I decided to go here for lunch based on my Yelp search. We came in a little before they opened and…read moresat outside. There were two other families waiting already. Once they were open, it took a long time between us being given menus to finally getting our food- 50 minutes. They should've given us our side while we were waiting for the board. We ordered a side of salami and Swedish cheese and the hairy pig board. I enjoyed the side, but the board not so much. The board consisted of wild boar sausage with broche bun, wild boar taco, peppercorn fries, and wild boar lasagna. The board was quite heavy and salty. I didn't have enough stomach space to even try the taco. I did enjoy the fries, but it's not enough for me to want to return.

This place is tucked below street level and is very intimate and downright cozy with its low beam wood ceiling, wood tables in every cranny it can fit to accommodate guests, and a tiny little bar. You can find this place outside by the wooden sign with the boar on it, then simply peer down into the low window and if you see a hairy pig nomming on a sausage, congratulations! You're in the right place. We stopped in not long before closing time and that was probably the only reason we were able to get a much coveted table. The barkeep was nice and let us put in a quick order while also getting us drinks. Unfortunately for me, there were not very many gluten free tapa options on the menu, but there were a few naturally gf. The salami and sausages were thought to have gluten so I went with the smoked shell on shrimp, a cheese dip, and some salad with olives. I wasn't crazy about the smoked shrimp but the olives and cheese were good. The husband enjoyed a sausage in bun which he said was great. Overall we liked the vibe and I think if you can eat the locally sourced meats like my husband it's probably a pretty solid place. If you're gf or allergy you'll probably still be hungry at the end of the meal like I was.

The portobellos was good but should've been presented as a salad, and the mushroom was sliced so thin. The dumplings were good, but a disappointment as the portion was so small and dumplings aren't supposed to be super crispy. No one cared for the veal special (there were 8 of us). We also had the Nutella and raspberry dessert, not really realizing they were 2 tacos. Would've been impossible to share, but there was room on the brownie plate so we cut them up. And incidentally, the brownies were more like a thick mousse type cake rather than what Americans call brownies.

The sun was hitting the little patio in front of the restaurant when we were there so this is probably a great spot for a glass of wine in the summer. As for the food, we had the bruschetta, the bikini and sweet potato fries. The bikini and fries were good but the bruschetta was presented as one uncut tomato, one raw clove of garlic, a few wilted basil leaves and a toasted bun. We were told to rub the ingredients into the bun ourselves and add olive oil as needed. A bit messy and strange - if I wanted to prepare my own meal I would have stayed home. Other than that, the food was very good.

Felt a bit like a college frat party. Almost skipped it, based on that underwhelming evening, but had to give it another shot late upon an icy and still midnight clear in January. Just amazing...Perfect soundtrack. Sat at the bar to watch the crew, which builds drinks with a bit of panache & showmanship. Started with their Whisky for the Holy Ghost and it was in fact a religious experience: Ghost bourbon, amaretto, Maurin Quina, bitters, salt and served in a chilled corked flask topped with smoke that lingered and really added to the ceremony & taste. My fellow penitents had tasty espresso drinks. It was the second round, however, that was truly memorable. I asked the mad genius behind the bar to concoct an extemporaneous "riff on a Sazerac." Maybe lost in translation, and ended up with more a riff on a vieux carre, but what a riff it was! Michters Rye, calvados in lieu of cognac, a healthy dose of some kind of floral bitters, a few other bitters and a sazeracky absinthe spritz. Guy said he had no idea how it would be, but it was freaking perfection! Skål, indeed.
