I'm not usually in Riverside, but when I had to go the other day to take my dog to a vet appointment, I jumped at the chance to try one of the most standout goat birria spots in all of the county - El Chivito. Clean and authentic, I noticed all locals patronizing the spot during lunchtime. We were starving, so we ordered nearly everything on the menu - most notably the surtido plate, a mulito, a goat cheese quesadilla, and various tacos. My absolute favorite was the cabeza taco, due to El Chivito's cabeza meat being absolutely fall-off-the-bone. I could eat twenty of these. Their birria was of excellent quality, and came with plenty of condiments and consome to drench one's birria in. The potato taco was slightly bland, but a good option for the vegetarians. This place is in the shopping center with the Walmart Market! Plenty of parking to find! Inside is a cute little place, it feels very welcoming and warm. I just can not get enough of this place. Just when I think that it cant get better it does! So now on Tuesdays they have tacos for only $2.50! I'm telling you my wallet is happy. I go in get 4 tacos and a drink and pay less than any other "combo" out there. I get to choose the protein too. They have the option of course of the Birria soft tacos and now they have the best Cabeza (head) tacos I have ever tasted. But thats not it. So Friday - Sunday they now offer Menudo and Pozole OMG!!! I can so eat that all weekend and those pata Tostadas and Potato tacos I cant find the words you just have to try. A total must go to place. The service is definitely a 100%!. Stopped by the Corona location. They definitely do goat birria right. I had the pistolita, consomé, and tacos dorados--the meat was tender, tortillas made fresh, and dipping into the broth pulled it all together. The consomé had a lot of flavor without feeling too heavy. I also got the flan pan dulce jericalla, which was a good finish, and the michelada hit the spot. Delicious goat Birria that isn't overly gamey. Love that they make fresh tortillas for you on the spot. Restaurant is clean and there is a sink for hand washing (but doesn't look like there is a bathroom). Service was friendly. There is picnic bench style seating inside, and one table outside right in front of the shop. I had the horchata which was the way I like it: not overly thick, on the watery side. Notes: the menu is in Spanish only. I was able to ask questions in English with the nice woman behind the counter. To go: I got mine to go and everything was packaged nicely. For some reason i don't have a lot pictures of this place, but if you look this name up on tiktok, I'm sure you'll find a video of me reviewing this place. When i was younger my stepdad would always take me to El Borrego de Oro in East LA. It was a weekend tradition and i grew to love goat meat and i was craving it when i found this joint on Yelp. I came here for the first time when COVID first happened and it got hyped up by all the IE foodies we know lol. I was surprised how good the meat and the salsa was. The tortillas here are handmade and they make them in the front so you get to see the ladies making them. I've tried ALL the Aqua fracas and i can say they're all fire. The cafe de La olla is okay, not the best not the worst. My husband and i always get a pound of mix meat and it comes with consome and tortillas. The tortillas here on their own is enough reason to come. It gets pretty packed and it's a small location, takeout is just as good as eating it there for this specific meal. Honestly it's some of the best chivo you're gonna find here in the IE. I can't wait to see them open more locations around the IE :) read more

I have been meaning to try this place for awhile since it's located inside a plaza were I do most of my light shopping for groceries, get drinks at Ding Tea and visit the Giant Dollar store for certain household items sometimes. This place is always pretty packed on the weekends. I came here on a Saturday and the indoor dinning area was packed. I asked to sit outdoor but also because I wanna enjoy some sunshine. They have a pretty big parking lot for this plaza has a Neighborhood Wal Mart, a gym and a few other small shopping stores. I ordered 3 soft tacos and their horchata. Honestly, this is maybe like my third or 4th time having soft tacos in my life. I don't eat Mexican food much, but to honest without a doubt their soft tacos were delicious. I love that they give hot sauce on the side and lemon on the side too. I'm a big fan of making my food or trying to turn all my food into a spicy meal. The horchata was also very flavoring. I drank more than half of it before getting it to go lol because their hot sauce actually had an after stay taste in my mouth for awhile. This place is great! Their hours are sort of limited, so it took me a while to finally try it, but I've been back a few times now. I love birria and this place has been around since before birria tacos became a popular thing. And they do it right here. It's made with goat meat as it always should be, instead of some places that use beef instead. El Chivito Birrieria does a great job with the birria. It's nice and tender with good flavor. If you buy the birria by the pound, you get a bunch of random cuts of the goat including some ribs. Each are tastes a little different and has slightly different flavor, but mix it all together and it's always awesome. I always buy the "por libre", which comes with 1 pound of birria, a big cup of consumme, tortillas, and all the stuff to add to your tacos. The corn tortillas are also freshly made and they're great. They're so soft and pliable and fragrant. They're so much better than any mass produced tortilla. I've thought about dropping by just to buy fresh tortillas. There's also so much birria in the 1 pound meal that after the tortillas and toppings are gone, I always have birria left over and I use it to make birria omelets or quesadillas. The price is very reasonable for the quality and the quantity of food they give you. I always look forward to coming here. read more
