Saw the reviews so i wamted to give a try and i wasn't as high on this place as others i ordered some taquitos which were very over priced and the Supreme nachos which were also over priced and were basically just meat chips and cheese this place is not terrible but there are definitely better Mexican places in the area with better prices i won't b back read more

Top notch. Full of flavor and authentic. Great service. This is now my go to place for Mexican food. Nothing else in the neighborhood comes close! Had the chilequiles. Fantastic ! I got the spicy one and it was very spicy, just the way I like it and delicious. The carnitas were deep fried and chopped up just the way they should be. The pico de gallo, was perfect. Can't wait to try the seafood next. They have a whole butterflied and fried snapper. I have not had that since I was in Cabo years ago. I am sure it will be fantastic as I have not seen it at any other Mexican restaurant. It is pricey at $24.95 but it will be worth if if they serve it boneless which is the traditional way. Added info: Tried the whole fried snapper (whole, not butterflied, only $13), delicious and very nice presentation though a little over crispy which dried out the meat. Would not have been an issue if the fish was a little bigger. The Molcajete was off the hook. Delicious. Comes with rice, beans, guacamole and tortillas. Expensive but worth it. The beans, fantastic. Must have pork fat in them. The Chile Verde was a disappointment though. The meat was not cooked in the sauce. Pre cooked meat and cubed and put into the sauce. The sauce was tart like a tomatillo sauce without the good green chile flavor. Since the meat was cooked separate, the sauce did not have the blended flavor of the meat in it. I make much better at home. The carnitas enchilada was good but not a stand out like the carnitas plate. The chile relleno is top notch with poblano peppers just like they should be. Not Anaheim peppers like most places do. Going back again tonight to try something different.... Oh, the best part. You can bring your own booze. We brought beer and tequila. Let me start off by saying that this hole in the wall place is a rip off. I get it's a business and they are trying to make their money but they need to be a little more cautious with their pricing. Let me just say that I bought 4 potato tacos for lunch with guacamole and I ended up paying almost $20 just for some simple potato tacos with guac. Be aware of the price before you place your order. I didn't expect it to be that much but they had already made it and I didn't want to be mean. Potatoes and tortillas aren't expensive! I could have made it myself. Been there 3 times, twice for breakfast and will continue to return for huevos rancheros. Eggs are perfects cooked and their ranchero sauce is great, highly recommend throwing alittle extra heat on it. I have had better but for price it's well worth it. read more

Been here twice in one month. I've been looking for a down home Mexican food restaurant and i think i may have found it. The pork short ribs in green sauce are excellent! They have very good beans which is in an indicator of a good Mexican restaurant. Service is friendly and they are always up to recommend meals if asked. In the covid era eating out is definitely a treat, a respite from the 24-7 cooking responsibility. So when you you make that decision for a family of four it really means something significant. My biggest mistake was ordering Mexican food on Cinco de Mayo. All the usual favorites were closed for ordering by the time we decided to order. El caporal, was still open so we thought we would give it a try. First, the food is expensive especially for what you get. 13.99 for two soft, street tacos, and a small serving of beans and rice. Mind you I ordered hard tacos. Uh no. This is borderline price gouging if you ask me. The one taco plate that actually did come with a beef hard taco was not edible. Our third order, 15.99, for a two plate combo (cheese enchilada and what was ordered as a hard taco but came with a soft taco) also not worth it because of size, but edible. My husband said it was substandard. The only person happy got two street tacos, but at $2 also not worth it. There are so many choices for great Mexican food locally. If your favorite isn't available, don't take a gamble on this place. You will be disappointed. Finally to the owner, your prices do not reflect the food that you serve. With service and tip, I spent $63 dollars on 3 plates and 2 street tacos. What I received was $25 at most. When people are spending that type of money, the amount and quality of food should be commiserate with the cost. read more

I love their food! It's so tasty and affordable. Plus the service is excellent! The business owner takes all the orders and serves the clients, and I cant say enough good things about her. She is so beautiful and sweet and attends to all her clients in a prompt manor. Great place to eat - much greater variety and fresher ingredients than your typical Mexican restaurant, and also very clean facility. Most importantly, the food preparation and handling seems to be very clean. Staff are friendly and overall an excellent place for lunch or take-out. If you're doing take-out, they're happy to also pack salsa and chips free of charge. Only downside is their food isn't as authentic.
