Finally tried this place out after debating going for so long, and it did not disappoint. We have tried their restaurant in Gilroy and loved it. We weren't too hungry so we shared a piña colada milkshake and camarones al mojo de ajo plate. They also provide chips and salsa and beans while you wait for your food. Everything was absolutely delicious and the perfect amount for two of us. We did have to wait a little bit for food to be ready, but it was worth it. Our server was attentive and helpful. Came here to get to go food for a work lunch at a Dr office, and this place was awesome!They specialize in seafood, so I tried their spicy shrimp in salsa w garlic (aka Camarones A La Diabla) and I will definitely be coming back for this dish!! But next time I'm asking for more sauce!! I also tried their chicken taco salad, but I ate it later in the day, and taco salads need to be eaten right away for them to be good! The chicken had good flavor, so I would also order that again the next time I come back! The girl taking my food order didn't speak good English over the phone, so it took a little bit for her to get more order. And the food took awhile to make, I think about 45 min, but it was worth the wait! And I kept eye balling the neighbors yummy looking shrimp drinks (like a fancy beer with shrimp in it) and their shrimp food! This restaurant came up on my Instagram. Their PR sure knows how to take pictures because we drove to Watsonville to try their food. This restaurant is located inside a plaza, so there is plenty of free parking. We walked in and the lady smiled at us. She didn't approach us or say hello. There was no one inside. The restaurant was completely empty. They had the TV's playing and the music playing too. We stood there until I came to the conclusion that we could sit anywhere. There were menus on most of the tables. Coincidentally, there wasn't menus on the table we chose to sit at. Once we were seated, she came with menus. She didn't say welcome or anything, just dropped them off and left. I had to tell her we were ready to order. We really liked that they had a full menu for kids and not just chicken nuggets with fries. I watched as they cooked the food. It made me excited. The presentation of the food is great. However, the beans were below average. The rice looked stiff and it was dry. The fajitas didn't have flavor. 3 stars for the fajitas. 1 star for the sushi. It tasted as though they had dipped the entire roll in the oil. The entire roll was so deep fried, including the rice. As a sushi enthusiast, this was one of the worst sushi rolls. To top it off, it was $22. How deeply disappointed I was with the Enchiladas. I immediately noticed they were flat. When I looked inside, they were filled with cheese :( I couldn't even finish them because there was already enough cheese melted on top with sour cream. It was cheese overload. I am not sure if they offer chicken, but the server didn't ask what kind I wanted, or even check in on us once she brought out the food. On instagram, they promote their alcoholic drinks so that may be their specialty because our food was definitely not delicious. Definitely not worth $89.59. Total 2.5 stars. We love the food, atmosphere, margaritas, and service at El Michoacano. We got guacamole, Mexican shrimp cocktail, a super burrito, and steak entree. Prices for meat are very high for restaurants as well, and the portions are generous and reasonably priced. Going out to eat costs more everywhere. If you want 3x the meat of a typical burrito, just order the steak or Chile Verde entree or pay extra for extra meat. Rice and beans are infinitely cheaper than meat, and that is why a burrito is approx. 12 dollars and an entree is more like 25 dollars. read more

I visited for the first time with my family on Sunday. I was a little skeptical at first, because I didn't want to be in a regular mariscos restaurant with lots of drunk people. To my surprise, the place was more family oriented which I liked. We tried Camarones a la Diabla, Camarones al Mojo de Ajo, Camarones Empanizados and Camarones a la Plancha. Mexican spot that uses processed nacho cheese instead of shredded cheese is the first red flag for me. 20 dollars for "super nachos" with steak with no steak whatsoever is another red flag. I should have listened to the review that mentioned rude employees. But I wanted to give them a chance. I've eaten at places where service sucks but the food is delicious. I thought maybe the food would be worth the rude server but I was wrong. I ordered camarones a la Diabla and I've never had them served with the full shell. I've had them with the tail still on which is fine. But the entire shell covered in sauce.. not pleasant to eat. Also served with plain fries, no seasoning or anything. The server seemed to hate life. She kept talking to my husband in Spanish when he doesn't speak Spanish. This was a perfect scenario of where this server did not deserve a tip. But my husband is an angel and still tipped her well. Moral of story never again, try at your own risk. lol read more

Let me start by telling you this little family did an amazing job building an outdoor dining area for their customers. They have outdoor heaters and it's such a nice little place to dine!! I took my family here for dinner tonight and we were beyond satisfied with not only their customer service but their food too! I've added a few pictures below of some of the cool things they do. We ordered their Mocajete which was AMAZING and my sister got the fajitas combo. Seriously so fresh and the food quality was beyond our expectations. They had music playing in the background to set the tone and it was just an overall wonderful experience. First of all on the outside this looks like your typical mexican resturant, so you would never guess that this place would serve up one of the best super burritos in the city. I work close by so I occasionally will come here for lunch. I really appreciate the free chips and salsa that come with your order. Unfortunately it's take out only at this time due to the COVID-19 debacle. So I can't say what the dine-in experience is like, but I will say the two guys that I see everytime I go in are fast and efficient with take out orders. I haven't tried everyting on their menu, but their super burrito is delicious and big. It's packed with steak, beans, rice that are creamy and textured complimenting the rest of the burrito that really put it over the top. They are generous with their servings. Came in for lunch with the family, was greeted with chips, salsa and a warm bowl of bean dip, a great start to lunch. We ordered the small Mariscada platter. It was delicious, with shrimp, scallops, fish, prawns, mussels, and squid with bell peppers (red, green and yellow) and onions cooked in a special red sauce, served with tortillas. What is going on here? Their customer service has become awful. I have given them multiple chances over the past few months but the same thing happens every time I try to place an order. Step 1) I call several times around noon and nobody answers. Step 2) After a few tries someone finally answers and says we open at 12. Fine. Step 3) I call back after 12 and again no answer. Step 4) I DRIVE to the restaurant to place an order in person and employees are sitting at tables doing whatever and the door is locked. Employees see me but they don't care. Step 5) I walk away and take my business elsewhere. This literally happened again 5 minutes ago. I keep repeating the pattern because I hope things change and I really like their food but I give up.
