I have been meaning to leave a review since day one, August & November 21-22 of 2020; I didn't get a chance but will start the year off with a positive review. I ABSOLUTELY love this bakery!! Not only is everything fresh but everyone I have encountered has been so Amazing and Kind. I stop here now when I come to visit family and friends in Florida. Not only have they gone the extra mile for me knowing I'm coming from NC but even to help me with short notice. From Kevin who makes the cakes (absolutely delicious) to every single lady assisting behind the counter, (fresh breads, cookies, sugar doughnuts, etc) if I could remember all their names I would name each and everyone of them. Yelp 100 Challenge 2017: 23/100: Maybe I had high expectations about this place since I read reviews and locals recommended it. Thus the reason why I think it's a fine establishment to grab a sandwich, when in the area, but not a place I would go out of my way to visit. Although the place looks kind of shady from the outside, that's no biggie for me because I'm a firm believer on never judging a book by it's cover and I am often surprised by shady-looking restaurants. So I went in and this Puerto Rican-style bakery/cafeteria is pretty small, but very clean and organized. Immediately I was greeted and asked if I had any questions, while looking at the menu. I did, and questions I asked! ^.^! They have a sandwich, that looks promising for people who enjoy lots of meats which they named as "El Coquítron", after the native Puerto Rican frog, the "Coquí". I was told that it's very similar to "Tripletas", which are sandwiches that have at least 3 different meats. Though I'm not huge on meats, specially red meat, I can see how most people familiar with "Tripletas" or meat-packed sandwiches, would enjoy this sandwich. In my case, I ordered a "Mallorca", which is a type of round-shaped sweet bread that it usually covered with powdered sugar and it can be made into a sandwich. I had my "Mallorca" with American cheese and a fried eggs. This they prepared quite quickly and tasted like a "Mallorca" should taste. I was very content with it and recommend it. On the other hand, I asked for a "Quesito con guayaba", which is a pastry filled with cream cheese, guava paste and has caramelized sugar on top. I will admit that I am VERY picky with "Quesitos". Having been born and raised in Puerto Rico, I developed a very picky taste for "quesitos" and I don't usually find good "Quesitos" in Florida, unless I'm at Kissimmee. However, there is something to take into account. "Quesitos" are prepared daily and are supposed to be served warm. This "Quesito" was cold, giving me the impression that it was probably on a fridge and the guava paste tasted more like strawberry. So I was not impressed, but a bit disappointed. Also had a "café con leche" (similar to a Latte, but has more coffee than milk) and it tasted sort of burned. Finally, I have to admit that most people that have suggested this place to me, always rave about the sandwiches and although "Mallorcas" are not necessarily considered a sandwich, it kind of is and I really enjoyed mine. I have to definitely point out that the service was fast and friendly, even though it was lunch time and the place had quite a few orders that had been placed. read more

The pastries and the coffee are delicious BUT , the ordering process is very disorganized. You need to Double and Triple check your orders to make sure they have it correct. None of the pastries are labeled, you have to repeat yourself several times, point at the pastry you want, then say two "dear, fathers" five "guardian angel prayers" and one "Fajr Prayer" (for good measure) in hopes that you actually get what you ordered. I'm here at the office eating a cheese pastry, which should've been cheese & guava, after I said it to the cashier 3 times, (Spanish, English and Spanglish) and still got the wrong pastry. This place is the only authentic Puerto Rican Bakery in Central Florida from the menu, service and most customers just give you that early morning Puerto Rican breakfast folklore. If you're ever in deltona you have to stop by this little bakery! I went for the first time this morning and it was amazing! I wanted to literally eat everything! They obviously have a variety of pasteries and breads, but also serve breakfast and sandwiches and coffee. We ordered pastrami sandwiches and my mind was blown! The bread was delicious and everything about the sandwich was amazingly fresh and hot...I never expected to get excited about a sandwich but I am! I even bought some fresh bread to take home, and am planning on probs driving back here just for the food. Do yourself a favor and check this little spot out! read more

My husband recommended this Puerto Rican bakery to me. I was excited to take my friend from Texas to enjoy homemade food from a different culture and the food didn't disappoint. The place is a small establishment, very cozy with alot of charm. The coffee is great, I recommend a Tripleta which is a three meat sub. My favorite dessert from here is the guava with cream cheese puff pastry, oh my goodness, it is just heavenly. My friend ordered 10 of these and flew them back to Texas with her. One time I ordered a Cuban but got a steak sandwich and another time, I ordered 2 chicken sandwich one with everything & the other with everything but cheese.
