perfect. We had a bucanero molcajete and it serves 2-3 people. Great seafood portions and flavor. The service is a bit slow but polite waiters.

Large portion sizes and absolutely wonderful food. This is a seafood place, so highly recommend the namesake seafood platter. The Micheladas are also large and flavorful. (See scans)

Visited this location on a Saturday night with a party of 15. Wait wasn't bad, only an hour. Our waiter was excellent and food was delicious. I liked how opened and bright this location is and they had on a great current mix of music. The staff also sang happy birthday to my sister which was fun! The dish I got was "el pachanguero" which there was not a description for this on their menu. You get to pick the ceviche for the avocado to be filled with and the only issue for me was that the beer was not that cold. Price for this menu item was 26.

This looks lace is serious about mariscos! I enjoy SOME seafood and ceviche is at the top of that short list. El Bucanero caters to ceviche and Latin flavored seafood lovers like me and offers a large menu to appease a multitude of hankerings. My son and I came today, a lovely Sunday afternoon, worried there might be a horrendous wait like we've encountered here before but happy to report that noon was a perfect time to show up. I mean, we played hookey from church so the experience had better be a good one! And it did not disappoint. We were seated quickly and our food came pretty quick, too. Their ceviche is pretty consistent with how fresh it tastes. We each chose a ceviche type (black mixto and regular mixto) and share a plate of Sopes Sinaloense with carne asada. If you haven't had their Sopes before, please do. The pickled red onion on top really makes this dish pop. I LOVE horchata, but sadly theirs is no bueno. Get a soft drink instead. Btw, they offer Pepsi products.

This card was brand new. Our first purchase with that card was at this location's Fred's Fish fry. We have not used the card for anything else! We got the message while we were parked down the street munching on our food. It's been a few weeks and we tried to let that slide. We did not order a new card which is our fault. We ended up keeping our card and every time we got our paycheck deposited, we would immediately go and pull the money out at bank well that same employee got our card now frozen because they have continuously tried to add our card to their Online Banking and their mobile device. Their phone has already been flagged through our bank so once our bank saw that they were trying again, they completely froze our card I will be contacting HR of Fred's fish try to inform them and hopefully they can dig deeper and find the employee that is doing this. This is extremely unprofessional and I understand fraud happens, but this is very bold of somebody to do!

We ordered the fish chicharron. Not even close to the same dish served at the other location. It made us so upset, that it's not even worth talking about anymore. My son LOVES the paella at the other location. He picked the shrimp out and refused to eat the rest. We all tried it and agreed, it lacked flavor, and it didn't even feel like it was cooked the same. I ordered the caldo 7 mares. This one is mixed. It was FULL of seafood...but ZERO of the rich seafood broth you expect. For the price, the broth should at least taste...well, no joke but it should taste like fish. Even salt didn't help. The misses ordered the fried fish and shrimp. That was the best dish, and not by much. We had a michelada, and it wasn't bad, but again didn't hold a candle to the other location. The one sauce, the chipotle mayo type, was absolutely delicious. The green one not so much. Even that sauce is completely different than the 151 location. The chips were stale... Our waitress visited us once, and we WERE the only family dining there. No refills for us I guess! We were perplexed how the same family of restaurants can be so different!!! Visit the 151 location, trust me!

Our server Tyler, was excellent--super attentive and answered all of my aunt's questions about the food and the place with patience and detail. My first visit here was for the Elite Event, and I enjoyed it overall--except for the salsa verde, which was too salty. My aunt ordered the Empanada Costena and the Calamari to start. She absolutely loved the empanada, and everyone agreed the salsa verder could use a little less salt. The calamari, on the other hand, was delicious--crispy and flavorful. I couldn't get enough! For my main course, I went with the grilled Tilapia from the Mambo Classis set menu, paired with a salad. It was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor--I finished every bite. The rest of my party orders Grilled snapper, Mambo Fried Fiesta and the Sliced Sautéed Octopus. Everyone enjoy their meals and the portions were so generous that they even had left overs. They have three different kinds, and the server was knowledgeable enough to explain to us what the different kinds were, size, graininess, and other intangibles that would help us make our decision, and I'm glad he did because we got the Gulf oysters and they were awesome My wife had a Lobster and shrimp roll, which was one of the most delicious things I think I've ever tasted in a seafood restaurant, I went standard with fish and chips, and they were quite amazing, battered properly, lightly fried, golden brown, hot and juicy on the inside, with very little grease residue, five out of five would definitely eat those Again.
