We had a very good lunch here. It's located in the old Chez Porky's restaurant spot so we knew how to get here. There's limited parking in the small lot. There are other Latin business also in this small strip of stores on the north side of the street. The menu is large and prices are very reasonable. There was only one gal serving the tables out front, but she was very friendly. While waiting for our food we were served chips and salsa. The salsa is made in house and is a bit spicy. I wanted to try a few things, so I got one of their pupusas -- with pork and cheese. It was very good. And large (I took half home). It was served piping hot with slaw served on the side to eat on top of the pupusa. I also got two different tacos -- one birria and one carnitas. They each came with a separate dipping sauce. And the plate had cucumbers and radish slices and a cut in half large jalapeno pepper on it as well. I liked the pork carnitas a lot. I got it without onions. And it had a nice amount of cilantro on the top of the crispy pork pieces. The birria had tender shredded meat in it. Both soft tacos were double layered. The only thing that wasn't a fave was the sauce that came with the birria taco -- but I didn't miss it. I tried it and then felt the meat was flavorful enough without using it. I took half of the birria taco home also. My husband ordered a beef burrito. It was huge and even cut in half, he could only have half in one sitting. It was packed with slices of steak meat, rice, beans, avocado, slices of jalapeno, and slaw. He really like the burrito. They should do quite well here once discovered. So come now while you can still get a seat without waiting. read more

Stopped in for lunch and glad to see a large party of six ladies, a two top occupied and us... as well as many take out orders/pick ups.We were greeted and seated immediately and a basket of corn chips with In House Salsa with a mild kick was brought.to our table.I ordered a Beef Burrito for my entree. When my Beef Burrito was delivered table top... it was huge; filled with strips of beef steak strips, avocado, rice, beans, lettuce, and other crispy veggies. Even cut in half I knew that I was going to be taking half home. It was wrapped in a large tortilla and delicious! I enjoyed a great lunch and now have my dinner as well! I hate doing this to a local restaurant, but don't go. The food was terrible. We didn't even finish the free chips and salsa. The chips were almost stale. My wife ordered the chicken quesadilla and I got the beef burrito. We have never had a quesadilla that bad. It was very wet shredded chicken with almost no cheese in a soggy shell. The beef burrito was very large. Unfortunately the meat if you could find it was very salty. Not only that but the reason it was so big was because is had so much lettuce and rice. The server was nice but had no idea what anything came with or was made with. As far as ambience there was non. Sorry, no pictures. El Jalapeño Feliz, new taqueria/pupuseria in pompano beach. https://www.eljalapenofeliz.com Absolutely not Americanized, a mix of Mexican and Salvadoran stuff. Table salsas are unusual, the red is very smoky, probably guajillo or morita chipotle. Also gave us some kind of warm dipping sauce that was brothy and had sausage in it. I liked both the shrimp pastor and the birria tacos, didn't like the meat with the Al pastor pork, was fatty, had a weird marinade. Rachel ordered a baleada with a ton of stuff in it, was very good. Pupusas we got were very good. You'll need to practice your Spanish if you come here. Lots of atypical things on the menu worth trying. read more

Restaurant is nicely decorated with plenty of seating and even has a nice bar set up. The food was very good, we decided to order a little bit of everything and all of it was very good. The hot sauces had good flavor and the natural water drinks also were very good. I will definitely be back, the only negative I found is they only have bottled water which you have to pay for. read more

Can you say "best tacos around?" Soooo difficult to find a decent street taco in the state of Florida. Carnitas, Carne Asada and Shredded beeeeeeef...l all beautifully plated with grilled green onion, grilled jalapeño, fresh cucumber and radishes... DOUBLE seated in delish corn tortillas with lots of diced onion and fresh cilantro and lime... stuffed so full of meat it takes two hands to hold it. So why 4 stars and not 5? Aside from the killer tacos the menu is a bit odd. I'd like to try their "shrimp ceviche" but I'm not willing to pay 20 bucks for a small bowl of it because we'll, I know what it costs to make it. Would love to give this place a great review but sadly I can't. We went to dinner there and the place was pretty deserted. The service and ambiance were good but the food was very dry and not good at all. We went for enchiladas, an authentic Mexican dish ( https://www.ggrill.com/the-history-of-enchiladas/ ) but they did not have them. Instead my husband ordered a quesadilla and I ordered two sopes. I could only eat half of one. We were both extremely disappointed with our meal; both meals were bland, bready, and dry. Also, the chips are not homemade and weren't that great. I hope they can improve their food as I would love to see a great Mexican restaurant in the former Chez Porky's spot. read more

My family went there yesterday. When we set down and got our drinks. My water tasted funny like it had been there for a couple of days. I asked to change my drink and the waitress started giving attitudes. SHE brought chips and salsa (we didn't order) and our food. Our food came with salsa and it tasted old. We asked to get a new one and the waitress once more gave a Nasty attitudes and rolled her eyes. When we were ready to head out. We looked at our ticket and saw she charged us for the chips and salsa WE never ordered. When we asked why she charged us she said WE had ordered it but like I said we didn't. When we asked to speak to the owner. She once again started getting nasty and said the owner wasn't here. She went to the kitchen and started yelling that we didn't want to pay the bill. A cook came and we started to explain the situation and the waitress kept yelling and saying we ordered it. We explained to the man that we didn't. And that we were going to pay the 45 dollars. My brother even showed him his wallet that showed he had more than enough money to pay for the bill. BUT the waitress continued to yell. She later said that because of people like us they don't like us in this country. I am Mexican so I go into Mexican restaurants all the time. If they don't provide free chips and salsa you can order as an appetizer which is fine. No one minds paying it. If it isn't free let people know they are going to pay for it and if they don't ask for it don't bring it to the table. If you are not happy with your job as a waitress look for another job. You have no right to speak to people like that and give nasty attitudes. At the end of the day. It is your job to serve and provide the best service. My family love support small business but sadly we won't be going there again. That lady was rude and disrespect. It really made made our experience worse that it already was. UPDATE to Owners reply: No one was disrespectful. No one said we didn't enjoy the food. Your water and salsa were bad. It tasted old. WE DID PAY for OUR FOOD THAT WE ORDERED. No one asked for EXTRA salsas we asked to get a new one since the first one was clearly spoiled (which is understandable for it be replaced if its bad) It's clear that the waitress is a reflection of the owner. It's sad you can't take accountability for your employees actions. P.S. If we did NOT speak to the owner AT ALL how does the owner know what really happened? Besides what the waitress said and who is clearly NOT going to say everything that went down. I speak the truth, no reason to lie. At the end of the day. I wish your restaurant the best and hope this issue is addressed not just for me but all future clients, I wish no one to pass such an uncomfortable moment like we did. We ordered delivery of several different tacos and a few other dishes to judge this place--if they can make a great taco we'll come running for more. However, all the tacos we got tasted exactly the same--too salty and greasy and overall pretty nasty. We could barely tell which was which. Went back to try a different style of the Pupusas. I ordered the squash flower quesadilla again since my wife and I enjoyed it so much the first time. I also ordered the Pupusa Loca (Crazy Pupusa) which is an El Salvadoran tortilla stuffed with cheese, beans, chicken, pork, onions, peppers, and squash flower with a side of pickled vegetables. Very flavorful, the ingredients tasted fresh and the tortilla was warm, soft with almost a fluffy texture. Theses are now my favorite thing on the menu. I will becoming back to have these again and also have some of the other entrees I have yet to try. If you haven't been here yet. I would definitely recommend coming just for the Pupusas! read more
