Positives: Really quirky cute eatery with interesting decor that ranges from romantic to exotic animal. There are lots of different seating options that give you a different feel. Negatives: They didn't have a lot that appeared on the menu, and what we did have was really underwhelming. The drinks were really watered down, and the food was...edible. I had a duck cooked in a sauce with rose, and it was overpoweringly sweet and floral to the point that I couldn't eat anymore. The C U T E S T little restaurant I have been to so far in Madrid! The decor is crazy, but cute and goes together so well. We went in on a Wednesday night at around 9. They were fairly busy, but not completely packed. The menu is so extensive! They mostly have desserts and drinks, but offer some meal options (for carnivores and herbivores) as well. What I ordered: I got s glass of wine along with a yogurt smoothie-type dessert they have. The smoothie was yogurt based, but had a little ice, strawberry sauce, and a scoop of ice cream in it. The particular one I ordered came with walnuts and chocolate on top. It was good, but if I ever come back I'm going to try their brownies and ice cream! read more

The decor for this place is INSANE, but in a good way. It is a great place to meet up with a group of people or have a first date. A group of us stopped this place to grab some drinks and a couple of bites before going to another restaurant. Our experience with the menu was kind of limited, but the little bites that we had were quite amazing. Personally, I had the potatoes au gratin (the name is much longer on the menu), and they were beautifully prepared. Although I did not have much from the menu, aside from the potatoes and multiple glasses of wine, there is a WIDE variety of options on the menu . . . for both food and drinks. The service was OK; it was not horrible but it was not super exceptional. read more

This is a charming little place which was suggested by a friend from my work place. It is about 0.1 mile from the Plaza de Espana metro station. I went there on a weekday evening at around 7pm and it was packed. Had to wait for a few minutes before finding a seat and also for the food to arrive after ordering it. But it was worth the wait. The decor was amusing and the food was delicious! Their menu is extensive with a wide array of teas, coffees, alcohol and non-alcohol drinks, pastries, meat dishes and what-not. It took me a while to decide on what to get. I went with "Seduceme" drink which is a non-alcoholic mango drink with a hint of mint. It was perfect for the humid evening. Then I ordered the vegetarian couscous dish which was surprisingly delicious. I ended the meal with a sumptuous orange icecream dessert. I wanted Muerto para chocolate which they didn't have, sigh! A picturesque cafe/bar with great desserts. We went to celebrate a friend's birthday with dessert and drinks and for my first visit, I couldn't be more pleased. The staff helped us find a table (always a nice surprise compared to other Spanish cafes where it's everyone for themselves) and we didn't have to wait long. Myself and a friend had the carrot cake, another had some chocolate cake concoction and the last had one of the desserts from the "orgasmos". I tried a bite and it lived up to its name. My cake was delicious. My friend's mojito was a generous size for the price and had dry ice swirling around for extra ambience and instagram-worthiness (for those who care). My only complaint is that I wish the tables had better seating. Two of us were sitting on these log-like seats that were small with no back to them so quite uncomfortable. read more

I enjoyed this bar! Had a great "first date" atmosphere. Absolutely beautiful scenery inside. Had a definite feel of a garden. Lot of options, a whole page dedicated to different types of coffee, tea, smoothies, cocktails and food. I had a vodka, banana, passion fruit and melon drink. As most places in Spain will do, is give you some side snacking items. We got peanuts, little sweets and corn nuts. Great staff super friendly. Very prompt, seat you and takes your order in a timely fashion. My only complaint is the price, 7,50 euros. A bit much for a simple cocktail, although it did have real fruit in it so I guess that's good read more

Not cheap no, but with an excellent, funky, cocktail menu and tonnes of good food this place is a little gem if you wanna catch a break from Spanish Tapas for a while. Cute, artsy decor with odd tables and chairs and great lighting details makes this place ideal for dating too. We're here every time I'm in Madrid! read more

I find the staff are always in a rush. They make very beautiful drinks very quickly! The menu is LARGE. The largest drinks menu I've seen in Madrid. Pages and pages like a bubble tea shop! The decor is amazing, they offer so much to look at , it is very interesting. They welcomed us warmly and invited us to sit in the dining room. They have a large menu with exciting and exotic dishes. The services was fast ( New York City style, so I mean fast! ) the salads are pretty large and full of flavors. The meals are not the typical Spanish food, ( it was time, we wanted something else other than tapas and pinchos ) I read in the menu they use organic ingredients ( a plus ) they also have in their menu suggestions if you have any food allergies ( smart ) but the deserts!!!! OMG! Must try the "orgasmic desserts" not only is hilarious to read them out loud ( great descriptions) but also they test so good that you can call it "orgasmic". Not exactly cheap and definitely not secret, this place serves an eclectic crowd of chic/hip people digging on vibrant decor and amazing treats. The best hot chocolate in the city, and some fantastic teas (try the mayan versions of both to see what I mean). In under an hour, I'd asked nearby tables what amazing things they were getting at least 3 times. I will definitely come back and bring anyone who comes to visit the city. A great little spot, though kind of unusual! A friend and I were undecided about where to have dinner, and we happened upon El Jardín by chance. It looked appealing from the outside, so we decided to give it a go. Inside, the decor is eclectic... this was certainly the first time I have sat on a toadstool whilst dining! But it has a pleasant ambiance, with subdued lighting. The menu had a sort of middle eastern flair to it, but with a Spanish basis. We had a tomato and tuna salad, plus some couscous, both of which were good. The highlight, though, was the bacalao - slightly salty and in a buttery sauce. Delicious! They also have an extensive gin list, with different varieties plus a description of the garnishes. We tried a few, and they were so good that this became possibly a few too many! (As a side note, I always thought G&T was a British thing, but the Spanish have a fine appreciation for it that I definitely enjoy!) Service was friendly, the atmosphere was relaxed and the bill reasonable considering what we drank; the food was something like 35 Euros. Definitely recommend! read more

There were three staff members around us at the counter - one of whom made extended eye contact with us - and they completely ignored us for about five minutes, despite being an arm's reach away. I'm not expecting to be treated like a Roman emperor, but it was pretty unprofessional, even for relaxed Spanish customer service standards. We eventually awkwardly let outselves out.
