Had another excellent team event at El Globo which has an amazingly attentive staff, a wide variety of really delicious Pintxos that you won't find at other places nearby and a great indoor and outdoor space. El ultimo.

Delicious pintxos. We ate here 2 times during our stay in Bilbao. What a treat. It's a very large bar so plenty of room. One can easily find a place to stand and eat. Service was always on point. Quick and efficient. The also are really good at keeping the place neat and tidy for all the guests.

Some of the tastiest pintxos in Bilbao! They offer a great variety of classics, but each has a unique twist. I recommend the squid, crab gratin, and chorizo. The service was a bit of a mess lol people everywhere trying to get into the queue to order. However, the staff did their best and delivered everything as quickly as possible. I recommend going at off-peak hours... Unless you want to experience ordering like the locals XD

Small little shop but has tons of people. If you think chinese people have poor service Spain is the same. You wait in a scramble and whenever the server is ready to take your order they will acknowlede you. There is no systematic line in ordering. You do your best to get someone's attention and then order. They are pintxos bar and what was recommended was the crab one. I am not a huge fan of the pintxos because looking at most them they are mostly cream or mayo based, which I think is too heavy for my liking. I did try the crab one and of course it was super creamy and fatty it was very soft and didn't have any texture except for the bread it was on. However I did get a chorizo with bread and that was really good. It looked like it was going to be dry and tasteless but it was perfect. Had a lot of flavor and the bread balanced the fattiness of the chorizo. I was able to wrap it with paper and save it for later and it was still good the next day.

Potatoe gratin with truffle mousse Very good.

Food has high rankings and came recommended. Unfortunately the service can be improved. Very angry older woman working the counter destroyed one of my orders - gave me the tomato on goat cheese without all of the tomato and the cheese crust half peeled- because she had a fit that I asked for it from her instead of the first guy I spoke to who sent me to that side of the bar. I realized the inconsistency til I took the photo below. Just a warning for tourists, make sure you know what you're doing beforehand or you'll get your head chewed off. They also ask for food to be payed for upfront. Just coming from San Sebastián where they were a lot more welcoming and charged after eating, it was kind of a weird cultural change. Hoping for a better time in Bilbao at this point.

Great Pintxos bar. It's always busy but easy to get an area to stand and eat and drink. Ambiance is lovely and fun.

El Globo was the first stop on our Pinxtos hop in Bilbao. We read all the good reviews so decided to give it a try. There was a good variety to choose from and we tried 6, but our favorite was the squid. Many are heavy on the mayo and creaminess so if you are health conscious you need to choose carefully.

We really ate at nearby Eliptica Restaurant but they do not have a yelp site We took tram out to bay of biscay, then stopped here on way back We had to wait until 13:00 but had a nice cerveza We ordered the cod, ham hock and the risotto and beans On the fixe price menu for 16 euros. For desser a variety of pastries, we close apple pie and coconut pie Comes with a glass of red wine too

I'll take one of each, please!

Pintxos galore! Had to practically roll myself out of this place, since I ate so much. The pintxos and pours were incredible and inexpensive. It can get crowded, so once you park yourself at the bar, try to stay there until you're ready to leave for good. A must-visit when in town.

They had a prix fixe menu that came with a glass of wine and a small appetizer of hummus to get you started. For my meal, I ordered Iberian pork and a pear dessert. While waiting for the pork to arrive, a server asked me if I wanted the meat cooked to optimal perfection or well cooked. I found this odd being that pork, of course, should be fully cooked right? Yet, I told him to bring it out at what the chef believed to be its perfect temperature and well, was I in for a SHOCK. It was wonderful!! Juicy and full of deep rich fatty flavor. My dessert was pretty epic as well given that all the flavors just blended so beautifully together! Silky cream and well spiced fruit. Please do yourself a favor and eat here!! If you want to eat close to the museum, it is convenient. But if you have the time, you may want to consider the alternatives. Which isn't to say it's bad. Frankly, typical for a museum cafe, meaning you would not intentionally dine there when there are so many good restaurants in Bilbao.

My pick from the menu was the avocado salad, constructed on a base of some of the freshest greens including escarole and lamb's lettuce (canonigos in Spanish). This luscious bed of crunchy greens was topped with generous slices of avocado encircling a mound of queso fresco cubes and pine nuts, and the whole plate was drizzled with a vinaigrette made of honey and mustard. The salad greens were perfectly dressed, and the creamy avocado and queso fresco paired nicely with the earthy pine nuts and the crunch of the dried black olive powder sprinkled on top. We also tried the Piadina de Carpaccio, a hot flatbread sandwich stuffed with slices of pastrami, mesclun, melted Parmesan cheese, radish cream, and pumpkin seeds. The slices of beef were juicy and smokey, pairing perfectly with the unctuous melted cheese, the earthy pumpkin seeds, and the refreshing bite of the greens! There were so many other delicious-looking plates going by that I wish we could have tried (and photographed) even more dishes from the menu, but you simply can't go wrong with the selections here!

The pintxos counter alone is worth the visit. Every bite looked like a miniature work of art, making it almost impossible to choose. We started with the Gilda, the iconic Basque pintxo of olives, Cantabrian anchovies, and pickled guindilla peppers. It was bright, salty, and the perfect way to wake up our appetites. The Idiazabal cheese soup with quail egg was one of the most memorable dishes we had in Bilbao. Creamy, silky, and comforting, it was topped with crispy potato sticks, crunchy corn, herbs, edible flowers, and a perfectly cooked quail egg that made every spoonful rich without feeling heavy. Another favorite was the tuna served in a vintage-style sardine tin, topped with roasted red peppers. The presentation was clever, but the quality of the tuna really stood out. It was incredibly fresh, tender, and paired beautifully with the sweet peppers. We also couldn't resist the jamón Ibérico on toasted bread with grated tomato (pan con tomate). Sometimes the simplest pintxos are the best, and this one showcased just how exceptional good Iberian ham can be. Everything was beautifully presented without sacrificing flavor. Even though the bar was busy, service was efficient, and the lively atmosphere made it feel like a place where both locals and visitors come for outstanding pintxos.
