When I emailed prior landlords I would get it addressed instantly. When I was late on rent- I would say something and give a date of payment! Never evicted!! She did it after seeing this review and us telling her that we wanted to move out bc i am remote and do not get service here. We were exhausted and returned to find our vehicle gone. No community text or warning was sent beforehand, even though management has previously texted me about parking and had identified our vehicle in the past. I have never in my life felt so uncomfortable by a property manager. It is honestly creepy and something isn't right about the way she is. Terrible Cell Service - I work remotely, and the property manager knew that before we signed our lease. At no point were we told that cell service is extremely poor. There is little to no reliable service, which has made working from home incredibly frustrating. I wish I had read the reviews before moving here. Unreliable Internet - We've also experienced ongoing internet issues. The wiring for our entire apartment had to be redone after we moved in because of connectivity problems. If you work remotely or depend on reliable internet, this is something to seriously consider. Parking Issues - Parking is another major frustration. There are often very few available spaces because non-residents appear to park in resident spaces. Although residents receive parking permits, enforcement has not been consistent, making it difficult to find parking. Management Experience - The management style felt overly intrusive. There are security cameras throughout the property, and we received text messages about things we were doing while still on the property. For example, while spending time in the clubhouse with family, we received a text informing us that dogs were not allowed inside. We genuinely were unaware of that rule, and it felt uncomfortable to be contacted while being monitored through the cameras instead of someone speaking with us directly. Overall, between the poor cell service, unreliable internet, parking issues, and our experience with management, living here has been extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this property, especially for anyone who works remotely.

With the mountain to the east and the lake to the west, there is always something to do out in the sun. When I first moved in, there was no gate, but now there is which can be kind of a good thing but also a pain in the ass if you're trying to order a pizza or have a party because you have to go all the way outside just to let each person in. They tell you that you get a "yard" which is the saddest excuse for a yard I've ever seen. You can't fit anything in it, and the only thing it would be useful for is a dog to go outside and poop in, but sadly they don't allow pets. They also don't allow smoking in the apartments or anywhere on the property. If they catch you doing it, they will threaten to kick you out. That's a downfall too because that's just about the only thing you would want to do outside on your 4x4 foot itty bitty patio where you aren't allowed to have a grill. Yes, the yard and the patio are the two most pointless parts about this complex. The parking is pretty much the worst situation imaginable. Most people don't even park in their garages, they just use it as another living room. The garages are ridiculously small. They claim to be 2-car garages, which is fine if you have two mini coopers. I'm not sure how they did the measurements here, but if you are lucky enough to fit your vehicles in the garage, you have to do an 8-point turn just to get it in there since the buildings are so close together. The saddest thing I've seen though is the people who signed their leases and have trucks and you see that they can't even close the garage at night because the front of the truck is sticking out of the garage. I just feel so sorry for them because they didn't know. They didn't know... The best part is that we scratched both my girl's car and my car trying to maneuver our cars into this ridiculous situation. Thousands of dollars of paint jobs are in our future. The inside isn't so bad. You get three bedrooms, and two bathrooms. The kitchen is kinda nice too, but everything else in here is so poorly done. The walls are thin and the paint is so cheap you can just rub something on it and it stains or comes right off. The door stoppers just fall out of the wall... ugh it was a nightmare. For $1400 a month we got what we paid for... The only reason I'm giving this place two stars is because of the liquor store that I could walk to across the street. That made it easy to not have to drive anywhere when I ran out of beer. Oh also, there is a washer/dryer and air conditioning. You might not want to use them though because somehow the meters here RIP YOU OFF and we had consecutive $300/month SDG&E bills. No, I am not exaggerating.

Fact: Your 2 car garage just became your living room. Fact: You now park either in 1 of the 3 parking spots in the gated part of the complex (good luck finding one) or park on the street. Fact. Friends/family come over park way the hell down the road and walk in this sketchy part of town to your gate where they wait for you to open because it is locked. And if it is dark they could potentially be in danger and be frightened. Fact: Your friends/family will no longer want to come and visit. Second off.. they remodeled this place with freaking cardboard. The walls are super thin so UNFORTUNATELY I can even hear neighbors alarm clocks and figure out what they are watching on TV. A stalkers dream. The paint ON the walls chips off when the wind blows. It is ridiculous. Anything can mark this paint too. We got a couple black marks from moving our MINI japanese pleather couches up the stairs because that was the only thing that could fit. So I decided to use a rag with water to try to get rid of the damn marks. Well the paint washed right off. Fact: THE WALLS ARE THINNER THAN AN ANOREXIC CHICK! Fact: THE PAINT WASHES OFF WITH WATER! WTF?!? Third off and finally.. THE MANAGEMENT SUCKS MONKEY NUTS! They are rude, annoying, deceiving, conniving and overall screw you over big time assholes. Side note: Things you can not do in your complex: Smoke, not even out in front, not on your patio, not at all. Pets, not a fish, not a snail, nothing, zip, zilch. I had done tons of research when I first started looking at apartments and I had 3 main must-haves: fair price, safe area, and cleanliness. Fountains Apartments has all of that. So my only guess for why there are some disgruntled opinions on here about this place may be due to unrealistic expectations/standards. If your checklist for choosing an apartment is similar to mine - this place, in my opinion, is the one to choose :) In addition to meeting my must-haves, the neighbors are incredibly friendly and willing to accommodate/communicate for everyone's best interest. It's a very family environment here with tenants that have lived here for 5+ years. I also absolutely love the property manager, Megan. She is constantly working on bettering the complex and building relationships with the tenants here. I have never had a property manager that puts so much heart into her work, and for myself, I feel a huge sense of security living in a place that has that. As far as cons to this place - I don't really have any. It's fairly priced, safe in a beautiful area, and clean :) I have never made the effort to review something before but because I'm just pretty shocked at all the harsh comments made about this complex, I feel like it's only fair to share how wonderful I think this place is.
