By 1:30pm they are already cleaning and readying to close so get here earlier. Churros are thin but the only ones around that I've had that taste sooooo much better. Be here by 11:30 if you want any - if they run out of dough they'll not offer any churros. Usually packed between 10am and 1pm. They are open the same hours Sunday when Antonio's Dad works the tables and shouts out the orders in a slightly "loud" voice. He's unique and a Rota icon. I usually come here to have a cafe manchado while reading the Diario de Cadiz.

Tapas are not particularly memorable but dirt cheap... all under €2.00. Go for the feeling of timelessness, the bullfight photos, the oldtimers chatting at the bar. Great place.

They have a television to occupy your eyes. They have a good selection of tapas and now it includes caracoles (snails) as most places are offering right now (it's May). Don't want to sit inside? They have tables under umbrellas in the plaza too! You can sit down outside and someone will come out to take your order. Each time I have been here they have been quick and courteous. I just had a coffee yesterday. During Rota's warmer days you'll find all their outdoor tables taken... very limited parking in front. A public parking garage is located about 4mins away from the plaza de España, in the direction of the Torre de Merced. This is in old Rota, and after your coffee or tapas, I strongly recommend a walk through the older calles which is most relaxing, along with seeing the Castillo de Luna past here towards the beach.
