El Fortillo is a tiny antiques shop located in the Galería Fuente del Angel shopping plaza in Cordoba's Güemes neighborhood. Like the other storefronts in this shopping galeria, the store isn't very big inside, only enough for one or two people at a time. I was nervous that my purse would knock something valuable over the whole time! This store seems to specialize in vintage glassware and china, although it does have other items, such as costume jewelry, porcelain, and housewares. There are entire sets of beautiful old wine and cordial glasses and barware for home bartenders. Even though it's not very big, the store is packed so full that there's a lot to see. I would have liked to bring home an antique glass or two, but I don't think they would have survived the trip in my suitcase... read more
