I live in Salton City, Ca and one morning I was stopped at my local arco station to get gas for my car as I have a long haul to the big box stores for groceries I was just headed N when all of sudden I'm lit up so of course I pulled over and I'm in complete shock as I couldn't understand why I would be pulled over. I asked the officer did I do something wrong with my driving he said no it's your window tint? Ru kidding me the tint wasn't that dark and the temps in the desert exceed 120 in the summer so I requested a warning from him as I have been driving well over 30 YEARS with a impeccable record, He said he would not entertain a warning however a fix it ticket is what I received which cost me over a 100 when it was all said in done. I can't believe this officer would think that I would not adhere to a warning, basically I feel he must think I'm irresponsible and that a warning ticket wouldn't be suffice. So I would like to share some words of advice for,this officer. First and foremost window tint should be at the bottom of your priority list. Also you should focus your immediate attention to the lousy drivers that occupy the 86 N and S..In closing I want to make Crystal Clear that I am a highly experienced driver, I was driving cross country when I first got licensed so my experience, and driving record speaks volumes!! To make up for the dumb guy that answers the phone at the station, the new Imperial Animal Control officer, Stephanie is doing amazing things. She goes above and beyond for the animals and it's obvious that she appreciates her job and really cares about the animals. I'm glad they found a good AC officer here because stray animals, animals caught in canals, animal abuse is crazy in this area.

She was approached as if she was the criminal in the situation. I don't know what the teenagers are like in this city but I do know she was being judged as a rebellious teenager. She is not that at all. She is a B average student and her hobbies are anything science related. Never runs the streets or gets into trouble. She felt she was in danger along with one other child. Officer then went on to say he was raised in an abusive home and would have never called the police. Im pretty sure the 911 call was not about you and your upbringing Mr. Officer. Basically, according to Imperial police it is ok for someone to put their hands on you for no reason. Did you know that you can harm someone as long as you dont leave marks, according to Imperial Police. Oh, and you can put a pillow over someone's face as long as you don't suffocate them all the way. Also, my daughter requested for me to come get her. They stated I would be arrested. That is funny to me since not once did they check my court order. Her father and are friends and have no drama which is the reason why she was there at his house on not one of his weekend's. Maybe Imperial Police should know how to do their job and check court orders before they degrade a child. Dispatch said an officer would call me, they never did. I am not surprised at the lack of professionalism with this department. Haven't heard very good things about this town. Where we live law enforcement is understanding and knows the law. I would like to thank Imperial police department for now I know my daughter is not safe in your town. Also, thank you for now my daughter at 15 years old doubts the justice system. This is a major problem in the world today. Violence because children are growing up disrespecting law enforcement, but why does this happen? Im met with such hostility as a mexinan-american girl who doesnt speak spanish. so many mexi-cali residents take the jobs here from california residents even the low skill jobs or retail jobs. its so sad. People are so unfriendly. very toxic here. very small-town mentality of people dont want to know you if they didnt know you as a child.people dont want you to do better than them and you can feel the envy radiate off people. High obesity rate. the residents here are getting ripped off by the rising cost of living but tbh they deserve it.

Then when our number is called, my daughter requested to take a written driving test instead of a computerized test and the guy says we are so busy there isn't a lot of staff here to grade your test it may take 30 minutes, are you sure you just don't want to take the computer test? Incompetent place of business my mail carrier took it upon himself to put in system that I had…read moremoved with no forwarding address bcuz I was returning mail (which is what you're supposed to do legally)that I was receiving from previous persons that lived here n apparently according to my mail carrier George I was returning too much mail (well that's his job right?) so he decided on his own without looking at the names on mail to put in system that I had moved which I never did if he would've done his job correctly n actually looked and read the names on thmail I was sending back he would've seen it was NOT my name it was the previous persons that lived here so for 2 whole months March n April we have not received any of our mail it's all been sent back to sender stating we moved n left no forwarding address bcuz we've gotten calls n emails from our creditors, utilities ,financial institutions, retirement ,life insurances , etc... asking for us to update our mailing address ? I have put in 3 complaints to USPS online ,I have spoken to the Attorney General ,consumer affairs I've gone numerous times to the post office to speak to postmaster n to this day May 2nd I am still NOT receiving letters n according to them they have resolved the issue yet I'm still getting emails from my creditors to please update my address bcuz they are getting my mail returned to them I am at my wits end with the USPS they are incompetent n lack PR training! so I'm giving them a thumbs down n 0 star review

This post office is on Main Street in El Centro. It is a fairly large and modern building for the…read moresize of the town. I was surprised when we saw it. There is also a good sized parking lot plus some parking on the street. We came in at 11:00-the start of lunch rush on a Friday to weigh and get postage for our tax envelope. There was a short line but it moved pretty fast despite all the different requests. Including our complicated one since we wanted a return request but we were not mailing it today. But the woman was very nice and very helpful. And she figured out how to get it done for us. It's a post office. They are usually short handed for the number of people who come in during the rush at noon or after work. No one likes to wait in line and, luckily, we usually don't have to go here. I will even pay more to go to a UPS store to send things rather than a post office. However, we will come back to this one because it's quite nice.

I had an event in El Centro not connected to the library. I also had a meeting. To avoid having a meeting in my car, I went to the El Centro Library. This library is next level cool! It's sleek, modern, and full of awesome gems--individual study nooks with its own charging hook ups, study rooms, open space layout, including outdoor seating. It may be silly to express but the vibe is relaxed, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The Mission Valley library in San Diego is tensed for no reason. And you have to watch & side eye nearby patrons. I reserved the study room for 2 hours. It was fully equipped! Television, whiteboard w/markers, sanitizer and ample outlets including USB's. The best feature is its accessibility features. From bathrooms to tables to door handles, if you have mobility challenges you'll do fine here. The doors won't slam on you, you can reach the sinks, desk clerk and computers without strain. Respectfully El Centro Library is lovely Please visit your libraries. We never want to lose this magnificent funding source of knowledge. "A library is a terrible thing to waste."
