Was recommended this place for some of the best tacos in Cancún. Unfortunately since I was in town for a wedding this was the only local place I got to try as most of my other meals we at a resort :( It was cool that this was a local restaurant and not some tourist trap. The food was solid and tasty. I am fortunate enough to have many good taquerias where I live so I can't say they were the best tacos I've had, but they were good. I got a couple of pastor since they were highly recommend as well as couple of sirloin, both types on harina since this isn't an option at most taquerias I go to. I also got a media de guacamole, papa al carbon, and a limonada natural. Like I said everything was solid, it didn't disappoint nor was it outstanding. I would recommend this place but not make it a must go to. It was better than the food at the resort I visited. read more

Al Pastor Tacos are off the hook! They cook and slice pineapple pieces into each taco and it just gives it this delicious tanginess. Very reasonably priced, lots of locals eat here. Fresh, cheap and delicious. Very friendly and attentive staff, would glance over or pass by to ask if we needed anything else. 2 Thumbs up El Fogón! read more

Very nice and open seating area with street view. It is not in the major Playa Del Carmen beach area so not crazy crazy noisy or busy, which I liked. The drinks here are fantastic. (I cannot really comment on the food as I could not try much of the food as I was feeling a bit sick, but I'm sure it is fantastic and delicious) I first got a lemonade...I think. It was fresh and good. I got a papaya "juice" as my second drink, but it was more like a fantastic smoothie of tropical awesomeness. (Totally above my expectations) Their service is quick and friendly also. We order as much as we could as food and drinks were so cheap and reasonably priced ! They had an awesome guitarist/singer playing some cool songs. He was the best guitarist/singer I have encountered throughout the trip. Would definitely come here again on my next visit :) read more

Definitely love the tacos de pastor! They have a mango strawberry drink I like. I prefer the location on avenue Nichupte because they have AC. A major downer for me at both locations is that the volume on their TVs are always so loud. read more
