This place is so fun! I walked in with my friends on a Monday evening and we were able to get a table pretty quickly. Got one of the lovely huge couch tables. It felt like we were on vacation- so gorgeous and chic. Got a little chilly outside and they brought us blankets :) We ordered queso to share which was lovely- so delish. Went quickly! They also have an espresso-martini-esque drink that is SO decadent. They were able to do it decaf too! Got a little chocolate cake to round it off and that was great. A perfect setting for a quick girls get together on the lovely lake Washington. I would definitely come back! Validated parking is super easy and intuitive. View is amazing. Service is attentive and kind. Definitely a cool spot for a birthday dinner. Lots of gluten free options too.
Came in on May 22nd 2026 at 6:30 PM Food: 5/5 The food was phenomenal. We ordered the barbacoa and short rib tacos and both were packed with flavor, incredibly tender, and beautifully prepared. The giant chip was also such a fun and unique touch that made the experience feel memorable and different from other places. Service: 4/5 Despite the restaurant being busy during our 6:30 reservation time, the servers were attentive, checked in on us often, and were very informative with menu recommendations. The actual dining service was great and the staff handling our table did an amazing job keeping up with how busy it was. Hostess Experience: 1/5 The star was for the brunette hostess in the cute Anthropologie/Free People looking outfit. She seemed very sweet and made us feel welcome. Unfortunately, a couple moments later, a hostess interaction completely changed the tone of the night. Originally, we were seated inside after my friend asked a male host/manager if outdoor seating was available, and he let us know there wasn't any at the moment. A few minutes later after sitting back down at our table, the hostess in the black tank bodysuit and white skirt with strawberry blonde hair came over to let us know that an outdoor communal table had opened up. What made the interaction uncomfortable was the way she approached us -- or honestly, the lack of approaching me at all. She directed all of her attention toward my friend, barely acknowledged my existence. She was bent forward leaning on the table with both hands on it toward him, and asked only him, "Is this okay with you?" in a giggly tone, while fully facing him and turning her back toward me entirely. This was distasteful, inappropriate, and blatantly rude. My friend said the interaction was unprofessional and uncomfortable, especially since we both work in the restaurant industry. Personally, I could never do this myself as someone who is also a hostess at a restaurant. I feel that it's honestly common sense to acknowledge everyone at the table, regardless of couples, families, friends, etc. Even if one person asks the question, you still make eye contact with both guests and speak to both people equally. I wasn't going to write a poor review until I saw her seat another couple and acknowledge both of them, including the woman. Watching that interaction unfold in front of me signaled that she is fully capable of doing something that simple and consciously chose not to do it for us. It was disappointing because the restaurant itself and the food were genuinely great.
The setting here is hard to beat--beautiful views and a great place to spend time. Where this visit fell short was the menu. I had been looking forward to the guacamole and their unique, large-format chips. The concept is great, but both lacked flavor. The guacamole needed salt and lime--I had to ask for both--and even after adjusting, it still didn't come together. If you're plant-based or avoiding dairy, options are very limited. Beyond the guacamole, there wasn't much I could eat. That's a challenge for a restaurant that attracts groups--when one person has few options, it often changes where everyone goes. I'd encourage them to take a cue from places like Cactus and add a few thoughtful, clearly executed plant-based or dairy-free dishes. It doesn't take much, but it makes a difference. Service may have just been an off day--they seemed short-staffed. The busser was warm and attentive--Shay and I appreciate his effort. I'll check back in at the end of May to see if the menu has evolved and give it one more try. Remember not open for lunch
This is a great spot for date night or to have a few cocktails with friends. The view was incredible and the outside seating was great especially on the sunny evening it was. The food portions aren't massive so it's a nice place to go if you want to share food with a group or your date. Service was very attentive and accommodating which was nice. The only complain I'd have is an uncomfortable moment I had with one of the hosts here. I came here with my girlfriend and we got sat inside, however I went up to the host counter and asked what seemed like the manager, who was a man, if there was any outdoor seating available. A few minutes later a younger girl host came up to our table and payed 0 attention to my girlfriend, and leaned pretty closely towards me to inform me about availability outside. As a server myself, I never close my body off to anyone at a table and always acknowledge everyone at my tables, so it was uncomfortable that she felt it was ok to do that. Otherwise this place was fantastic and everything else was great.
Great views and service! Not much else thought, food was rough, just missed on execution. Guacamole had zero cilantro or cumin and cracker tasted burned. Chile de nogado walnut sauce was gritty. Queso fundido base was broken, undercooked flour. Mahi tacos were okay but messy (shells too small and dissolved). But, we ordered the "flourless cake" and we got a mediocre ( better to go to Safeway instead), boring standard floured layer cake. -1 star for that. If they were sold out, it would been better to just say it than sub this in.
I had a business happy hour here and it was perfect! Sunny patio with a beautiful view, attentive service that double checked everything for gluten allergy, and delicious food. We mostly just sampled the appetizers and many of the cocktails which were all delicious. Love the spot and the views and plan to return on another sunny day.
Had a great time and especially enjoyed the ribeye! The amount of food you get for the price is great, and also really like trying the different mocktails. Highly recommend the Horchata and Haley's comet! We got Haley as our server and she was amazing, had the best recommendations and friendly. The ice cream sandwich is a must! The interior was elegant and modern, lots of seating and would be great for a nice sunset.
Me and my friends recently had a birthday celebration on Saturday March 28 2026 at 7:30 pm at El Encanto and unfortunately had a disappointing experience . We had reserved a private room ahead of time, expecting a smooth and enjoyable evening. While I will say the food was great overall, there were still some issues--our tacos were extremely spicy without any warning, and we even found fish bones in them, which was unexpected and concerning. Unfortunately, the biggest issue was the host's behavior. At one point, he approached us abruptly and very rudely told us to put our camera away, saying "this is not a studio for you guys," and implied it was because of nearby guests. However, the guests at the next table actually reassured us that they did not mind at all and even offered to take pictures for us, which made the situation even more confusing and unnecessary. What made it even more frustrating is that there was no prior notice or policy communicated about not using a camera or flash. The restaurant is already quite dim, and at no point were we informed that taking pictures would be an issue. After the incident, I asked a server for the host's name and who was in charge. I was able to speak with Sergio, the manager on duty, who did apologize for the experience. He also mentioned that as a gesture for the inconvenience, desserts would be on the house if we decide to return. While the apology was appreciated, it doesn't take away from how rude and unprofessional the initial interaction was. Overall, the way the situation was handled by the host really took away from what should have been a special night. I hope management takes this seriously and improves both communication and professionalism moving forward, especially for guests celebrating important occasions.
If I could take a moment to touch on the ambiance -- I would give it THE award. From the vibe, to the lighting, to the buzzing of the restaurant, it's just a perfect restaurant. I love it. My husband and I came over after our anniversary massage and facial at Still Spa. We originally were going to walk the boardwalk, and grab a bite later but El Encanto had drawn us in with their menu. When we walked in service was ON. We were greeted by the manager and the host, both of whom were so kind. They asked if we had a reservation, we didn't - and we were in luck! We snagged a seat on the patio with stunning birds, and happy people celebrating the 2nd day of boating season. We live in the neighborhood, and it was really a great day to be out. When it comes to my husband and me, we're traditionalists - personally, if there's Huevos Rancheros on a menu, day or night, I'm getting it. My Sonoran roots crave it! My husband found a love for making Chilaquiles - and he enjoyed his brunch, it was our servers favorite too. We both got a black coffee, we each tried a juice - mine was carrot, so fresh and delicious. It really was a nice meal, one I'll remember. Our total was over $100 - and well worth it. A LITTLE NOTE: I feel the need to share that Como needs to study and adopt El Encanto's hospitality and professionalism. They too could make people feel welcome.
My husband made a reservation here for a group of 10 of us for my 40th birthday. The food was delicious, but it took forever. I know a group of 10 is a lot to serve and it won't be as quick as usual, but none of us ordered anything elaborate and the wait was well beyond reasonable. The drinks even took forever, so we found ourselves ordering in advance just to make sure we wouldn't have to wait. I give credit to our server who was helpful with recommendations and willing to suggest different options for drinks. She was lovely. The space we had was wonderful and intimate, one large table off to the back side, and overall I enjoyed it. Just the whole experience turned into a 3 hour thing when it shouldn't have. I'll still give 5 stars because overall it was good and to give anything less based on our party size wouldn't be fair. I'll definitely try again with a smaller group, and maybe during the spring/summer to check out the view. We'll see how the service is then and I'll update if need be.
Made our way to Kirkland today and found ourselves at El Encanto. Food was yummy, and the service was top notch! We opted to sit outside and found ourselves sitting with another random couple. They were really nice so it worked out haha. The view you get setting outside is amazing but don't forget your sun glasses especially now that the weather is getting nicer! I wish they had some fans outside to specially for hot days like today! I'd come back again for the food alone but the view and service was a nice bonus!

I was excited to try El Encanto but left feeling underwhelmed. Food: The menu was limited. I was expecting a larger variety of options with more classic Mexican dishes. I got the Mahi Mahi tacos. They were tasty but not worth $24 ($8 each). The menu seemed overpriced. Unlike other Mexican restaurants, complimentary chips and salsa were not provided. Parking: They validate parking for the parking garage located right next to the restaurant. There were plenty of parking spaces in the garage. Atmosphere: Beautiful views of Lake Washington, especially at sunset. There was no signage directing to the bathrooms in the restaurant. They're tucked down a hallway near the entrance. Service: Service was prompt and our food came out quick. Our waiter checked on us consistently and ensured our waters were regularly refilled. My friend and I were celebrating our birthdays. The hostess acknowledged it when she seated us. We saw others who were celebrating receive a dessert, complete with a sparkling candle. I was hoping they'd do something special for us since we shared the occasion, but it was either overlooked or ignored. I don't plan on returning. You can get just as tasty Mexican food for half the price and a larger menu selection at other nearby Mexican restaurants. read more

Didn't hate it but didn't love it! Definitely overpriced and lacked flavor on all dishes. Came in with a group of my girlfriends and we had made a reservation so no issues getting a table. Parking was fairly easy in the lot too and is validated by the restaurant for 2 hours. The service was attentive and fast, and the ambiance was nice, it didn't feel like you were in Kirkland, WA. Now to the food. I got the: - Shrimp Tacos: the tacos were tiny and there was one jumbo shrimp per taco, which was ridiculous! I had to cut up the shrimp to make sure I got shrimp in each bite. It took around 2 bites to finish the taco, so they are small. The slaw was tasty and shrimp seasoned & cooked well. The rice and beans were tasteless. - Chips & Salsa: Not pictured, but the tortilla chips were delicious and clearly house made. The salsa was underwhelming, and lacked flavor. - Dry Creek (NA drink): tasty drink with guava, citrus and NA sparkling wine - Churro Ice Cream Sandwich: this was by far one of my favorite things of the dinner! The churros was soft but crispy and the caramel gelato/ice cream was so good!! I'd order 10 more of these! - Flan: this was good, but nothing out of this world Overall, I'd probably go back for the ambiance and for drinks and dessert! Otherwise overpriced with mediocre tasting food. read more
My review will echo a lot of others on here, this place is great for drinks and views but the food is very average. We got the chicharron guac and the pieces of meat were tough and chewy. I also think the one large cracker is unnecessarily complicated, normal chips would be fine. We also got the Mahi mahi taco plate and the barbacoa taco plate. The mahi tacos had a really good sauce, but the barbacoa ones were dry which is confusing because when I get them from taco trucks they're always dripping in sauce and messy to eat. But delicious. Not the case here. And honestly the rice and beans on the side taste like cafeteria food. I wouldn't mind that much if it didn't cost ~$25 per taco plate. I would definitely come back for drinks and to enjoy the view, and shoutout to Sunny who is the BEST server and made our whole night. He's mentioned in a lot of reviews, and for good reason. This place has a lot of potential if they could just provide food that warrants these prices, I'd be happy to pay if it were truly that good, but it's not. read more

Great ambiance, service and views! No doubt one of the best places for patio dining. We went in for brunch and food was mediocre at best, tasteless and extremely overpriced. We did like the seafood cocktail ceviche, but we can't recommend this place to our friends. read more
Pros first! 5 stars for location 5 stars for our server Sunny! He was incredibly sweet and went out of his way to make our evening spectacular Negatives! 1 star for the manager Eric! This guy needs to be coached on how to talk to patrons! My friend had her service dog on her lap on a patio, and he was like I need you to get him off your lap! She was like he is there to help me with panic attack and he grudgingly left us alone! But he was rude the whole time prior too. Our kind server had brought water for our puppy, just as he did for the puppy across our table. But Eric came and said we shouldn't have even given u water for ur dog. The audacity of this man was beyond us! Forget us as patrons, his tone is so rude and condescending I don't know how they even retain employees under him. I'm sure servers quit their jobs because of the manager and his patronizing attitude! So dear general manager, coach your manager coz u lost customers and I'm sure will and have been losing employees thanks to Eric! 1 star for food! It's beyond horrible! Dude the quality of their steak is worse than that of dennys! It felt like a cheap piece of meat from Safeway! The guacamole appy was decent but it was downhill there on 2 star for drinks! For the price point they really were that great! Overall! If you must, go there for the location and sunset and ask for Sunny to serve you! He makes up for their sad, mean and grumpy manager! Get drinks and leave! Dont waste your money on food! Oh and the hosts are kind! Shout out to Sarah for getting us a table on the patio! read more

Castillon point has great views and outdoor spaces to meet with friends. The staff at El Encanto is really nice and attentive and they even brought out a dog bowl for our dog! We all enjoyed our cocktails, but that's where I wish we stopped. The food is good, not great. The torta tastes entirely of the sauce, pork and cheese which makes it taste closer to spaghetti than a torta. Also a shame because they said they baked the bread themselves. The guacamole chicharron has a nice crunch, but you can't taste the avocado unless you take a big scoop. All small things, but when I almost drop two bills on brunch for two people, I need to be wowed. My suggestion, stick with the drinks. read more

This place is great. It's on the water facing west and offers nice sunset views. Food is outstanding. Guac, tacos, fish, and a ribeye offering. I ordered the mussels from the appetizer menu and it was brilliant. A mix of clams, mussels, chorizo, calamari, and octopus with crusty bread on the side. The staff was overloaded on this evening and after informing the manager, he stepped in and helped take orders to move things along. Thank you sir! The meal ended with a surprise complimentary dessert offering. It was a cornbread soaked iced cake that was amazing. Thank El Encato for helping our out of town guests enjoy the time. read more

The newest Kirkland gem! This stunning spot opened up in May & came out with a bang. Definitely a 10/10, with beautiful views, live music on Thursdays, & delicious food and drinks, you can't beat it. Also the service was amazing; we were treated like queens. Located right below Como, it's going to be a tough decision choosing between the two for future din. My first time at El Encanto was better than expected based on what I heard from other people. The staff was accommodating and I really appreciated the recommendations that our waiter Nico gave us. He was great! Very attentive, and personable! The place is nice, they did a good job with the decoration, it feels modern, fresh and hip. And the view is unbeatable! Even on a very sunny and warm day the breeze from the lake makes it very enjoyable. I loved the lounge seating! I had their boozy horchata and it was nice. I was surprised to see so few tequila cocktails on the menu. I'm sure they can make you something you like but I would expect some creative and unique tequila cocktails to be featured in their drink menu. For food we ordered the chicken tacos (mole) and I thought they had good flavor but were a bit dry. Don't order the Hamachi Crudo and go for "El Encanto Ceviche" instead... really good! We liked the corn (esquite) and the guacamole that comes with pomegranate, but our favorite dish was the "Chile en Nogado", very tasty and a great combination of flavors. This was Nico's recommendation :) This review should really be a 3.5 because I thought their prices are pretty high for the portion sizes, they didn't not have the crab tostadas and their drink menu is small. read more
Ambiance- 5/5. If you sit outside, you get to enjoy a beautiful view of Lake Washington. Love it! Service - 3.5/5. Could be better, but acceptable for now as it's still new. Food & drinks - 4/5. Everything we ordered was delicious. Price - 2/5. Definitely overpriced. Each should be a half of the price for what you get, but you are paying for the location. read more

My friends made a reservation for this spot for a belated birthday dinner for me. We had to wait a little bit to be seated, it almost seemed like they'd accidentally given away our table and were scrambling (we were exactly on time), but eventually seated. The menu was brief but had plenty of delicious options. The guacamole with pomegranate was delicious! I ordered the Barbacoa Tacos and did not disappoint. So much meat piled high. The biggest downside was how loud it was in the restaurant. It is a place for a view, and good food, but not for intimate conversation. read more

If you are wanting to come sit outside on their outdoor patio area with a great water view and nibble on some apps and drinks, then this is a great place to go! If you are expecting amazing Mexican food then not. The prices are also very expensive but then again you are paying for the restaurant experience and the water view. I liked the crab tostados but wasn't a huge fan of the short rib tacos. The service was great overall, very friendly servers and the food and drinks came out pretty fast as well. I'm glad we came to check it out but will probably not return. read more
My team and I decided to come here for lunch. We started off with La Diabla Salsa, which I thought was really good, and the Chicharón Guacamole, which was good, but the pork belly was overcooked and a bit too dry. My Cinco Hermanos and Valentino cocktails were tasty. Everyone ordered tacos, but there was a table nearby that ordered steak, which looked pretty good, so I went with that Ribeye Al Carbon. The ordered the ribeye rare and they cooked it well. Service was great. read more

My husband and I have been excited to try this restaurant for quite some time! We live really close, so the location is convenient and so is parking. We miss the entrance to the restaurant at first because the door is placed in a strange spot. I love the decor and ambiance of this spot. We went on "Spaghetti Western Wednesday" where they show a western movie at the bar and have special additions to the menu. My husband ordered the Spaghetti Western cocktail and thought it was delicious! I had their version of a house margarita and thought it was very good! I had the chicken tacos. I didn't find them very flavorful, but was impressed by the amount of chicken on them! I read some reviews saying the portions were small, but I didn't find that at all! I don't remember what my husband ordered, but it also had large portions. The hostess and our waitress were both very nice! We will be back for the margs, and would like to try some of the other tacos. Hoping for more flavor to update this review to 5 star! read more

Reviewing for: Birthday Brunch w. table of 4 Came to El Canto at the request of the birthday girl- made reservations. The patio was first come first served but it rained so opted for inside. Location: easy to get to and right on the water- perfect for the occasion and there's a parking garage where you can receive parking validation. Food + Drinks: we started with a few cocktails which were great and instagrammable. Continued on with the mixed ceviche- the table loved the ceviche. We ordered variations of tacos and the torta ahogada. The food gave elevated mexican food (which it was) so the flavors were fine but you pay for the ambience and drinks. Finished with the birthday girls choice of tres leches + Churro ice cream sitch. The churro ice cream was the best thing in my opinion. Space: the space is pretty and again, designed for insta-worthy photos so keep that in mind. The outdoor on the water is gorgeous when weather appropriate. Booths and tables with moveable chairs. Bathroom was dark and vibey and they had those plush bathroom napkins that are in baskets. Overall: The space and menu, in my opinion, make this restaurant more of an occasion but wouldn't come here because something is my favorite. read more
Yikes, I really wanted to love this place because it is such a beautiful space with an amazing view!! We were so excited to try this place when it opened but it was sadly a huge disappointment. The 3 stars is solely for the vibe, interior and the waterfront view! I went with a group of my girlfriends and from the beginning, the hostess was not very friendly and we made reservations but still had to wait awhile to get seated. Even after we were seated, service was very slow and we were very understanding because they're new and it was pretty busy. But our server took forever to take our order and bring out our food. And the food was just so bland? There were couple dishes (some of the tacos) that were pretty good but nothing amazing. At the end of the night we wanted to order dessert and we first ordered churros and our server took our order and then came back and told us they are all out of it, so we ordered the ice cream sandwich and then he came back again and said it was all out. So we told him no thanks we just won't get any dessert. Then later he came back to our table with two scoops of gelato (I was with a group of 5 girls btw) saying sorry that the dessert we wanted was all out but he wanted us to try their gelato. So we were pleasantly surprised and just said thank you (we did NOT order these).. and at the end of the night we got our bill and he charged us for the gelato? Hahaha we were so baffled. Mind you we ordered a lot of food and drinks and even wanted dessert which they were all out of the ones we wanted... It wasn't about the cost of the gelato, it's just the principle of it... we didn't order it & he brought it to us making it seem like it was on the house and then charged us for it?? What a weird experience. I may go back again just for the atmosphere and the view, but won't expect good food or good service. read more

Great views and food was delicious. Definitely on pricey end but worth it for special occasions. Came for my birthday and when we asked about a birthday dessert, the server said that he could make something for us so we said ok. He came out with a platter of some of their best sellers and it was nice but they didn't tell us the price of it and we saw it afterwards on the bill which was strange. The sangria was much stronger than expected but it was good (white was better than red). The taco portions are pretty small but it was overall a good meal. read more
I'm not sure what the other reviews are seeing here but this is a solid 5/5 for me. I would say there's a place for this, Cantina Monarca, and Adrian's but this may be my favorite of the three. I absolutely love the atmosphere. It's truly beautiful inside, with views of the water and open windows on a nice day. Everything was fantastic, including the service (thank you Tyler!). Our water glasses were filled often. Loved the verde and La Diabla salsas, as well as the guac with pomegranates and poblano. The tamales with Dungeness crab and the mahi mahi tacos are unlike anything you can't get in the area. Sooo good. Don't be dissuaded by the reviews and give this place a try. read more

Wonderful view, vibes ,food and service. Visited during sunset hour and it was very beautiful. Great location with lake views. Anything from the service to the food was spectacular I had a cocktail then I ate one of the best guacamole I ever had in my life From there, we went to some tacos and salad The people were nice and the view is out of this world read more

Came here as a surprise from my husband to celebrate our anniversary. We had reservations and I don't think they do anything or even acknowledged our celebration but it's ok, we don't expect the red robin fanfare. My first reaction was that it was very vibrant with beautiful views. Inside it has a vacation feel but not a lot of decor which is not good or bad... The service - was top notch. Waters filled, plates removed, recommendations and knowledgeable waitstaff. No complaints there. I have no complaints at all other than the price vs portion size, which I understand. It's considered an upscale Mexican restaurants but the guac and chips were laughable. We got one giant chip. No matter how much of a splurge we wanted this was just hilarious to me. The food itself was delicious. You get 3 tacos for about $19-$25 depending on the protein you get. There are limited menu options I would say and the portions are small. I left satisfied and not too full but you know when you spend a lot you expect to be FULL FULL, anyways... The drinks were delicious and great presentation. I would probably save this place for another celebration, would be great if they had some sort of HH but not sure what that would even have, maybe half a chip read more

Came here on a busy evening with no reservation. The place was packed and Nothing was available. At first we were told there is no space because there were a lot of people coming that had reservations. The hostess worked very hard to get us In and Somehow we got the best table outside during sunset and it was beautiful! The service was great. We ordered some appetizers (camarones al pastor) - this was way overpriced for what it was.. 4 shrimps and a few pieces of grilled pineapple for $25. Not worth the money in my opinion. We also got the traditional guacamole which was really good! We tried the desebrada tacos, barbacoa tacos, pollo tacos, and camarones tacos. The favorite was the desebrada short rib tacos however the others were good too. For desert, we tried the churros and they were very good! Perfect amount to share at the end of your meal. The view was beautiful, the vibe is great - upscale. Overall a great experience but I am removing one star for overpriced appetizers. read more

This place is beautiful. The food is to die for. Their service is impeccable. And I literally haven't seen my family devour entrées faster before. Everything was just spectacular.
