One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. My friend and I attempted to order in Spanish (we are beginners trying our best to learn and practice) & our waiter wouldn't let us get a word out. My friend asked for tap water & the waiter brought out bottled water. Our waiter also angrily grabbed the menus off the table and quite literally stomped off. It was very strange, disrespectful, and a little scary. If I could choose, I would rate this place 0 stars and advise the owner to close this place down! The customer service is absolutely horrendous and discriminating. Sure, European service isn't known to be fabulous in the first place, but I'm sure manners are still a thing in Spain right?? My party of 3 asked the blonde waitress if they had a pitcher of sangria, and she said yes. Then, I asked her if they have a liter of beer for us to share instead, which she answered "Yes, we can do that too." I told her alright, we'll take the beer then. We received the sangria a few minutes later from a male waiter and were surprised since we just ordered a liter of beer. I told him upfront, "Sorry, I believe we actually ordered a liter of beer." He asked the female waitress, but she affirmed to him that the sangria was the right order. I then declined and said "No, we ordered the beer but it's fine. We'll just take the sangria then." I heard the waitress mocking us from behind the bar (we were sitting at the table right next to the bar). She used a high pitched voice to mock me in Spanish, but I recognized her saying "sangria this sangria that" and flashed us a dirty look. Excuse me?? How dare you have the audacity to treat your customers this way? She never served us afterwards and had her coworkers interact with us for the rest of our seating. We were on a tour and were dropped off at the square to go find our own lunch. My family and a few others picked this restaurant due to the large menu and we have picky eaters. This place was able to please or pickiest off eaters. Our group had everything from pizza to hamburger, from lasagna to chicken fillets and everyone liked their food. Not sure why this only has three stars. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Spanish omelette was very tasty and the four of us split three types of desserts. The best one being the creme de tostadas. The desserts are the star of the show. Yumtastic! read more

This was by far the worst meal we had in Spain. The Pasta and Pizza were terrible. And while I realize that Italian isn't there specialty bad is bad. Don't bother stopping by move on to a different courtyard cafe. read more

They have really friendly staff and quick service. But the best thing about El Foro is their deer meat. I ate here twice in March 2016 and just came back again last night. If you like deer meat, their dishes are a must try when visiting Toledo. Their Sangria is also not half bad read more

Great location and the food was tasty. Downside is service super slow, two tapas we ordered after being told paella would be 30 minutes (which is fine and not the reason for slow service comment) never were served even after asking twice. Typical touristy prices. read more

I tried a partridge on their menu never having had a partridge before. Turned out to be pretty palatable with very tender meat which fell off the bones without much effort. This is such a pleasant place to have a tea or a glass of wine and let your feet recuperate. We did not eat the pastries but went to check them out and everything looked very fresh and tasty. Great way to watch the work go by. Full of Spaniards. Always a good sign. read more

Great location on the Plaza de Zocodovar. (Happy to be next to McDonald's and not in it!) We didn't come for a full meal, but friendly staff seated us right on the square. I had nice a ham and tomato sandwich with impeccably fresh baguette-style bread and a couple of glasses of the house red (a local Tempranillo) which I really enjoyed. The food was just okay. We ordered those mixed dinners. The portion is small and they have two difference pricing on their menu which is confusing. Their seafood rice was expensive compare to comparable of the same dishes in Madrid and other restaurants in Toledo. Customer service was okay. Would I think this is a good go? I think not.
