I asked the woman at the museum for a restaurant recommendation. I told her we wanted to have a variety of tapas. She immediately suggested this place, in which she said it was one of her favorites. It was a 10-minute walk from the museum. We were able to get the last table outside under an umbrella. There were four of us, so we ordered a nice round of tapas: shrimp of the season, serrano ham, smoked fresh cheese (topped with large raisins), and chorizo, and bread right out of the oven. Along with that two of us had sangrias; the other two had beers. The sangrias were refreshing and a nice change from just drinking wine. The shrimp were very small and difficult to eat. One of my friends ate the entire shrimp (but not the head) stating he wasn't bothered by the shell. I much prefer the gambas al ajillo. Everything else was excellent. The juice from the chorizo was sopped with the bread. The cheese had a nice smoky flavor but not too heavy. Friendly service by our waiter. Over all, a great choice for lunch!

This place was a block off the main drag, and honestly, it didn't look like much, but we were tired of walking. The food was authentic and AMAZING!!! Started with a tapas plate of fried goat cheese topped with three different toppings. For the main course, my wife had a pancake filled with prawns and veggies. I had the best cod dish I've ever had on a bed of potatoes. Add a couple bottles of local beer and a sangria unlike any I've ever tasted and we had an outstanding meal. We had our lunch here al fresco and shared an order of Boquerones (marinated anchovies) and Ibérico con Manchego y "Pa amb tomàquet" (Spanish cured reserve Serrano ham with manchego cheese and bread with tomato). Keep your eyes peeled for the yellow building as the sign is small. With a bit of Español in your arsenal, the kind staff will guide you. Also, no need to fear as the menu is translated to English. The house wines are refreshing. We started with eggs with mushrooms and prawns. The eggs were discrete and acted as a glue to hold together the succulent mushrooms and flavorful shellfish. We moved on to "Ropas Viejas", a chicken and chickpea dish with an almost Carolina-like sweet BBQ sauce. This was a perfectly balanced dish - flavorful seasonings and tender, almost shredded, chicken. Next came the best calamari I have ever had. Huge rings of squid that one could easily mistake for onion rings. The light batter hid nothing from the delicious "pulpo" that must have been caught that morning. We finished with a lemon pudding that was more of an experience than a simple food. A true sensory pleasure. Five stars to this incredible gastronomic establishment.
