seeing this place has 3 stars kinda surprised me, I really enjoyed my meal and the prices match the portion sizes but I appreciate that about a venue because I don't always want to pay so much & carry around leftovers. there was an octopus taco (mar y) that was SO good, like easily one of the top 3 tacos I've ever had. I also tried the steak tacos and the spicy margs. The guac was also good but not big enough for sharing. now here's for the downside of this place. I docked 1 star (and contemplated even giving it 3 stars because of this) but they automatically charged 20% gratuity for us, assuming it was because we were a party of 6, but NYC law/rule is once your party is 8 people, you get automatically 18% applied...... so this did leave a sour taste in my mouth. I usually tip 20% anyway, but I don't want to assume that is OK with everyone. plus our drinks throughout the night were inconsistent, some were watered down. the place is SO packed, you will be sitting next to someone who's table is a centimeter away which doesn't bother me but might bother other people. and the music is very loud. would not recommend this spot for a first date. read more

We made a reservation at 9:15 and they made us wait 45 MINUTES for a table. I would get the wait if we tried to walk in, but it's just bad service to make people wait more than 10 minutes for a table they reserved. There should be a time limit on how long people should be allowed to sit at a table because there were so many tables where they were just talking and not eating or drinking anything. I am giving this place a one star for the unprofessionalism the supervisor demonstrated. We were a party of 6, celebrating a birthday. We ordered lots of food and drinks. Empanadas were great, drinks were tasty and only $5. The server Jonathan was AMAZING! He had such a great, fun personality. He made our table have a great time. At the end of our night,another sever came by and had 6 tequila Casamigo shots on a tray, we told him politely we did not order that, and our server told him this was not for our table. At the end, unfortunately, they got confused and added it to our bill. Which was $92 for shots. Again, for something We did not drink. We did not notice this over charge until we left the restaurant, so we went back. We told our server jonathan about the overcharge and he quickly apologized and said he would get his supervisor on it. This is when the good experience turned TERRIBLE. I was horrified at how a supervisor could treat her customers this way. The supervisor came over with a horrible attitude, and said "whatever is on the bill, is what you all ordered". I explained the server got confused and brought us shots that were not ours and we did not take them. She continued to argue with us!!! She said she saw him bring it to our table, our server jonathan was explaining to her it was by accident. She kept arguing with jonathan saying No, that did not happen, they have to pay for it! She then stormed away , shaking her ahead with such attitude. I was literally in shock. She came back after checking her cameras and removed the charge! SHE DID NOT EVEN APOLOGIZE. I told her demeanor and treatment to her customers was horrifying and unacceptable. She said she was simply going off of what she believed and her cameras showed him coming to our table. But later realized what we told was in fact true. Not only was I late to another event following dinner, I had to argue to get a refund for my money! And put up with a disgusting experience. Color scheme of outdoor and sign of an "all day happy hour" had me sold. Ordered the beef/chicken empanadas and it was tasty and not greasy. The chinaware reminded me of my mothers. Delicate. So good. The glass where drink came in seemed a bit small from what I'm used to but drink packed a mean punch! Got the passion fruit margarita and you can actually taste the passion fruit. The food and drinks were okay; however, the service was awful. We were being constantly ignored when trying to ask for something or our checks to pay, which was another issue. Initially we were told we could only split the bill in two which we were okay with as we were a party of 5, but later on we had the manager come over and tell us we could not split the bill at all because it would be too difficult to split in two. We were just a bit confused with the whole situation and felt ignored while trying to order or ask for supplements during our time there. One of the people in our party had an issue with their food as it seemed dry and stale to which the staff replied "the empanadas are frozen there's nothing we can do about it." Deals deals deals! The vibes at this spot were fantastic on the Thursday evening I visited with my friend. What first caught my attention were the ALL DAY drinks deals $5! Even the food items were VERY reasonably priced. I'm terms of the vibe it was upbeat and fun without being overly loud that you couldn't talk to friends. Had dinner here with a friend on a Friday night. We made a reservation - which I recommended doing if you're coming on a weekend because the place was packed!(tiktok blew it up I assume). Regardless of how busy it was, we were understanding of our wait because we arrived early, & we were seated shortly after our reservation time. Although the space is small, the vibes were good & the decor is cute. Food arrived promptly after ordering, however the drinks took a bit as the bar was backed up due to volume of customers vs the 2-3 people behind the bar ( maybe they should consider pitchers for purchase? ). The food was delicious, comparable to a really good food truck. Although I wish our dishes came with extras fixings like limes, sour cream, hot sauce, etc. I had the Tinga empanada & Al Pastor tacos. Came here for the first time for my cousins birthday. The food is great! The drinks are small but for $5, the size fits the price. The DJ is good but it is definitely hard to hear when talking to the server. When we sat down, there were no cups at the table. We had to ask for water every time the bottle went low. Walked right in and seated right away today around 5pm. Such a cute spot inside and out. The pink and green theme was definitely a vibe and they even had a live DJ. The drinks were priced very well at $5, empanadas were $3 and tacos at $4. Seems like an every day all time deal, which is very convenient for any time of the day. Anyways, a girlfriend and I saw this place on IG & wanted to check it out as we saw they had great prices & a great drink selection.. A server (who showed up mid-service btw) says "your friend forgot to add a tip", to which my friend said that she could've sworn she pressed the 10% option on the card reader (which is a common mistake- before this, there was no reason not to leave one) so he adamantly said "but you didn't, you chose "no tip"... which the option for that wasn't even there... he starts to get nasty & says "when you go out to restaurants, you leave a tip, that's what you do", I assured him that it wasn't our intention not to leave one... and she said she usually leaves her tips in cash anyways, so she'll just do that. Mind you, our bill was like $80. What's $10 more especially for lack luster service that he PARTIALLY gave. He wasn't attentive, he was snobby, and took long to service us but demanded we leave a tip? It wasn't right. Then he goes on to imply that she's broke, and if we didn't have the money, we don't need to be trying to patronize businesses. The steak was actually really well seasoned and very flavorful. The 4 bottles of salsa on table seemed home made were all really good as well. The drinks were small, but seemed to be boozy and tasted good. The Bad: This place is so freaking LOUD. It's louder than a lot of bars and night clubs I've been to. It was almost impossible to talk to the people at my table or even communicate with the waiter. And my question is: why? What is the purpose of bumping music like it's a night club so I can't converse with the people at my table? Have the DJ, fine, but turn down the volume by half. My ears were ringing when I left. This place needs a bigger space. It's way too small to accept large parties and the food they offer for large groups, awful. They made us pay 25 bucks each literally 1 empanada and 1 taco which doesn't include anything else. Desserts, you need to pay for that.
